DreamWorks Nabs Monsterpocalypse, Also Wants Tim Burton
Even though Cannes Film Festival is first and foremost a showcase of some spectacular (and sometimes not so spectacular) films and filmmakers, its location in France doesn't stop the festival from being the center of some serious deals between the movers and shakers of Hollywood. Deadline reports another such deal has manifested itself today as DreamWorks has just acquired the rights to the collectible miniatures board game Monsterpocalypse, and the studio is trying to swoon Cannes jury head Tim Burton for his mindgrapes to be what they call the "creative catalyst" of the project. But it doesn't sound like he'll be directing at all.

Jennifer Aniston's New Comedies: Wanderlust & Horrible Bosses
It's quite sad to think that despite the fact Jennifer Aniston starred in one of the best comedies of the last 20 years, Office Space, she couldn't avoid taking on one of the worst-looking comedies of the past 20 years with The Bounty Hunter. But now it looks like she's ready to redeem herself as THR and Deadline have news on two new comedies for Aniston to lend her talents to. The first will see her return to the workplace comedy as she takes on a role in the Seth Gordon (Four Christmases) directed comedy Horrible Bosses, while the second, Wanderlust, will see her paired with Paul Rudd in a new romantic comedy from Judd Apatow.

Colin Farrell & Marion Cotillard Join Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis'
Despite the fact that David Cronenberg hasn't even started shooting his adaptation of The Talking Cure, which is now known as A Dangerous Method, that hasn't stopped him from casting his gestating adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel Cosmopolis as Variety reports Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard have signed on to star. The story (adapted by Cronenberg himself) revolves around a multi-millionaire asset manager (Farrell) who crosses the whole of Manhattan in a stretch limo just for a haircut, but wouldn't you know, he's delayed by a presidential motorcade, anti-globalization demonstrations, and a celebrity funeral. This sounds great.

Romero Hoping to Shoot Two More 'Dead' Films Back-to-Back
There is no other name more synonymous with zombies than the legendary George A. Romero. His 6th "of the Dead" zombie film, Survival of the Dead, is finally due out in theaters later this month. But what's next? Well, our friends from ShockTillYouDrop just walked out of an interview with Romero earlier today and learned that he has "ideas for at least two more Dead projects that he would love to shoot back-to-back, schedule permitting." Of course, it depends on the success of Survival, but if it does well, "he says returning for two more entries would feel like home to him & bringing his family back together." Sounds good to me!

Casting Tidbits: Jessica Biel, Channing Tatum & Kevin Spacey
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my Casting Tidbits! First up, THR reports Jessica Biel and Luke Evans are finalizing deals to star in Vivaldi, a period romance from director Patricia Riggen (Under the Same Moon). Written by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott, the story focuses on a forbidden romance that develops between composer, priest and violin virtuoso Antonio Vivaldi and his protege, singer Anna Tessieri Giro, leading him to write his enduring masterpiece The Four Seasons. So I guess Biel's casting means Anna Tessieri Giro must be really attractive.

Must Watch: J.J. Abrams' Super 8 Official HQ Teaser Trailer!
After showing in theaters in front of Iron Man 2 this weekend, Paramount has debuted the teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams' secret alien project Super 8 online in high def on Apple. I've seen the trailer (in theaters) and it's a fantastic introduction and perfect tease, just like Cloverfield, and I'm glad it doesn't show more than it does. I'm sure that Abrams won't be showing us what this alien looks like until the movie comes out, and I'm fine with that (although I'm sure it'll be leaked). If you haven't seen this trailer, you should definitely check it out. Oddly, there seems to be extra footage at the end, but I'm not sure if it has to do with the viral or not.

Surprise: Captain America & Other Marvel Movies May Go 3D
Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Honestly, I'm surprised there was no 3D talk for Iron Man 2, but that's besides the point (and there was some talk anyway). Hero Complex published an article earlier today with quotes from Marvel's Kevin Feige: "The team has been doing a lot of research into 3-D processes, and we're looking at it on future films when we have the time," he said. "We will be doing it at some point." So it's essentially inevitable, big surprise (again). They go on to say that Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers could even "potentially be filmed with 3-D cameras," but that seems like speculation for now.

New 3D Judge Dredd Moving Forward with Director Pete Travis
Over two years ago we heard about a brand new Judge Dredd film which we heard last September was set to be written by Alex Garland, who's responsible for writing Danny Boyle's Sunshine and the screenplay for the adaptation of the video game Halo which just can't seem to get off the ground. Well, more information has come to light as Deadline reports the film has just gained some financing in a big pre-sale at the Cannes Film Festival where it was revealed that Pete Travis (Vantage Point) would be directing a 3D adaptation of the comic book, which is poised to distance itself from the repugnant Sylvester Stallone attempt from 1995.

Phew: Twins Will Not Be Back in Michael Bay's Transformers 3
Oh hell no! Although there were many problems with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, one of the most hated aspects of it were the annoying "Twins" autobots: Skids and Mudflap. Although we learned after the fact that they were actually the creation of Michael Bay (not the writers), we were all hoping they wouldn't return in the sequel. Well, bad news, as the TFLAMB has spotted the two cars (the Chevy Beat & Chevy Trax) on set in downtown Los Angeles this week for Transformers 3. While they don't have any actual photos, a reader claims they "saw the Autobot 'twins' zooming around" and shot a video of another car getting hurled.

Christoph Waltz & More Cast in Anderson's Three Musketeers
One of two upcoming projects about on the legendary Three Musketeers comes from lackluster director Paul W.S. Anderson, but it looks like his cast is shaping up to be quite the impressive round-up of talent as Heat Vision reports Ray Stevenson (The Book of Eli), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) and Matthew Macfadyen (Robin Hood) have been cast as Porthos, Athos & Aramis respectively, while Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) will play the young aspiring musketeer D'Artagnan. Christoph Waltz will also play the plotting Cardinal Richelieu. That's already got me interested, and there's even a few more that have joined.

Colin Farrell Joining 'Fright Night' Remake & 'Horrible Bosses'
After turning in a solid performance as a country singer in the indie drama Crazy Heart, it looks like Colin Farrell is headed back to the studio for some acting work despite the fact that his last studio film, Miami Vice, was a massive failure on nearly every level. Deadline says the actor is returning to studios in a big way with not one, but two very different roles. First, he will take on the role of a charming vampire in the Craig Gillespie directed remake of Fright Night, then he'll move on to star in the Seth Gordon directed comedy Horrible Bosses with fellow comedic actor Paul Rudd. Guess which one of these I actually care about?

First Look: Impressive BTS Photos from George Lucas' Red Tails
If only this didn't have George Lucas involved, I might actually be pretty damn excited for it. Earlier today, some new behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Red Tails, the Lucas-produced movie about the WWII Tuskegee Airmen flying squadron, appeared on the FGV Schmidle website (via SlashFilm). FGV is a rental company for cameras and equipment and apparently they wanted to show off some of their stuff that was used on this movie and now we get a pretty awesome behind-the-scenes first look at Red Tails. Maybe I'm just a sucker for war movies, but those old planes they're using look pretty damn cool. Check 'em out below!
