Writers Guild Hosting An Evening with Kurtzman and Orci
by Alex Billington
May 9, 2009
Now that almost everyone has seen J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, it's time to start picking apart the plot and criticizing every last detail. Or maybe it's just time to praise everyone involved and usher in a new generation of Star Trek that I know I can't wait to see continue on. Whatever side it may be that you fall on, the Writers Guild Foundation is hosting An Evening with Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, the screenwriters of Star Trek as well as the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, on May 26th. The event is simply a Q&A with Bob and Alex that will be moderated by fellow screenwriter Paul Attanasio.
This event is part of the "Writers On Writing" series that the Writers Guild Foundation often hosts. Hopefully a few of you have watched my most recent interview with the two writers and therefore know how cool these guys are in person and how interesting it is to chat with them. Considering they wrote the scripts for two of the biggest blockbusters this summer, I'm sure they've got a lot to talk about. In addition to writing Trek and Transformers, they also produced The Proposal and work on "Fringe" with J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof.
