Inception Didn't Even Make Sense to the Actors While Shooting

Inception

This isn't meant to be negative, despite that kind of misleading headline, but I like reporting on this because it keeps the mystery about Chris Nolan's Inception going. We haven't seen a new trailer for Inception since last December but we've heard more about how crazy it's going to be. Time for even more news! Leonardo DiCaprio spoke to the Inquirer.net (via SlashFilm) about upcoming films. "Both Chris and Martin are great directors. The material and its complexity are what I'm attracted to... I've been lucky to work with people who want to tell stories that hit on different cylinders simultaneously. Shutter Island is definitely that."

Amber Heard and William Fichtner to Drive Angry with Cage

William Fichtner / Amber Heard

The super intense high-speed action flick Drive Angry 3-D already has Nicolas Cage behind the wheel of Patrick Lussier's next directing gig, but now Collider and Bloody Disgusting have confirmed that William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Blades of Glory) and Amber Heard (Zombieland, Pineapple Express) have joined the cast as well. The story centers on a man driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway. Now that's what I call a revenge flick - this sounds so awesome!

Watch This: If Famous Filmmakers Directed the Superbowl?

If Famous Filmmakers Directed the Superbowl?

Are you ready for some football this weekend? Who are you rooting for at the Superbowl: the Saints or the Colts? Well, if you're favorite team didn't make it to the Superbowl or you just don't care about football, we've still got a fun football-and-movie mash-up video to share with you today (via Hollywood Elsewhere). The geniuses at Slate made a video called: What Would it Look Like If Famous Filmmakers Directed the Superbowl? I wasn't expecting this to be as funny as it is, but they nailed it with all of their directors. They mock: Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, Wes Anderson, Jean-Luc Godard, & Werner Herzog. Enjoy!

Director Jeffrey Blitz Working on a 'History of DC Comics' Doc

DC Comics

If you're like me, then you're one of a dozen people who've seen the indie comedy Rocket Science. If not, then toss it in your Netflix Queue or whatever and watch it ASAP, if for no other reason then to at least check out yet another fantastic performance from Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick. In addition, you'll be familiarizing yourself with Jeffrey Blitz who has dabbled in narrative features such as this in addition to documentaries like Spellbound. Now Blitz has his eyes on superheroes as Collider discovered he has started work on a documentary about the history of DC Comics and plans to premiere it at Comic-Con this year.

Taylor Lautner Cast in Universal's Stretch Armstrong Movie

Taylor Lautner / Stretch Armstrong

Oh no. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Taylor Lautner has been cast as Stretch Armstrong in the Brian Grazer-produced adaptation of the Hasbro toy in development at Universal. When it was first reported that this movie was even being made, that was when we started writing about how Hollywood had finally crossed the line with all of these damn toy adaptations. I mean, I thought a Stretch Armstrong movie was a bad idea to begin with, but now with Lautner starring in? I have zero excitement for this project and will be lamenting its eventual release in March 2012. Oh and, as you probably guessed, it's coming in 3D as well.

Watch This: Full Theatrical Trailer for Atom Egoyan's Chloe

Atom Egoyan's Chloe Trailer

A couple of weeks back we featured the red band trailer for Atom Egoyan's Chloe, which contained quite a few steamy scenes. Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the official theatrical trailer for the film (with MPAA approval this time), which stars Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, and a very sexy Amanda Seyfried. I'd say this still isn't something you should be watching at work (you could get in trouble), but I think it looks pretty good. I'm definitely interested in checking it out, I love Egoyan's style in this, but I'm not sure if I'll love it. It just seems tough to get into it. Check out the new trailer below and let us know if you'll see this in theaters?

Paranormal Activity Team Joins Saw Creators for 'Insidious'

Leigh Whannell / James Wan

When the people behind two of the most lucrative horror endeavors in the past decade join together, you know damn well people are going to pay attention. Such is the case as Variety reports that the guys behind Paranormal Activity (Oren Peli, Jason Blum and Steven Schneider) will join forces with Saw creators (James Wan and Leigh Whannell) in a five movie deal with Alliance Films (out of Canada) to finance & produce low budget genre films. Their first endeavor is Insidious, which Wan will direct from Whannell's screenplay that takes "a haunted house movie with all the usual conventions and twisted it on its head."

Chris Columbus Clueless on Gremlins 3, Talks Other Sequels

Gizmo from Gremlins

Just last month, we got wind of a somewhat unlikely, but thoroughly infuriating rumor that would bring the classic slimy 80's monsters Gremlins back to theaters in a 3-D sequel. Fortunately, ComingSoon sat down with writer/director Chris Columbus (who wrote the Gremlins script) who delivered some relief. "I spoke to Steven Spielberg a couple days ago and said, 'You know, I've been reading on the internet about this Gremlins 3-D' and no one's approached him either, so I don't know if that's really true." However, Columbus was slightly more open to the possibilities of sequels to The Goonies, and even Mrs. Doubtfire as well.

Pierce Brosnan Updates Status of Thomas Crown Affair Sequel

The Thomas Crown Affair

Currently out on a promotional tour for his role in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, the actor formerly known as James Bond, or rather, Pierce Brosnan, still has two other films due out this year (Roman Polanski's Ghost Writer and Allen Coulter's Remember Me). Meanwhile, according to ComingSoon, it seems progress is still being made on the potential sequel to Brosnan's 1999 action/heist movie The Thomas Crown Affair. Brosnan said of development on the project, "We've got the fourth script in and this is the closest we've gotten in structure to making sense. It's very, very hard."

Five Badass New Posters & Banners for Clash of the Titans!

Clash of the Titans

I thought we'd seen everything for this already! Apparently not. UGO has debuted five new incredibly badass (and gorgeous) banners and posters for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans remake, hitting theaters (in 3D) in a little less than two months. I already really liked the original two posters they put out for this, but these are the cream of the crop. They look awesome and I'm already dying to get a few to put up on my walls for some epic decoration. The only thing is I'm not too keen on using the Kraken as center of the marketing campaign. He looks badass, but don't ruin that part of the movie by showing him too much. So take a look!

Daredevil Reboot Confirmed, David Scarpa Writing New Script

Daredevil

Another day, another reboot. Hero Complex has confirmed that Fox / New Regency is moving forward with a Daredevil reboot, hiring screenwriter David Scarpa (The Last Castle, The Day the Earth Stood Still) to work on a new script. No director has been named yet nor have they started casting, so there's not much to go on yet. But they do say this: "Those familiar with the reboot say that the new project would give Scarpa latitude to reinterpret plot points and character nuance." I'm glad he's changing it up a bit, maybe we'll get a better movie this time? I didn't hate the first Daredevil, but it's one of my least favorite superhero movies.
