Matthew Vaughn May Adapt Jonathan Ross' Comic 'Turf' Next

Jonathan Ross' Turf

With the much buzzed Kick-Ass making its way to theaters this weekend (watch the trailer if you haven't), everyone is already wondering what director/producer Matthew Vaughn will do next. We just heard that he might be onboard to direct an adaptation of the 90's comic Bloodshot, but there may be another comic book adaptation lined up instead as UK's The Guardian talked with one of Britain's most famous, Jonathan Ross, who not only hosts a popular talk show and has hosted the BAFTA's for a few years, but has written a comic book called Turf, a crime thriller with aliens and vampires that might just be Vaughn's next project.

Watch This: Ryan Reynolds & Jeff Daniels in Paper Man Trailer

Paper Man Trailer

Never heard of this movie? Exactly. The first official trailer for Paper Man starring Jeff Daniels and Ryan Reynolds as his "imaginary superhero friend." Whoa! While everyone is buzzing about what Reynolds will look like in Green Lantern, we can actually watch him play another faux superhero in this film. Paper Man premiered at the LA Film Festival last year, as it is an indie production, but hasn't really made waves at any festival. That said, this doesn't look amazing, but it looks good, in a charming sort of way (isn't it supposed to be a comedy, though?). Anyway, if you actually want to see Reynolds in tights today, well, here you go!

The Green Lantern Costume Will Be Entirely CG in the Movie

Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern

This is probably the most interesting and soon-to-be the most controversial news you'll hear all month (I'm sure someone will be angered by this). SlashFilm is reporting that they've confirmed with multiple sources that a rumor about the Green Lantern costume being entirely CGI in the movie is true. Apparently Ryan Reynolds has been wearing a grey motion capture suit with white LEDs, very similar to how Dr. Manhattan looked on set during Watchmen. Before everyone goes crazy and boycotts the entire movie, apparently the reason for doing this (without actually seeing any finished photos to prove it) is actually pretty damn good.

Day X Viral Game for Angelina Jolie's Salt is Launching Soon?

Day X Exists License Plate

If you've seen the trailers for Sony's summer action movie Salt starring Angelina Jolie, you'll know that it has some kind of mysterious double crossing secret agent storyline where Jolie's actually a Russian spy. As expected with a plot like that, Sony is soon launching a big viral for the movie called the Day X Exists Game where users "become an undercover agent on the hunt for the elusive fugitive Evelyn Salt and stop the mysterious Day X plot." There's nothing on the website for the game yet besides a sign-up, so it hasn't started, but there are clues out there, like that website URL found in the trailer as seen in the photo above.

Four New Photos from Christopher Nolan's Inception Debut!

Inception

If you're like me, you're probably ready to sit down and watch Christopher Nolan's Inception right now, as it sounds like (what little we know) it'll be incredible and we've seen barely enough without ruining any of it. To go along with all of that recent buzz, Hero Complex has premiered four new spoiler-free (sort of) photos from Inception that, for the most part, look pretty damn cool. They come as a compliment to the article from last week that unveiled a lot of plot details by way of a set visit and made lots of people quite excited (myself included). The first three are stills from the movie and the last one is a set photo, as you can probably tell.

Details Emerge on the New Jack Ryan Movie with Chris Pine

Chris Pine

Just before the end of '09, we got confirmation that Chris Pine would indeed be stepping into the shoes previously filled by Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck before him as the new Jack Ryan, the CIA analyst who is the subject of a series of Tom Clancy's political thriller novels. Now the scoop machine Pajiba has gotten some new details on the project which is now tentatively titled Moscow, and has Ryan heading to (you guessed it) Russia to continue his financial advising work (before he joined the CIA) for a billionaire employer who sets him up to take the fall for terrorist plot designed to collapse the US economy.

Todd Phillips & Joel Silver Working on a Super Secret Comedy

Todd Phillips

Take the director of such comedy hits as The Hangover and the the super-producer of such films as The Matrix and Sherlock Holmes and put them on the same project and Deadline says you get a $12 million, super raunchy comedy going by the codename Project X, which will have British commercial director Nima Nourizadeh making his feature directorial debut, for producers Joel Silver and Todd Phillips, supposedly with an entire cast of unknown actors. The real title and its concept are being kept secret, and only fractions of the watermarked script will be given to the potential college age actors auditioning for it.

Two Actors Have Passed: Farewell to a Munchkin and a Cricket

Meinhardt Raabe / Eddie Carroll

Sad news hit a few days apart last week as Deadline reports actors Eddie Carroll and Meinhardt Raabe have passed away. Though you may not know them by name, you certainly know them by their most iconic characters. Raabe played the Munchkin coroner in the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz who so succinctly proclaimed The Wicked Witch of the West was "really most sincerely dead." Meanwhile, Carroll voiced quite possibly the most famous insect of all-time: the lovable Jiminy Cricket. Carroll inherited decades of work as the longest recurring Disney character after the original voice actor, Cliff Edwards, passed away in 1973.

Summit Picks Up Rights to Young Adult Series 'Homelanders'

The Last Thing I Remember

Fantasy seems to have the young adult novel adaptation market locked down, however, slowly but surely, thrillers are on the rise. Last month we heard about an adaptation of the intriguing sounding novel Little Brother and now THR reports that Summit Ent. has picked up the rights to Homelanders, a young-adult book series by Andrew Klavan which is said to be a mix of The Bourne Identity and Disturbia about a high school student named Charlie who wakes up tied to a chair, not knowing where he is or how a whole year has passed. After he manages to escape, he embarks on an adventure to find out why everyone is after him.

Greek Director Dennis Iliadis Will Have to 'Pay the Ghost' Next

Dennis Iliadis

After directing Last House on the Left, last year's remake of the brutal 1972 Wes Craven film of the same name, it looks like director Dennis Iliadis will move into the realm of the supernatural as Variety reports he has signed on to direct the thriller Pay the Ghost, a Dan Kay scripted adaptation of a short story from author Tim Lebbon which kicks off on Halloween night, when a couple's son is mysteriously abducted. A year later, they begin to sense his presence in frightening ways. A string of terrifying clues leads them to search for the boy in New York, where they uncover ancient secrets and discover a vicious, vengeful spirit.

Indie Trailer Sunday: The Disappearance of Alice Creed Trailer

The Disappearance of Alice Creed Trailer

Before British actress Gemma Arterton was being given big Hollywood roles (Prince of Persia, Clash of the Titans) she starred in various British indie films, including this one. The Disappearance of Alice Creed was the last film I saw at the Toronto Film Festival last year but is still one film that has stuck with me ever since (read my review). It's somewhat of a thriller about two guys who kidnap a girl for ransom, but plan out everything meticulously, and it would've gone off without a hitch if -- well, you'll see what happens in the trailer. Thankfully this doesn't give away too much, as it still is just a UK trailer for now. Check it out.

Logan Lerman NOT Actually the Frontrunner for Spider-Man

Logan Lerman / Spider-Man

Back in February, we passed on reporting rumors about Logan Lerman meeting with Sony to potentially be cast as your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler in the Spider-Man reboot. Shortly after the news swept the web, it was squashed by THR just as quickly. At the time, the news had hit a bit too soon since the studio hadn't even closed a deal with director Marc Webb yet, but now the exact same casting rumor is back with a vengeance as HitFix has learned exclusively from their source that is apparently close to the production that Lerman is "almost 100% locked" to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in at least three forthcoming movies.
