Nicolas Cage & Ryan Reynolds Are CG Cavemen, The Croods
From the GEICO cavemen commercials to the failed ABC show and more recently Harold Ramis' lackluster comedy Year One, I've had enough cavemen in my pop culture. But of course since they haven't invaded the computer animated world yet, why not toss more cavemen into the mix? Whether we like it or not, Variety reports Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds will provide their voices for DreamWorks Animation's The Croods, a comedy that pits a prehistoric patriarch (Cage) against a forward-thinking outsider (Reynolds). And, oh joy, Kirk DeMicco who brought us the animated masterpiece Space Chimps is in the director's chair.

Justin Theroux Writing & Directing Paramount's Zoolander 2
Yep, it's coming. After hearing rumors about it for years, it's actually happening. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Paramount has hired Justin Theroux (who wrote Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2 and has only directed Dedication) to write and direct Zoolander 2, the sequel to Ben Stiller's male fashion model comedy from 2001. Apparently Theroux is even going to Fashion Week in Paris to "immerse himself on what is current in fashion." I guess Paramount heard all the cries for this sequel because they finally admit that "it's got momentum." They just now realized that? I know people have been hoping to see this since 2001!

Tron Legacy Viral IMAX Event Unveiled - Welcome to Pit Cell
Earlier today, the second exciting phase of a viral game for Tron Legacy kicked off with a list of 25 cities on a cryptic Zero Hour website. At the top of every hour starting from 8AM they would "open" 3 new cities, revealing an address and an instructions to find someone with a Flynn Lives shirt at that location and tell them a password. The first one there received a mobile phone and old school Tron cards that have codes written on them that would unveil one of the 66 boxes in a grid on the Zero Hour site. You still following? Once that was finished we were taken to the Pit Cell website with info on an IMAX event this Saturday.

Watch This: First New TV Spot for Sylvain White's The Losers
There are two new TV spots out tonight, one for The Runaways (which I hated) and one for The Losers, which is the one I chose to feature (via TheMovieBox). We saw the first trailer for Sylvain White's adaptation of the Vertigo comic back in late January. This TV spot is basically a 30-second condensed version of that trailer but with a little bit of new footage and a little bit of comedy thrown in. This also looks super stylized which is good because it might give it an edge to make it more than just another big action flick. That's my biggest concern - that this is nothing more than another bland action movie. Let's hope I'm wrong. Enjoy!

David Goyer Writing New Superman Movie: The Man of Steel
After just hearing about the news on the finalists in the running for Captain America, we're just now getting word of a superhero on the other side of the fence at DC Comics as Latino Review got the exclusive scoop that David Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) will be writing the new Superman flick which now has the official title of The Man of Steel. They also confirm what we have suspected for a while: Brandon Routh will not be returning and Bryan Singer will not be directing. Goyer is now the second person from the Batman camp to join the revamp of Superman after we heard Chris Nolan was shepherding the new film.

Who Will Be Behind the Shield in Johnston's Captain America?
The anticipation is growing to find out who will be donning the shield for Marvel's upcoming Captain America movie. Unfortunately, according to Deadline Hollywood, a recent disagreement between Marvel almost saw director Joe Johnston leave the project because high budget talk had the higher-ups at Marvel asking him to take a paycut. They worked it out, but now they still face the task of filling the role of the last uncast Avenger and Deadline has gotten a hold of the short list of top contenders which includes: Chace Crawford, Scott Porter, Mike Vogel, Michael Cassidy, Garret Hedlund and John Krasinski!?

Tavis Coburn's Gorgeous BAFTA 'Best Film' Retro Poster Set
Whoa! Everyone knows I love a good poster, but these are phenomenal. Apparently BAFTA (the British Academy of Film and Television Arts), who just announced this year's winners of their awards earlier this week, commissioned illustrator Tavis Coburn of Dutch Uncle to create a series of new posters for each of the five Best Film nominees from 2009 (which were: Avatar, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Precious, and Up in the Air). It's becoming increasingly popular to create stylized posters like this and we've seen some great ones recently (like the Quentin Tarantino series). But these posters are incredible, take a look below!

Tobey Maguire Set to Play a Chess Master in 'Pawn Sacrifice'
In a move that will take him from comic book geeks to a whole new level of nerd, former superhero Tobey Maguire may take on the role of famous chess master Bobby Fischer in a project called Pawn Sacrifice. This bit of news comes from a brief mention in the same Deadline Hollywood article that announced Matt Damon's turn as Robert F. Kennedy, but all we know is that Steven Knight wrote the script which focuses on Fischer around the year 1972, which is when the legendary player faced off against Russian chess champion Boris Spassky in a highly publicized match that went hand in hand with the Cold War tensions of the time.

Julie Delpy Directing Yet Again with French Comedy 'Skylab'
After the recent announcement of a New York based follow-up to the indie romantic comedy 2 Days in Paris, it's a surprise to hear that French actress turned director Julie Delpy is lining up another directing gig so soon, as Comme Au Cinema (via The Playlist) reports she is set to direct the French language comedy Skylab, which focuses on an eccentric family around the time the titular NASA space station came crashing down to Earth in 1979 just six years after going into orbit. Being the diverse filmmaker she is, Delpy will also star in the film along with another actress/director Noemie Lvovsky as well as Eric Elmonsnino.

Matt Damon Cast as Robert F. Kennedy in Gary Ross' Biopic
Fresh off an Oscar nominated performance as real life South African rugby player Francois Pienaar, the eclectic Matt Damon looks to be lining up another role which will have him playing an even bigger real-life persona as Deadline Hollywood reports he just closed a deal to star as the late U.S. senator and civil rights activist Robert F. Kennedy in a new biopic that will be directed by Gary Ross (Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) from a script by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises). Although Damon is attached, the project won't get off the ground until he sees the script, which will largely be based on Evan Thomas' biography His Life in 2002.

Casting Tidbits: Freida Pinto, Donald Faison, Anjelica Huston
It was Casting Tidbits killed the beast. First up, Variety reports that the lovely Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) has signed on to star in War of the Gods, the Tarsem Singh directed story of young warrior Theseus (Henry Cavill) who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil and the powerful elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind. Pinto will play Phaedra, an oracle priestess who must join Theseus on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting. The most recent draft of the script came from Jason Keller and it sounds like a potentially awesome project. Read on for more casting.
