There is a Good Chance Greg Berlanti Will Direct The Flash!
Apparently I missed the memo that this week was going to be Huge Comic Book News Week, but alas, the hits just keep on coming as another high profile comic book character from DC Comics' universe is in the midst of finally getting a director attached after years of being in development. IESB is reporting that Greg Berlanti, who recently wrote, produced and almost directed Green Lantern, is at the top contender to bring the speedy heroics of Barry Allen, aka The Flash, to the big screen. After yesterday's big news surrounding the new Superman project, titled The Man of Steel, there's no denying that DC Entertainment is on fire.

Antonio Banderas to Write, Direct and Star in a Boabdil Biopic
You may not know Boabdil (Abu Abdullah Muhammad XII - seen above), the last Muslim ruler of Granada, Spain, but hopefully you still remember Antonio Banderas despite a not-so-fresh career these past few years aside from his work in the Shrek franchise. However, with an upcoming appearance in both Woody Allen and Steven Soderbegh's next films, Banderas' future is looking up and now ScreenDaily reports (via The Playlist) that he will produce, write and direct a biopic on Boabdil. Banderas has also given himself a decent supporting role in this as General Gonzalo de Cordoba, who captured the kingdom for the Christians.

Watch This: Third & Final How to Train Your Dragon Trailer
DreamWorks Animation has debuted one last trailer for their upcoming animated movie How to Train Your Dragon featuring the voice talents of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jonah Hill, America Ferrera, Kristen Wiig, and T.J. Miller. I'm still hoping the movie might turn out as good as Kung Fu Panda, but I'm just not at all into it. As is usual with DreamWorks movies, the voices are all off (they just sound like celebrities), the character design is just bland and unoriginal, and the comedy is just stupid. When will you try harder DreamWorks? Or is that just not possible? Enjoy if you can.

Zach Galifianakis Will Be a Fake Exorcist in Miracle Workers
By now we're all familiar with the bushy bearded, laugh-inducing Zach Galifianakis, and if not, you've probably been living under a rock. While many of us are aware of his comedic work in The Hangover, and fewer of us familiar with his stand-up career before that breakthrough performance, I'm betting even less people know about his turn in the supernatural thriller Below. Hell, I wasn't aware until STYD pointed it out along with the news that Galifianakis is attached to the supernatural comedy Miracle Workers, where he poses as an "exorcist with a pal." They've got a good thing going until they're faced with a real menace.

Paramount's Top Contenders to Direct Paranormal Activity 2
I got to give it to Paramount, they turned Paranormal Activity into a worldwide phenomenon. It's not just a success either, because that doesn't describe how huge this movie has become. Sure, it could be a marketing trick, but I'm impressed that so many filmmakers and industry folk have come to embrace the movie, from Steven Spielberg to, as we just found out, Brian De Palma. But now they're making a sequel. When they tried to get Saw VI director Kevin Greutert to direct it (to compete directly with Saw VII), Lionsgate forced him to return. So who are they looking at instead to direct Paranormal Activity 2 in six months time?

Must Watch: A Nightmare on Elm Street Final Official Trailer
Warner Bros has debuted the final trailer for Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare on Elm Street remake starring Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger as well as Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Kellan Lutz, Thomas Dekker and Clancy Brown. The first teaser trailer debuted last September, so we haven't seen anything new for a while, and it's great to see a really well put together trailer like this. I'm not a die hard Nightmare on Elm Street fan, but I can say I like the look of this new one and I'm definitely interested in checking in out, in hopes that it's a good restart of a legendary horror franchise. I think it will be. So how does it look?

Roland Emmerich's Next is 'Anonymous' About Shakespeare
Yep, you read that right. Believe it or not, before apocalyptic German director Roland Emmerich gets to the Foundation Trilogy, he'll be directing a little period piece called Anonymous next, starting this March in Berlin. Empire is reporting the news this morning, including casting as well. Anonymous is a film about the theory that William Shakespeare's plays were actually all written by Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford. So the guy behind such epic movies as Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012, is exploring a little Shakespeare in his next feature film. Does that make any sense to you? Read on!

First Look: Simon Pegg & Andy Serkis in Landis' Burke & Hare
No Job Too Small. No Body Too Big. No Questions Asked. When it was first announced that John Landis would finally be returning to the director's chair with a period thriller/comedy called Burke and Hare, it only had actor Simon Pegg attached at the time. Then "Doctor Who's" David Tennant joined briefly before eventually being replaced by motion capture actor Andy Serkis. No more casting changes though, as the film is already shooting in Edinburgh, and Collider has our first look at a small batch of photos from the set showing Pegg and Serkis in costume as grave robbers William Burke and William Hare. Check them out!

Anthony Hopkins Will Play an Exorcism Expert in 'The Rite'
Even at 72 years old, veteran British actor Anthony Hopkins shows no signs of slowing down. Fresh off the release of The Wolfman earlier this month Hopkins will soon be seen as Odin, father to Marvel's thunder god hero Thor, not to mention taking a role in Woody Allen's next film, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. Now Heat Vision says Hopkins will star in the supernatural thriller The Rite. Adapted from the novel by Matt Baglio, and based on true events (creepy), the film follows a disillusioned American seminary student attending an exorcism school at the Vatican who finds his faith through encounters with demonic forces.

It was announced yesterday that Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has acquired rights to distribute Neil Marshall's Centurion in the US. We also featured the totally awesome trailer for Centurion a few weeks back when it was originally debuted in the UK. I can't wait to see this - glad to know it'll be here soon!

Finally, There's a 'Definitive' John DeLorean Biopic Coming
Who knows just how many projects have gone into development with the intention of telling the story of automaker John DeLorean (the creator of the car that became, arguably, the most famous cinematic time machine ever made) but haven't exactly been active in development. Now it sounds like one might finally get made, as THR reports DeLorean's daughter, Kathryn, is partnering with Nine/8 Entertainment, Evolution Entertainment and agent-turned-producer Michael Menchel to bring a script from Thomas Fenton (Saw IV) to the big screen that, apparently, "is the definitive John DeLorean movie." But sadly, no time travel.
