Josh Duhamel & Katherine Heigl's Life as We Know It Trailer
Damn there are a whole bunch of new trailers this week! I guess the studios really want to make sure they had something to show in front of Sex and the City 2 this weekend! Anyway, Warner Bros has put out the trailer for a charming new comedy called Life as We Know It starring two great actors - Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl. I first saw this trailer at ShoWest and actually really liked it, surprisingly more than I thought I would. It starts out super cheesy then gets emotional and fun and becomes very entertaining in the end. I'm looking forward to seeing this in the fall, it might be one of those surprise gems - check it out!

Must Watch: Another New Trailer for Warner Bros' Jonah Hex
In a final attempt to woo audiences into Jonah Hex in just over three weeks, Warner Bros has debuted a second brand new trailer for the new DC Comics adaptation over on IGN (click to see it in high def). Jonah Hex stars Josh Brolin as the disfigured bounty hunter as well as Megan Fox, John Malkovich, Will Arnett, Michael Fassbender, Michael Shannon and Thomas Lennon. We ran the first trailer back in April but this new trailer is a big improvement and definitely worth checking out. I'm still very excited for this; I know the supernatural stuff seems odd, but I love the style and I cannot wait to see a badass western again. Enjoy!

Watch Mikael Håfström's 'Shanghai' Trailer with John Cusack
Wow, this looks fantastic! The Playlist has found the first international trailer for a film called Shanghai, directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström (Derailed, 1408), starring John Cusack, Chow Yun-Fat, Ken Watanabe, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, David Morse, Franka Potente, Li Gong, Rinko Kikuchi, and many more. This actually looks way better than I was expecting - it's just an intense thriller set in Shanghai, China, complete with shoot outs and big secret government conspiracies and so much more. Really looking forward to seeing this after watching the trailer! It should hit some film festivals in the fall as well. Watch this now!

Carl Rinsch Directing Warner Bros' New Logan's Run Remake!
Welcome to the 23rd Century. Heat Vision is reporting that Warner Bros has hired Carl Rinsch, the big up-and-coming director and Ridley Scott protege who most recently directed the The Gift short, to direct their upcoming remake of Logan's Run. We've already known that a remake of this 1979 sci-fi film was in the works, but this is fresh news that we didn't see coming! Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing the project. Back in 2005 Bryan Singer was attached to Logan's Run and was going to direct, but that was a different iteration. Now it's Rinsch's turn to kick some ass! WB is now looking to find a writer for a rewrite.

Atlas Shrugged Film is Shooting in June, But Without a Cast?
The last time we wrote anything about the adaptation of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged that's in the works was way, way back in 2007, when Ukrainian director Vadim Perelman (of House of Sand and Fog and The Life Before Her Eyes) was still attached. We finally have a new update, though, as Deadline is reporting that entrepreneur John Aglialoro, who bought the option on the book some 17 years ago, has announced that he's personally financing the film as an independent feature and will even begin shooting in Los Angeles on June 11th - but he doesn't have any actors lined up yet at all. Uh, how is he going to pull this off last minute?

Watch This: French 80's Throwback 'Day of the Comet' Trailer
Our friends at Ain't It Cool News found this awesome trailer for a French film called Le Jour de la Comete, or Day of the Comet in English. As described by the filmmakers themselves, this fun fantasy/sci-fi flick is an homage to the "Back to the Future generation" of the 80's and films like The Goonies and Gremlins. They also mention Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt, but I think that reference only means that this is just an anthology film. The story is about three kids who makes wishes when they see Halley's Comet but it leads to disaster, so they "therefore have a day to repair the damage." It looks like it'll be a lot of fun - check it out!

Ken Kwapis Might Be Directing a Live-Action 'Dilbert' Movie?
Yep, this about as crazy as they come, but apparently it's happening. The always reliable Pajiba is reporting that Phoenix Pictures (Zodiac, Shutter Island, Black Swan) is developing a live-action feature film based on the Dilbert comics, introduced in 1989 created by Scott Adams. And apparently they've got the director of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, License to Wed, and He's Just Not That Into You - Ken Kwapis - attached to direct. Yes, this will probably be just a feature version of "The Office" and it'll probably end up being pretty awful, mainly because I just can't see Kwapis creating a masterpiece out of Dilbert (can you?).

Casting Tidbits: John Cusack, Jesse Eisenberg & Owen Wilson
Well, hello, beautiful. You must be Harvey's squeeze. And you are beautiful. Well, you look nervous. Is it the Casting Tidbits? You want to know how I got 'em? First up, Bloody Disgusting reports that John Cusack will star in the recently announced thriller, Jack, from director Brad Anderson (The Machinist). The story follows a doctor who rehabilitates and ultimately falls for an accident victim with memory loss, unaware that he is actually a killer. As the killer's memories begin to surface, he must decide whether to make a clean start or embrace the killer within. With Cusack in the mix on this one, I'm definitely all-in. More casting ahead!

John Hillcoat Has a Project Titled The Revenant in the Works?
With John Hillcoat's The Road finally out on DVD (and Blu-Ray) this week, I don't think I'll be the only one wondering when we'll see the next film from John Hillcoat, who showed that he's quite a talented director with that film. Well, although we've heard a bit about The Promised Land (which apparently got shut down), our friends at Bloody-Disgusting got a little scoop about another new project he's currently working on. This one is titled The Revenant, which is supposedly a period action/revenge piece that Anonymous Content is producing and that Christian Bale is in talks to star. Ooh, I like the sound of that. Hopefully it's official.

Must Watch: Trailer for Eli Roth Produced The Last Exorcism
Holy hell this looks creepy! Lionsgate has debuted the official trailer for The Last Exorcism, an Eli Roth produced and Daniel Stamm directed (A Necessary Death) horror film. This new exorcism film is shot like a faux-documentary, kind of Paranormal Activity about evangelical minister's last exorcism, which definitely ups the creepiness of the whole thing. I love that style, but my concern is that audiences may be getting tired of it quickly, but I don't really know. This does look like it will be pretty good, so don't let Eli Roth's name scare you off. If you're a horror film fan or love exorcisms (who doesn't?) then check out this creepy trailer!

Weinsteins' Deal to Buy Back Miramax Falls Apart Last Minute
We first reported back in April, based on a news story published by The Hollywood Reporter, that Bob and Harvey Weinstein were on the verge of securing a massive $600 million deal to buy back Miramax, the distribution company they founded in 1979 and sold off to Disney in 1993, which finally went under last year (and is now being sold off). Although at the time it was confirmed that it wasn't really a done deal yet, there was talk that it still was going to happen sooner or later, and that an announcement might come at Cannes. But now the Wall Street Journal confirms that their talks have failed and Disney is looking at other options.
