Tron Legacy Will Have 5 Sequences in Tall IMAX Screen Size
There's a lot of buzz for Tron Legacy right now and it's for good measure because after seeing the trailer, it's my most anticipated movie coming up this year. After the premiere at the event in Los Angeles this past weekend, Peter Sciretta from SlashFilm and I talked briefly with director Joe Kosinski in the lobby. When asked about aspect ratios, Kosinski told us that there would be 5 sequences that would be shown in a taller full-size aspect ratio as if it were nearly top-to-bottom IMAX size (even though it's not). There have been only two other movies to show IMAX scenes: The Dark Knight and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Angelina Jolie & Darren Aronofsky On for 'Serena' Adaptation
After we heard news last week that Angelina Jolie had dropped out of Wanted 2, it looked like she might step into a project with Alfonso Cuaron instead. However, now news comes from THR that Jolie has another project in the works with another high profile director, Darren Aronofsky. The trade reports they are both in discussions to work on an adaptation of Serena, the 2008 Ron Rash novel which follows a man named George Pemberton and his new bride, Serena, as they move to North Carolina to create a timber empire. But apparently the script, written by Nick Weschler (The Road) needs more work before this moves forward.

Adam Brody, Alia Shawkat & More Look to Join The Oranges
Hot on the heels of the news that Hugh Laurie might finally be taking on a lead role for the dark comedy The Oranges, now comes word from THR that Adam Brody (Jennifer's Body), Alia Shawkat (Whip It), Catherine Keener (Synecdoche, New York) and Allison Janney (Juno) are on board to star in the Julian Farino directed film. In addition, it's confirmed that Leighton Meester beat out Mila Kunis for one of the key roles and Laurie is officially on board to play a man who has a romantic relationship with the daughter (Meester) of a family friend which (obviously) turns their lives, and both of their families, upside down.

Jay Baruchel Talks About Directing & Hockey Comedy 'Goon'
This is a big year for Jay Baruchel who has no less than three studio movies seeing release this year. Both She's Out of My League and How to Train Your Dragon will be hitting theaters later this month, while The Sorcerer's Apprentice comes out this summer. But no matter how busy or successful the actor is, apparently Baruchel has his sights set on writing and directing as he revealed to ComingSoon that he's been working on a script for a movie called Pig which is a "21st century re-imagining of the slasher film with a lot of socio-racial commentary." In addition, he's apparently trying his hardest to make that film his directorial debut.

Fox Snags Big Screen Rights to Young Adult Series 'Incarceron'
With all the wild success of the Harry Potter franchise and moderately well-received Chronicles of Narnia adaptations, there have been more than a few attempted copycat adaptations of numerous fantasy novels trying to capture the same magic and appeal to youth. Frankly I'm sick of it, so, naturally there's yet another youth-based fantasy adaptation on the way as Variety reports Fox has won a bidding war for the rights to to Incarceron, the first book in a new series of the same name which tells the story of a young boy who lives in a prison that is a complete society in a world stuck in the 17th century and run by computers. Read on!

Indie Trailer Sunday: Perrier's Bounty Starring Cillian Murphy
The new indie trailer I'm featuring today is an extended trailer for Ian Fitzgibbon's Irish gangster dramedy Perrier's Bounty, which I first saw at the Toronto Film Festival late last year (read my review). It's not exactly an incredible film, but it is pretty damn good. And the best thing about it is the fantastic Irish (and British) cast that includes Cillian Murphy, Jim Broadbent, Brendan Gleeson, and Jodie Whittaker (who starred in that Peter O'Toole film Venus). If you couldn't get this from the trailer, it's about a kid who gets wrapped up in some mob debt and tries to clean things up. It's actually a lot of fun. Check it out below!

Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis Join Lasse Hallström's Next
This is some interesting casting. The Playlist found a new quote from Johnny Depp (at BangShowbiz) where he talks about a new project he's involved in with Swedish filmmaker Lasse Hallström (who last directed Dear John as well as Chocolat, An Unfinished Life, and many other films). Apparently Hallström has cast Depp and his real life girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, who last starred in a French comedy called L'arnacoeur (or Heartbreaker in English), in his new film called My American Lover, about the story of French feminist philosopher, writer and theorist Simone de Beauvoir and American novelist Nelson Algren.

Tron Legacy Viral Event Recap - Trailer Premiere in IMAX 3D
Last week, Disney kicked off a big viral game for Tron Legacy that resulted in the unveiling of this special event held today (Saturday) in five major cities around the world. The tickets were given out on a site called Pit Cell and the event sold out within 20 seconds. Our event in LA was hosted at The Bridge in IMAX 3D. Right at the beginning, the lights went down, the two minute trailer premiered, and then the lights came up. But the audience demanded they show it again, so to allow time for the print to be rewound, they brought up Tron Legacy director Joe Kosinski and original Tron director Steve Lisberger for a quick Q&A as well.

Sound Off: Kevin Smith's New Comedy Cop Out - Thoughts?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Opening in theaters this weekend is Kevin Smith's ninth feature film, called Cop Out, following Zack and Miri Make a Porno from 2008. It's a modern day buddy cop comedy in the same vein as the Lethal Weapon movies of the 80's, but is it as good those? Cop Out got slammed by critics and has a 19% on Rotten Tomatoes, but were the critics just unable to enjoy the humor? How are Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as partners? Is it as good as Kevin Smith's past few films or worse? If you've seen it, then leave a comment below and let us know what you thought of Kevin Smith's Cop Out.

Must Watch: Two Brand New TV Spots for Clash of the Titans
I know we've already seen a lot from Clash of the Titans, but these new TV spots (via TheMovieBox) are fantastic. I first saw them while watching the Olympics tonight and was thoroughly impressed. They finally do away with the rock music and just go with some intense drum beats to get everyone excited. I still think this looks great and I can't wait to see it. Check out that scene in the first TV spot below with Perseus (Sam Worthington) meeting Pegasus for the first time - it's very similar to the scene from the original. I feel like they've paid the original version a true homage with this. I guess we'll find out how true in about a month!

Joss Whedon & Eliza Dushku Teaming Up Again for a Movie?
It wasn't long ago that Joss Whedon's last TV series "Dollhouse" aired its final episode, but it looks like Whedon and "Dollhouse" star Eliza Dushku will be reteaming again for another feature project. Found on the gossip site Hollywood Life (via SlashFilm) is a quote from Dushku talking about a new project. "I would say that we would [be working on something new very soon]!" Dushku said. "I think we're going to work on a kickass feature together that we've been thinking about for a few years." Well that sounds pretty cool - but exactly what is it? SlashFilm thinks it's a horror project called Goners that's been around since 2005.

Danny Boyle Filming 127 Hours with Two Cinematographers
One film that I'm anxiously looking forward to is 127 Hours, the newest film from Danny Boyle, and the almost one-man-show starring James Franco, about a mountain climber who has to amputate his own arm after being pinned underneath a boulder for five days. We already know a lot about it, including that it will start filming soon in Utah, but there's always more to learn. The Playlist (via SlashFilm) pulled more quotes from an interview with Boyle in Empire (the print version) where he confirms that there will be dialogue at least in a few scenes and also adds that he's actually shooting the film with two separate cinematographers.
