Watch Bad Robot's 'Morning Glory' Trailer with Harrison Ford
Paramount has debuted the official trailer for Morning Glory, a J.J. Abrams produced comedy starring Harrison Ford, Rachel McAdams, Patrick Wilson, Jeff Goldblum, Diane Keaton, 50 Cent, and plenty more. The trailer just hit on Apple which means this is also going to be showing in theaters in front of Sex and the City 2 because this is unquestionably a trailer aimed at females, although that's not saying guys can't enjoy it, too. I've been looking forward to this ever since I first heard that Abrams was producing a comedy with Harrison Ford as a news anchorman, but it doesn't really look that great. Maybe it's just me - take a look?

Details on What the RollerCoaster Tycoon Movie is All About
Earlier this month we officially announced that Sony Pictures Animation was developing an adaptation of the video game RollerCoaster Tycoon. As a fan of the game, and simply as a curious moviegoer as well, I didn't quite understand how they would be adapting a strategy theme park management game into a feature film with an actual narrative (the game doesn't have one). The project is being developed by The Karate Kid director Harald Zwart (who we recently interviewed), and Cinema Blend just briefly spoke with him about it. Apparently they're going for a Night at the Museum-like concept with a theme park that "comes to life."

Temuera Morrison Talks Green Lantern, Plus Planned Sequels
Back in March, we heard that Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett from Attack of the Clones) would be playing Abin Sur, a Green Lantern Corps. member who is instrumental in Hal Jordan becoming Green Lantern. Well Latino Review had the unique opportunity to talk with Morrison while he was meeting & greeting fans at Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary Celebration of Empire Strikes Back and of course, they just had to ask about his work on the superhero movie. Morrison said he's already done filming, but apparently there are plans to bring him back for some sequels so we can see his character's full backstory. Interesting.

Zombie-Beatles Writer Creating Elvis-Frankenstein Mash-Up
Yep, another concept-twisting monster mash-up in the works, at least in book form. MTV recently talked with author Alan Goldsher, who wrote the book Paul is Undead - The Beatles as zombies mash-up - that we wrote about a few weeks ago. Goldsher told them about another follow-up book has in the works called Frankenstein Has Left The Building that is an Elvis Presley as Frankenstein mash-up. He explains: "I am taking 'Frankenstein' the book and rewriting it with Elvis [Presley] as the creature." This sounds pretty frickin' cool. It almost reminds me of Bubba Ho-Tep in a way, but I'm sure it'll be way different in the end.

Van Damme & Michelle Yeoh Join the Kung Fu Panda Sequel
After hearing that the fantastic Gary Oldman would be joining the cast of Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom as the film's villain, a peacock, who we now know is named Lord Shen, DreamWorks Animation has announced more talent for the animated action bonanza which will now be released on May 27th, 2011 (Memorial Day weekend). Action stars Jean-Claude Van Damme and Michelle Yeoh have joined along with Victor Garber (Milk, "Eli Stone") to provide voices for 3 new characters: Yeoh plays a goat known as The Soothsayer, and Van Damme & Garber will play Master Croc & Master Thundering Rhino, respectively.

This Week's Unnecessary Remake: Soapdish from Paramount
Someone turned on the remake machine again this week, after all it's been a few days since we heard about another remake, and this time its Pajiba with the scoop on Paramount Pictures remake of the '91 ensemble comedy Soapdish that starred Kevin Kline, Sally Field, Robert Downey Jr, Whoopi Goldberg, Teri Hatcher and Elisabeth Shue. Though the original took place in the world of soap operas, this remake will apparently center around a telenova, though I'm pretty sure that's just a BS buzz word to avoid negative connotations that come with soap operas. As of now, this is still early only in development, as it just went out to writers.

Ridley Scott Diving into 3D By Investing in 3D Tech Company
Back in April we heard from Sir Ridley Scott himself that both of his forthcoming Alien prequels would be shot in 3D. Though we had previously heard Scott was eager to convince Universal execs to convert Robin Hood to 3D in post-production, that story turned out to be false. However, the source of Scott's lingering (or maybe it's sudden) ambition to go 3D crazy may have finally been discovered, as Vulture reports that Scott is now in negotiations to get an ownership stake in one of the top manufacturers of 3D glasses and projection systems - MasterImage 3D. I guess if I owned my own 3D tech company, I'd want my movies in 3D, too.

Disney & Jerry Bruckheimer Making the Jump to 'Lightspeed'
So back in 2004, Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films were behind the highest spec script purchase ever (at the time) when they picked up Terry Rossio & Bill Marsilii's script for what became the Denzel Washington time-traveling crime thriller Deja Vu. The two writers seem to have a knack for ruling the spec market with a big price tag, as Variety reports the writing duo has just sold another high priced (over a million) spec script titled Ludicrous Speed Lightspeed to Disney/Bruckheimer. The story centers on a young pilot on the Earth Interstellar Racing Team who must take his ship on a perilous journey across the galaxy on the brink of war.

Scorsese Wants Pacino/De Niro as Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin
Though this is far from being official casting news, usually when Martin Scorsese wants actors for any project, they're not likely to turn him down. So it's interesting to hear that Scorsese himself told The Hindu (via The Playlist): "I'm yet to spot the actor who can bring back Frank Sinatra alive on screen. My choice is Al Pacino [as Frank Sinatra], and Robert De Niro as Dean Martin." As epic as that sounds, knowing what we do about Scorsese's gestating Frank Sinatra biopic, these two actors won't be playing those iconic singers throughout the whole film, since it's meant to follow Sinatra's life at various ages with many different actors.

The Secret Journeys of Jack London Headed to the Big Screen
If you're making a movie about author Jack London, writer of such famed stories as Call of the Wild, White Fang and The Sea Wolf, you'd probably make an in-depth biopic on the trials and tribulations of the writer, his family and his battles against plagiarism accusations. But instead, writers Christopher Golden and Tim Lebbon decided to turn London into a supernatural adventurer with the novel The Secret Journeys of Jack London: The Wild. Deadline reports Fox 2000 has acquired rights to the series, which follows a young Jack London, before he became a writer, as he treks through the frozen north during the Gold Rush.

Sam Rockwell to Star in 'Sweet Baby Jesus' with UK's Pixie Lott
After being quite the saving grace in a very crowded and bloated (though still mostly satisfying) Iron Man 2, it looks like Sam Rockwell might move from weapons manufacturer to blasphemous comedy as Deadline reports Rockwell is considering joining Bette Midler, Kim Catrall and British pop star Pixie Lott in the film Sweet Baby Jesus. The story follows Joe, a guy who accompanies his pregnant teen girlfriend Mary (Lott) to Bethlehem, Maryland, a town that comes to believe that it's about to witness the Second Coming. What's strange about this one is Peter Hewitt, who recently directed Garfield and Zoom, is at the helm.
