Sundance Interview: Tucker & Dale vs Evil Director Eli Craig

Although it didn't make it onto my Best of the Fest list, one film that I had a great time at during Sundance was Tucker & Dale vs Evil, a comedic spin on horror films, where the hillbillies living in their vacation cabin are the peaceful ones, and it's the college kids who wrongly accuse them of being killers. It's hilarious and it works so well because it has the perfect balance between horror and comedy. Tucker & Dale vs Evil is the first feature film from director Eli Craig, who we interviewed at Sundance. Brandon and I talked with Craig about his background, finding the tone of the film, and what it was like shooting his first feature film.

Tucker & Dale vs Evil is both written and directed by Los Angeles-born filmmaker Eli Craig, of only the short The Tao of Pong previously. The script was also co-written by up-and-comer Morgan Jurgenson, who last worked as an electrician on a film as well as an editor before moving to the screenwriter position. This just premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in the Park City at Midnight category last week (read Brandon's review). Tucker & Dale vs Evil does not have a US distributor yet, but we're hoping it finds one very soon, as it's a hilarious and awesome movie that I can't wait for everyone else to eventually see as well.

I don't think so. What time into the interview are you talking about? I only made one edit that didn't change anything that he was saying. How far in was this?
