Woohoo! im sold! i love predator movies and this one does look alot better than the past three predator movies that have been made.. it has a good cast (unlike either of the avp movies), it has new ideas, but at the same time it doesnt go to far from the original predator.. i cant wait to see it!

Looks like a terrible retread of the original, just with a different cast and more predators.

Nothing will EVER top the original. It has some of the best raw suspense ever to be put on film, not to mention colourful characters that you actually give a shit about. Plus, it was made in an era where films were still being cared for.

One predator was scary enough. Ten predators. Oh, yawn….but the fish will lap it up.

Love the shot of Fishburne holding the Predator helmet in the beginning. I agree with most everyone who said this looks better than expected. Love some of the nods to the original…so far, namely the gattling gun and that capture net shot.

Although, haven't been a fan of any movie with Michelle Rodriguez…but I'm still in. See you in July:)

Ummmm…anyone who saw and liked the original is a "dumbass" only excited by action probably only liked the action scenes from TF2 and nothing else. I'm going to give some advice to everyone who is excited and pumped for this movie. Don't be. Don't get your hopes up for this movie at all. That way when it turns out worse than you expected it to be you won't feel upset about it.

At best this movie could be half as good as Terminator Salvation. At best. I have read the script and it is piss poor stupid, and that was after it already went through 2 or 3 drafts. Rodriquez's first draft was one of the worst things I've ever read.

For everyone that thinks this will be any better than those awful AVP movies, personally I don't see how it could be. What made the AVP movies so bad? In my opinion it was the some of the predator weaponry namely the wrist blades that were the size of katanas. Looked so stupid. They should have just had the predators walking around with swords. If you look at the teaser poster for Predators it clearly shows that they picked up the trend from AVP. The other thing that made the movies so awful was that you didn't give a rat's ass about the human characters, at times I was personally rooting for them to get killed. This movie is no different. Almost all of the characters are essentially criminals. Why should I give a shit if they die? I don't. The first Predator movie was a lot better at making you care for the humans because they were fucking war heroes who were on a mission to supposedly rescue hostages.

I'm not knocking action movies. I love them just as much as the next guy but story is important in any kind of cinema. Story is what separates cinema from stuff like "video art", which at times is just showing footage of meaningless things with no plot devices at all. If the story is complete shit, you really don't have a movie. Just images of people getting killed by familiar creatures, another reason AVP failed, and why this movie will fail as well.

All I'll say is the scripts made the rounds and I've read it. There seems to be a unanimous agreement that the script is complete and utter shit. I'll admit, the trailer was pretty decent, but don't expect great things from the actual film.

For those of you that care, there is literally zero plot. The script actually starts with them randomly falling from the sky and being hunted by Predators. Eventually we find out they are there to be hunted, like the trailer states, but it is never fully explained.

This looks terrible. As a fan of the original who was sorely disappointed by AVP 1 (didn't have the stomach to see AVP 2), I can tell you it's all you suckers who think this looks good that allows them to make crap like AVP.

@ Torg being a fan of the original myself (My Dad ad I watched it together when I was like 7 and it has remained a classic) and a hater of the AVP films, this looks like it paid homage to what the Thomas Brothers and McTiernan crafted, nothing can beat Predator, but Predators is hopefully ignoring AVP and staying in the realm of Predator and it looks like Antal and Rodriguez have created a great follow up to the classic.

I'm a big fan of Robert Rodriguez. But when he first started making this film he said that it would be a direct sequal to the original and it would be ignoring Predator 2, AVP and AVP 2. Now I can understand him wanting to ignore both the AVP films. They were really bad, but to ignore Predator is stupid. That movie kicked Ass. Loved every minute of it. So when I heard he was ignoring Predator 2 I told myself that I wont be watching his new version.

But now I think I'm going to have to change my mind because this film looks awesome. I am sure that I'm not the only one out there that loved Predator 2 though. The film was fun stuff. They didn't carbon copy the first film at all. It had a younger Predator and he battled against Jamacian Drug Lords and a very pissed off Danny Glover. He had new weapons and the film was more violent than the first film.

I don't think the "Predators" ever had the gravitas (or the scaryness) that the "Aliens" had in their respective movies. Therefore bringing them together was a bit like bringing together Go-Bots and Transformers….IE something really great and original with something hmmokay and pretty unoriginal.

The only plus is that Arnie is in the orginial Predator with a great cast of meaty 80's action stars.

Ideas for possible plot details: if there are 2 predator tribes on the planet, maybe they are enemies and kill each other and leave their bodies at their camp entrances tied to a tree to warn the enemy. that would explain the dead predator tied to the tree in the sneak peak possibly. the predators could possibly control the direction the humans run in by setting traps and making them split up. if the predators do that then they could separate and see who gets the most kills. it might be a competition. i think that would make more sense, because 3 predators against 9 people means certain death for the humans. its just ridiculous. i don't know, i think it would be cool if the predator tribes were fighting each other in the movie and then the idea of the predators competing for kills. or maybe i smoke too much from my tobacco water pipe…

This looks awful. When the guy suddenly has not one, but many targeting lasers appear on him, it just reeks of pure cheese. I'll watch it when it goes to disc and not be surprised that it sucks. The Alien and Predator franchises have both been dealt mortal blows already. Maybe Ridley Scott can salvage Alien with his prequels, but the Predator is irreparably cartoonish by now.
