Tony and Sir Ridley Scott Want to Restructure and Run MGM?
We haven't been staying up to date on the MGM sale recently because it's all high level business stuff and there hasn't been anything interesting to report until now. The Financial Times is reporting (via Deadline) that Tony and Sir Ridley Scott "have expressed interest in running MGM, according to people familiar with the situation." They've also submitted a "restructuring plan" to the studio and it's financial backers in hopes of getting them to agree to the proposal with them as the new management. Talk about a landmark deal if this actually goes through. Ridley and Tony Scott take over Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, founded in 1924.

Watch This: Lisa Cholodenko's 'The Kids Are All Right' Trailer
Focus Features has premiered the official trailer for Lisa Cholodenko's Sundance comedy sensation The Kids Are All Right starring Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Annette Bening, Mia Wasikowska, and Josh Hutcherson. This is a bit of a hard sell because it's about a lesbian family and their children who decide to bring their real father into the family because they were both conceived by artificial insemination, however, they do make this very light and cheery. It was also Brandon's #3 favorite film of Sundance and many, many critics loved it. So take their word for it and check this out, you may find that it looks entertaining after all.

Brad Bird Now in Final Negotiations to Direct MI:4 After All!
A few weeks back, we reported that The Incredibles and Ratatouille director Brad Bird was one of three contenders to direct Mission Impossible 4 for Paramount. Well, NY Mag's Vulture is now claiming that they've heard from insiders that Bird has won them over and is in final negotiations to direct, but only if he agrees to a lower fee (since directing for three years on animated movies earned him more than they want to pay him now). This is fantastic news, as I was incredibly excited to hear that Bird's first live-action film might be the follow-up to J.J. Abrams' intense third Mission Impossible that I know lots of people enjoyed.

If You Want to Watch It: Sex and the City 2's Theatrical Trailer
Women are going to go crazy for this! Warner Bros has debuted the theatrical trailer for Sex and the City 2 starring the whole gang: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. We also get a good look at where the stories takes us - literally to Abu Dhabi and off the streets of Manhattan (I wonder if they really shot this in Abu Dhabi?). I'm not sure so many guys are into this, but women will turn out in droves and Sex and the City 2 is going to ravage movie theaters in May, so get ready for it. Either plan to be there with all your friends on May 28 or stay as far away as possible. I'll leave the choice up to you. Enjoy!

Creative 'Viral' Pizza Planet Ads for Toy Story 3 College Event
You gotta love this stuff! This isn't a full-fledged viral or anything like that, but some flyers have been found taped up at college campuses around the US (via both SlashFilm and MovieViral). The ads simply say "Now Hiring Drivers" with a photo of the Pizza Planet truck that has infamously appeared in every single Pixar movie to date, with its origins obviously coming from the first Toy Story. The URLs at the bottom links to a Facebook page with info about Disney's special Toy Story 3 "Cliffhanger Edition" screenings (the first 65 minutes) being held at colleges to focus on the kids who grew up with Toy Story and are now college aged.

Tom Arnold Also Lands a Role in Peter Berg's Battleship Movie
In what might one of the most spot on casting announcements recently (who doesn't think of Tom Arnold when casting a crazy Naval officer), Movieline has learned that Tom Arnold has indeed joined the cast of Peter Berg's Battleship movie. Earlier today it was announced that Taylor Kitsch (of Wolverine and John Carter of Mars) will be playing one of the leads, but it was Arnold himself who leaked the news about being on-board this project. Apparently he left a comment on another article saying, "Doing Pete Berg’s Battleship in Australia in August, got my kids camp and indies for Sundance plus the standup and comedy special."

First Look: Early Creature Concept Art for Next Riddick Film
Back in early February it was officially announced that another Chronicles of Riddick sequel titled simply Riddick was on the way, in pre-production at Universal, with shooting starting later this year (I believe). Franchise creator David Twohy will be back directing a script he wrote and word is that this will be "closer in tone to the cult hit Pitch Black and will focus on the character of Riddick as opposed to the universe he inhabits." Perfect. Riddick himself, Vin Diesel, just posted a photo on his Facebook (via Ain't It Cool News) earlier today giving us our first look at some early concept art from Riddick, which you can check out below.

Barry Sonnenfeld Helping Develop 'Pig Scrolls' at DreamWorks
DreamWorks Animation seems to be putting a lot of different adaptations into development. Add another one to their slate, this time an adaptation of Paul Shipton's novel Pig Scrolls about a talking pig who was transformed into the beast by the goddess Circe on her island. The story follows Gryllus and his endeavors to save the world (in Ancient Greece), plus it includes all the ancient Greek gods. Basically, Hollywood is a bit obsessed with Greek history at the moment (Percy Jackson, Clash of the Titans, War of the Gods) and now DreamWorks wants their Greek gods movie, too. So that's where Barry Sonnenfeld comes into play.

Clive Owen and Daniel Bruhl Cast in Fresnadillo's 'Intruders'
What happened to BioShock? Heat Vision is reporting that Clive Owen and German actor Daniel Bruhl, who played Fredrick Zoller in Inglourious Basterds, have been cast in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's new thriller Intruders. Shooting is supposed to start in June in London and Madrid. So it looks like BioShock really has been delayed again, since that was possibly going to be Fresnadillo's next movie after Gore Verbinski left the project. Oh right, it's Universal, they're canceling everything that could be good. So what is Intruders about? Well, all we know is that the story centers on an 11-year old girl who's forced to confront childhood demons.

Must Watch: Badass New 'The Losers' Sizzle Reel Hits the Web
Warner Bros has debuted what they're calling a "sizzle reel" for The Losers that features an extended clip at the start and a bunch of footage at the end. This is the same thing they showed at WonderCon that's just being put online (edited for profanity and violence, sadly). Does that not look insanely fun or what?! I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty damn excited for this. It just looks like a hell of a good time with a lot of great characters, including a former Na'vi, all kicking some ass and blowing shit up. What a way to kick off the summer... before we even get to Iron Man 2! Give this one last shot, as it's the last footage we'll all see!

Aziz Ansari Lands the Lead in Fleischer's '30 Minutes or Less'
After hearing official confirmation just yesterday that Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer would indeed be directing the upcoming action comedy 30 Minutes or Less, we now have word from THR that comedian Aziz Ansari (Funny People, "Parks & Recreation") has landed the leading role in the story of a junior high history teacher (Ansari) and a pizza-delivery man who are forced to rob a bank when one of them is strapped to a bomb vest. The role of the pizza guy is yet to be cast, however, Danny McBride is still in talks to play one of the bad guys looking for some quick cash. I'm really liking this combination of fast-rising talent thus far.

Microsoft Says Halo Movie Will Happen 'When the Time is Right'
This is pretty much more of the same, but oh well. Although IGN (via ComingSoon) was able to get a new quote out of Microsoft Game Studios' Franchise Development Director Frank O'Connor about the Halo movie, it's not exactly what we were hoping to hear. Our last update (appropriately titled "No Surprise") from late last year confirmed that a cinematic adaptation of the video game is still on hold, which still seems to be the case. However, O'Connor did address the "issue" at the MI6 Conference in San Francisco last week and basically said that it will happen, just not anytime soon, as they've still got a lot of planning to do first.
