DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon Sequel Coming in 2013

How to Train Your Dragon

After surprising audiences with a movie that was leaps and bounds better than most of their previous work, and even gaining buzz at a Pixar level of praise, DreamWorks Animation is looking to recapture the magic of How to Train Your Dragon as the studio has just announced a sequel to the film that reclaimed the top box office spot last weekend. Honestly, with all the success and positive word of mouth its received, I can't say I'm surprised. It has grossed over $370 million worldwide, and with the Shrek franchise fading (the final chapter, Shrek Forever After, arrives this summer) they'll need another good bankable series to fill theaters.

Anchorman 2 Might Happen, It Just Needs a Studio Greenlight

Anchorman

Ever since Anchorman came out in 2004, there have been rumors of a sequel. Our last update was back in 2008 and even back then it didn't seem like it would ever happen. However, after years of waiting, director Adam McKay told MTV that everyone is on-board (from Applegate to Carell to Rudd) for Anchorman 2 and now they're just waiting for a greenlight and money from Paramount before taking the next step. "It's a tricky movie because everyone went and did really well after it, so everyone's prices went up... But at the same time, graciously, Steve and Paul and everyone agreed to cut their price to come and do [the sequel]."

Another Classic 'Great Escape' Poster for Pixar's Toy Story 3!

Pixar's Toy Story 3

With the summer movie season only a week away from kicking off, everyone should be getting pretty excited by now. One of the highlights, arriving in June, is obviously Pixar's Toy Story 3. Although I've seen it and didn't love it as much as Pixar's other recent movies, I love this poster, it's one of my favorite designs along with the other official final Toy Story 3 poster. This is obviously inspired by the 1963 Steve McQueen WWII classic The Great Escape, and the poster designs are even somewhat similar. Thanks to Empire for debuting this new poster, as it's international so you probably won't see it up at any of your local theaters. Have fun!

Neil Marshall to Adapt the British TV Series The Professionals

Neil Marshall

While the United Kingdom will be able to enjoy Neil Marshall's epic Centurion this weekend (watch the trailer), over here in the US it looks like we'll be waiting until August for the theatrical release. Though the director already has the Sam Raimi produced Burst 3-D in his future, Empire reports that it looks like Marshall has also set his sights on adapting the classic 70's British TV series The Professionals, which followed tough guys Bodie and Doyle busting crime and terror at home and abroad for law enforcement outfit CI5. As if we expected anything less, Marshall describes the flick as "a hard-hitting action movie."

Casting Tidbits: Josh Groban, Ryan Phillippe, Lindsay Lohan

Josh Groban, Ryan Phillippe, Lindsay Lohan

These Casting Tidbits taste like snozberries! First, Variety reports that Marisa Tomei and chart-topping recording artist Josh Groban have joined the John Requa and Glenn Ficarra untitled marital crisis comedy featuring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Kevin Bacon and also Emma Stone. In a story that centers on a father whose life unravels as he deals with spousal problems and tries to manage his relationship with his children, Tomei will play the first woman that Carell's character dates after he's been schooled by Gosling's character in the art of meeting women. Meanwhile, Groban, making his feature film debut, will play Stone's boyfriend.

The Ring 3-D is This Week's Completely Unnecessary Sequel

The Ring

After scaring audiences away from VHS tapes forever with the 2002 hit horror movie The Ring, which was a remake of the 1998 Japanese film Ringu, studios murdered almost every single Asian horror film they could find by remaking them in Hollywood. And, of course, a successful horror film can't go with out a sequel, so The Ring 2 followed in 2005. Now they're amping things up with the creepy dark-haired Samara coming out of the big screen to nab audiences as Heat Vision says that The Ring 3-D is on the way with writer David Loucka (Dream House) penning the script, which will apparently be an attempt to reinvent this franchise.

Check This Out: Impressive New Get Him to the Greek Poster

Get Him to the Greek

I came across this fairly impressive Dutch poster for Get Him to the Greek over on IMPAwards. I'm not particularly overly excited for this movie, but I have been impressed by the trailers and I am looking forward to seeing it. I really dig this poster because it's different than anything we've seen before yet it's got a kind of 80's, classic feel to it. I just love the photo of the room and all the girls strewn about and Russell Brand (as the crazy Aldous Snow) swinging on the chandelier. Perfect arrangement, kind of like The Hangover, and if Universal markets it right here in the US, it could be just as big. Anyway, I've said enough, so check it out!

Olivia Thirlby Joins Portman & Kutcher in Friends with Benefits

Olivia Thirlby

Along with big names like Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, it looks like Ivan Reitman's forthcoming sex comedy formerly known as Friends with Benefits is adding quite a collection of indie flare to the cast. Just last week mumblecore favorite Greta Gerwig joined and now The Wrap reports that Olivia Thirlby is in talks to join the 2008 Black Listed comedy as Portman's sister in a story which is described as "an inverse When Harry Met Sally" about two people whose no-strings-attached relationship is threatened when they begin to develop real feelings for one another. Could this be Reitman's return to successful comedic form?

Robert Duvall Confusingly Talks Terry Gilliam's Don Quixote

Robert Duvall

Though his failure in getting the project off the ground was an epic enough venture to make an entire tragic documentary, Keith Fulton & Louis Pepe's Lost in La Mancha, it looks like Terry Gilliam really is back for another round with his Don Quixote project. Back in December, we heard Robert Duvall would be the man from La Mancha, and MovieLine recently caught up with the actor who revealed some details on this iteration of the classic Miguel de Cervantes novel, but it doesn't sound like it's any closer to getting off the ground, and the fact that it has all the craziness we've come to expect from Gilliam doesn't bode well for it.

Watch This: Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3-D First Teaser Trailer

Piranha 3-D Teaser Trailer

We're re-running the same teaser trailer for Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3-D that first debuted this January because it's now officially online (via Heat Vision). This is the same post with the old comments intact, but the new trailer below. Any changes in opinion? I still think this looks fun, but will it be any good? I'm not sure. This horror film boasts an impressive cast including Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Dina Meyer, and Richard Dreyfuss. If you haven't seen it yet or just want to watch it again, then check out the Piranha 3-D teaser trailer below. And let us know what you think of it after, too. Enjoy!

Exclusive Debut: First Teaser Poster for Ryan Reynolds' Buried

Buried

We're proud to exclusively debut this first official teaser poster for Rodrigo Cortés' Buried starring Ryan Reynolds and only Ryan Reynolds trapped inside of a coffin, buried alive, in the middle of the desert. After its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Lionsgate bought Buried and is bringing it to theaters in October. This is their first official teaser poster for the movie and they've decided to take a very bold step in marketing by showing nothing but Reynolds buried alive and that's it. I actually think it's a gorgeous poster that's very striking. It's a good way to introduce audiences to the film (especially if they've never heard of it).

First Look: Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre with Mia Wasikowska

Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre

It was first announced back in November that young Alice in Wonderland actress Mia Wasikowska would be starring as Jane Eyre in a new adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's seminal novel. Up-and-coming filmmaker Cary Fukunaga, who broke out last year with Sin Nombre, is directing this adaptation of Jane Eyre and is shooting in Derbyshire, England as we speak (for Focus Features / BBC Films). Oddly, the Times Online (via Movieline) somehow scored the first photo of Wasikowska as Eyre in what looks like a screencap from a reel of dailies (if you don't know what that means, just ignore it). Anyway, you can see the first photo below.
