Cemetery Junction Teaser Trailer

There's no actual footage from the movie in this teaser trailer, but it does feature Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, and Ralph Fiennes (seen above) talking about, well, the movie itself. Cemetery Junction, formerly known as The Men at the Pru, tells the funny, touching and universal story of being trapped in a small town and dreaming of escape. More specifically, it's a 1970s-set comedy centered on three upstart professional men working at an insurance company. Gervais debuted this announcement teaser well in advance of its release, as this is still shooting as we speak. But it's funny and worth watching, so enjoy!

Cemetery Junction, set in 1970s England, follows three blue-collar friends who spend their days joking, drinking and chasing girls. Freddie (Christian Cooke) wants to leave their working-class world but cool, charismatic Bruce (Tom Hughes) and lovable loser Snork (Jack Doolan) are happy with life the way it is.

Cemetery Junction is co-written and co-directed by British comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the two geniuses behind the original "Office" and "Extras" on HBO. This is their first feature film together. Cemetery Junction started shooting in June and is due for release from Sony Pictures sometime in 2010.

loll. awesome teaser. Ralph Fiennes is actually a pretty funny guy, in a dark kinda way. (ie. in bruges. i even liked collin farrel in that, believe it or not) that aside this could be really good. and most likely will.

I don't really like Ricky Gervais, he's always doing the same kind of "comedy" like he did in the Office and for me, his humor is embarassing, but maybe that's the point.

    FELIX CRACKED THE COMEDY CODE.

This movie stars Ralph Fiennes and yet the synopsis under the video doesn't mention him once?
  • Uuh, fuck this? Give me a fucking break... I mean, what the hell!? This teaser sucks! Every filmmaker can make this in pre-production, so what is the point?
  • Meh...

i'll be keeping an eye on this. i like gervais and fiennes. by the way..........ralph fiennes SHOULD have won an oscar for his role in "schindlers list". he was brilliant.

I used to live not 2 miles from Cemetery Junction. The film is based on Gervais' home town of Reading, which is where I grew up, I feel slightly star struck! I even knew people that worked at the "Pru". Still not that interested in seeing it though!

I just don't see the funny in Ricky Gervais. The media hypes the hell out of him and yet, he's just ugh.............
  • mick
This looks classic. All you ricky gervais haters are F'D in the A. He's one of the smartest, funniest actors going round today. The Office (and to a lesser extent Extras) is pure comedic genius.... simple as that. If you dont agree you must not find anything funny and i feel sorry for you. You probably have the same sense of humour as a mongoloid gibbon.
  • Xerxex
Fiennes is extremely funny, especially in In Bruges opposite Brendan Gleeson. So yeah I actually think this will be a great comedy!

Hahahahaaha, that looks hilarious, even though I have no idea what it's about.
  • dom
haha that was funnier than the whole of land of the lost.

@9 Hey mick, you're F'D in the A....and hard! Don't be a condescending idiot! This forum is based on opinions. Like A*holes, everyone's got one. Mind your own damn business and if you don't like it, you can suck me dry!

how do people not find this funny? Of course we could have people falling off of high ledges or getting hit in the nuts, which might appeal to the haters in this post. But for a comedian to make a teaser trailer funny without introducing the plot or even showing clips, but merely introducing one of the characters shows comedic intelligence.
  • i love in junction :D
i don't think it sounds that good but i've lived in cemetery junction since i was 4 so i definitely want to see it! 😀
