Watch This: Second Intense Trailer for The Crazies Remake

Overture Films has debuted a second new trailer for The Crazies remake (via Yahoo) that stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Anderson, Danielle Panabaker, and a town full of crazy people. We ran the first trailer for this back in October and I know a lot of people (including Brandon) thought it looked pretty awesome. This second one jumps into things right away and it actually looks pretty damn good as well. This new trailer plays more like a serial killer movie than a crazy thriller, but it's still cool. I love how intense it gets, I've got a feeling I'm going to really like it, but I don't know yet. Anyway, check out this new trailer!

The story revolves around the inhabitants of a small Iowa town who are suddenly beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a mysterious secret biological weapon into the water supply.

The Crazies is directed by Breck Eisner, of Thoughtcrimes and Sahara previously. The screenplay was written by Scott Kosar (The Machinist, The Amityville Horror) and Ray Wright (Pulse, Case 39). This is a remake of George Romero's 1973 film of the same name. Overture Films will be bringing it to theaters on February 26th, 2010 next year. I hope it's as exciting as it seems. I'll check it out. I love it when movies make my right knee spasm up and down because I'm scared and I refuse to cover my eyes. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. The trailer looks really good.

Olyphants a very good actor in my opinion he just hasnt had his breakout role yet. See him in the shows Deadwood or Damages youd think so too.

19 & 20 - No I haven't seen Deadwood and no I'm not just trying to be the only one talking shit.... Tim Olyphant really does suck gigantic donkey balls.... he takes roles that could be good and ruins them... Live Free or Die Hard, Catch and Release, Hitman, he ruined all those films with his horrendous acting... the fact that he gets paid to act blows my mind and seriously shakes my faith in God....

Back in August, I caught, what the studio folks called, a rough cut of THE CRAZIES. If this was their idea of rough, then Give It to Me Rough! The movie did nothing short of blow the audience right out of their seats with plenty of scenes to shock us one minute and have us cheering the next. There were a few slight misteps - but what movie doesn't have those? besides which, one person's slight misstep is another person's..., The only major problem was the cut-and-paste-tedious-Hollywood-template of "Let's have the ending setup the potential sequel!" ploy. The final one minute post-it-note end completely screwed the movie (as really bad endings can do) by betraying all of the movie logic the story and characters created and followed up to that point. It had the effect of us going, "Whoa! Hey, wait a minute..." before we even rose from our seats. Still, it was the proverbial rough cut and what I saw won't necessarily be what folks see in 2010. I hope they end the movie where it's supposed to end, and not tack on that cheeseball sequelitis crap.
