Saint John of Las Vegas Trailer

I'm not entirely sure why, but Steve Buscemi hasn't been in anything besides independent films recently. He hasn't appeared in any major feature films since I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, although he is also in Youth in Revolt. Saint John of Las Vegas is a new indie from a fist-time filmmaker starring Steve Buscemi, Romany Malco, Sarah Silverman, Peter Dinklage, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Tim Blake Nelson. I'd never heard of it before today, but it looks great, and I'm quite interested in checking it out. It's a small indie film about a compulsive gambler who gets lured back into Las Vegas. Check it out, it looks kinda fun.

After a rough streak of bad luck, John (Steve Buscemi), a compulsive gambler, runs away from Las Vegas and toward a normal job and life. Taking a basic position in an auto insurance company in Albuquerque, he tries to get ahead in the straight world, amid the ever-present temptations of scratch-off lotto tickets.

Saint John of Las Vegas is both written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Hue Rhodes, of a few short films, and is based on a story by Dante Alighieri. This first premiered at the Cinevegas Film Festival this year. IndieVest Pictures will be bringing Saint John of Las Vegas to theaters on January 29th, 2010.

If I had been the Artist on that project I'd have given the man a Tan. Thought at first it was another vampire movie. Like we need any more right now.

It looks really funny and quirky to me and I'll definitely check it out. Everytime I see Peter I think of him running across the desk at Wil Ferrell and tackling him and it makes me laugh to myself.

I think Steve Buscemi and Lance Henriksen were twins separated at birth. More loose skin on those guys than Al Roker after the surgery. But aside from that, Buscemi is gold no matter how freaking weird he looks. Everybody else looks solid too. I'll definitely give it a spin.

Ahh, low budget, limited release, straight to DVD indies. Where out of favour has-beens go to die. Treat Williams, you still alive? Or have you just set up an academy of acting.
