Gorgeous Trailer for Xavier Dolan's 'Les Amours Imaginaires'

Les Amours Imaginaires Trailer

Whoa. This is one of those teaser trailers that will certainly amaze you. Well, at least that's what happened to me. Courtesy of our friends at The Playlist comes this absolutely stunning, must watch teaser trailer for Xavier Dolan's new upcoming Cannes film Les Amours Imaginaires, or just Heartbeats in the US. I'm not even really sure what this is about, but it looks like a synopsis clears things up: The story of three close friends who are involved in a love-triangle. Obviously not everyone is going to like this, but I'm now much more excited to see this in Cannes in a few weeks! It looks like it will be incredible. Just watch this!

Sound Off: Sam Bayer's A Nightmare on Elm Street - Thoughts?

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Horror mastermind Wes Craven started this franchise 26 years ago and arriving in theaters today is Platinum Dunes' brand new remake/reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street. How is this new horror remake from Michael Bay's infamous company? How does it compare to the original movie from 1984? How is Jackie Earle Haley as the new Freddy Krueger? How are the kills and how is Freddy's origin story? Does it deserve the low 15% from critics that it has on Rotten Tomatoes? If you've seen it, then leave a comment below and let us know what you thought of Nightmare on Elm Street!

John Singleton to Direct and Produce Action Thriller 'Layover'

John Singleton

While most people get pissed off at the mere mention of a layover in their travel plans, it looks like director John Singleton has sought one out for himself as Variety reports that Singleton has signed on to produce and direct the action thriller titled Layover. Written by Jay Longino & Michael Browning, the story centers on an ex-con whose family is kidnapped by a group of corrupt TSA agents while on a seven-hour layover (I'd be more pissed at the seven-hour layover). No word on casting yet, however, this is still a long ways off since Singleton will next direct another thriller, titled Abduction, starring the much swooned-over Taylor Lautner.

Chris Nolan's Third Batman to Hit Theaters in Summer 2012!

The Dark Knight

It looks like the summer of 2012 is going to be one hell of a big blockbuster bonanza, especially in the comic book arena. Not only has Sony already announced it will release its Spider-Man franchise reboot on July 3rd of 2012, but Warner Bros has finally announced today that they will be releasing the third installment of the Batman franchise from Christopher Nolan on July 20th, 2012. And since The Dark Knight had about a year and a half of production/post-production between shooting's commencement in January of 2007 and its release in July of 2008, there's a good chance Nolan will start shooting this final sequel early next year.

First Look: A Creepy Hank Azaria as Gargamel in The Smurfs

Hank Azaria as Gargamel in The Smurfs

Until today, I honestly wasn't that excited for Sony's The Smurfs movie, even though it has an impressive cast. But after checking out these creepy/awesome photos of actor Hank Azaria (who also voices Moe and Chief Wiggum on The Simpsons) on set in full costume as the creepy live-action Gargamel, I'm now totally sold on this. The photos come from Splash News by way of ComingSoon and were shot on the streets of New York City, as the plot in the movie takes the lil' blue guys out of their peaceful village to the streets of the Big Apple. I'm already getting an Enchanted vibe from this and it's not even a Disney movie. So check these out!

Fox Offers X-Men: First Class to Matthew Vaughn? Not So Fast

Matthew Vaughn / X-Men

It was confirmed a month ago that Bryan Singer would no longer be directing Fox's X-Men: First Class prequel, even though he had announced himself that he would be. We've been waiting for Fox to figure out who would replace Singer, as they're very anxious to get this shooting soon or they probably would've waited for Singer to finish Jack and the Giant Killer. While this isn't a done deal, Entertainment Weekly says that Fox has offered director Matthew Vaughn the opportunity to direct and they say he's "in talks" to take on the gig. But let's not forget that Fox screwed him over on X-Men 3, which he was supposed to direct as well.

Watch This: Full Theatrical Trailer for Piranha 3D Unleashed

Piranha 3D Trailer

How fast can you swim? Earlier this week we re-published the original teaser trailer for Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3D that showed in front of Avatar last year. However, Dimension Films has finally debuted the official theatrical trailer for Piranha 3D that's longer, deadlier, and funnier than that first one. As insanely cheesy as this looks (how many women in bikinis can you spot?), I've got to admit that it just looks like pure fun, like a true throwback to the horror of the 70's. I know this definitely isn't for everyone, but some of you may find that this looks frickin' awesome. And holy crap, it's SO good to see Christopher Lloyd again!

First Look: New 4-Wheel Vehicle on the Tron Legacy Billboard

Tron Billboard

Disney as debuted the latest billboard photo that will be on display in Los Angeles as part of their 12-month billboard buy out. This time the banner features a new vehicle never seen before (although hinted at in the teaser trailer) - a four wheel lightcycle-inspired racing vehicle that may or may not have the ability to go off the track. As I was on the set of Tron Legacy last year, I'd already seen some concept art of this currently unnamed vehicle before, but didn't get to see it action and finished. I also have a feeling this may not be the only new vehicle in the Tron world that we'll see in Tron Legacy when this movie hits theaters in December.

Must Watch: Official Teaser Trailer for Ryan Reynolds' Buried

Buried

Lionsgate has taken another bold step in marketing the upcoming Ryan Reynolds stuck in a coffin film Buried by releasing this teaser trailer which contains pretty much no footage. Actually, this is footage from the movie as this is how it starts out, and it's a brilliant way of introducing audiences to the concept and the claustrophobic world of Buried without showing any more footage than necessary. I'm worried that they're going to show too much of this in trailers and clips because it takes place 100% inside of a coffin and there's only so much you should watch to prevent the experience from being ruined. But this teaser is just perfect!

Tommy Lee Jones Joining The First Avenger: Captain America?

Tommy Lee Jones / Captain America

We heard that you've been missing out on taking your dose of rumors with huge grain of salt, so we went ahead and picked up your prescription. This is a big rumor coming from UGO, who reports that Tommy Lee Jones is in negotiations to appear in Captain America: The First Avenger. Obviously he won't be playing Cap, and Red Skull has already been handed to Hugo Weaving, so your guess is as good as ours who Jones might be playing in the flick, but with its WWII setting, I'm sure there are plenty of gruff generals for him to play, or maybe he's the man who will oversee the super soldier serum program that produces Cap.

First Photo of Chris Hemsworth as Kenneth Branagh's Thor!

Thor

Everyone is going crazy this morning over this very first official photo from Marvel of our new hero Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder Thor in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming comic book movie Thor. This photo comes from Yahoo and is pretty much just a sleek close-up shot of the next Marvel superhero we'll see on the big screen next summer. This is officially our very first look at anything from the movie and I've got to say it's exactly what I was expecting but still exciting and perfect in terms of carrying over the design and look from the comics. I can't wait to see what he looks like with the winged helmet on and hammer, too!

Noah Baumbach Won't Actually Direct Mr. Popper's Penguins

Noah Baumbach / Ben Stiller & Mr. Popper's Penguins

Back on April Fool's Day we reported real news that Noah Baumbach and Ben Stiller might follow their collaboration on Greenberg with a different kind of film by adapting the Newbery Award Winning children's book Mr. Popper's Penguins. However, 24 Frames says that Baumbach has fallen away from the project and will not direct, and since Stiller's interest in the project was linked to Baumbach's involvement, there's a good chance he just might leave it behind as well. This is pretty disappointing news after Baumbach did such stellar work co-writing Wes Anderon's adaptation of another beloved children's book, Fantastic Mr. Fox.
