Guillermo del Toro Will Announce Next Project at Comic-Con
So that rumor from last week that director Guillermo del Toro was producing another Van Helsing movie stirred up some interesting news. On del Toro's official website, Del Toro Films (via SlashFilm), the director emailed in an official on-the-record statement about that Helsing rumor and what he does have coming up. "Van Helsing (writing and producing) is still in talks and not quite certain. Even then, I would like to share my plans only at COMICON." So although that Van Helsing news was just a bit premature, we will find out more at the San Diego Comic-Con in late July. Ooooh, now I'm really starting to get excited for Comic-Con!

Must Watch: Wonderful Trailer for Sofia Coppola's Somewhere
Focus Features has debuted the first official trailer for Sofia Coppola's new film Somewhere in high def on Apple. Somewhere stars Stephen Dorff as a "bad-boy actor" stumbling through life who lives in excess at the famous Chateau Marmont hotel, but an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter, played by Elle Fanning, forces him to reexamine his life. I think this looks truly wonderful, potentially a strong awards contender as well, and definitely a superb return to form for Sofia Coppola. The music in this was perfect as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing it, expect to totally love it in the end. Watch the new trailer below!

Tom Hiddleston Lands Second Lead in Spielberg's War Horse?
Though we haven't gotten any official confirmation about the recent news of Eddie Redmayne snagging the lead in Steven Spielberg's big adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's novel War Horse, both The Wrap andĀ the latest issue of Prod Weekly have corroborating reports adding another actor to the cast. Both places say that Tom Hiddleston, who plays the villain Loki in Marvel's adaptation of Thor, has snagged another lead role in Spielberg's emotional epic about a boy (Redmayne) and his horse, who become separated but continue to be intertwined as they try to survive the horrors of WWI. Details on Hiddleston's presumed character below.

First Look: Photos of the 'Mr. Black' Predator from Predators
Holy crap! A few new first look photos have popped up today for a new Predator creature nicknamed "Mr. Black" that will be seen in Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal's upcoming Predators reboot, due out in a few more weeks. The Sideshow Collectibles mask photo comes from Bloody-Disgusting, as Sideshow hasn't actually listed the mask for sale on their site yet. And the other actual photos come from ShockTillYouDrop. The photo on the right, below, is Mr. Black in his full armor (also the same guy seen on this poster) and the other photos are of him without his mask, in pure Predator form. And damn does he look pretty pissed off!

Robert Rodriguez Offered to Direct Marvel's Deadpool Movie
While director Ruben Fleischer is busy working on the action/comedy 30 Minutes or Less, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari, the writing duo behind Zombieland, Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, have been busy writing the script for Fox's adaptation of Marvel's Deadpool. Since the writers were attached to the project back in January, we haven't heard much of anything about the film focusing on the "Merc with a Mouth," but word comes from Prod Weekly (via The Playlist) that an offer is out to Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) to direct the comic book movie, which will see Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool.

Watch: Badass Red Band Trailer for Neil Marshall's Centurion
I made a promise to a General to get his soldiers home. That is my task. That is my duty. Wow, this looks good. Magnet Releasing has debuted a bloody, badass new red band trailer for Neil Marshall's Centurion, the ancient Roman epic starring Michael Fassbender, Dominic West and Olga Kurylenko. We featured the first trailer for this in February and a crazy new poster last week, but this trailer is pretty much all you will need to watch to be convinced to see this (I hope). The new footage gives us a glimpse of the bloodiness and intensity of Neil Marshall's movie that he couldn't show before and it looks pretty damn good. Check it out!

Another New Remake: Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
With the success of remakes like Clash of the Titans earlier this year and The Karate Kid this past weekend, it looks like the 1980's is the new goldmine for Hollywood to start digging up the past and getting the rest of us dirty. With other 80's remakes like Fright Night and Arthur gaining steam and great casts, why not toss another remake onto the pile, but this one comes from the early 90's. Pajiba reports that the Mark Gordon Company is working on developing a remake of the '91 family comedy Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead with the project currently out to writers. You know what? This is a remake I can actually get behind.

Review: The A-Team is a Plan that Definitely Comes Together
The plan: Take a popular '80s television series and translate it to the big screen for a modern audience. Amp up the explosions. Kick up the comedy elements. Make it a solidly entertaining film for the summer movie masses. Get some kind of a wrestler/MMA star to fill Mr. T's shoes. I, for one, love it when a plan comes together, and The A-Team, the latest film from Joe Carnahan, executes the aforementioned plan to a T. Wildly entertaining and packed with as much charm as it is bang, the film hits on all cylinders, even if a littleĀ forgiveness is in order from time to time.

Awesome Official Trailer for Takeshi Koike's Anime 'Redline'
This is for all you anime fans out there. If you're not one, then this probably isn't for you. I first found out about this upcoming anime film Redline, directed by Takeshi Koike, when Twitch featured a wacky teaser for this anime that had a chill jazz song for the music. I waited until this official trailer hit (via Twitch again) to introduce Redline to all of you because this trailer actually makes this anime look truly frickin' badass. Redline is a high-speed, hardcore futuristic racing anime that just looks insane. I've got a soft spot for great anime films and this looks like it'll be fantastic. If it sounds like you'll enjoy this, then check out the trailer!

Ridley Scott's Western + More New Info on His Alien Prequel!
Well isn't this ironic. Last night I attended the final day of the Hero Complex Film Festival, which included screenings of Alien and Blade Runner with a live Q&A with Ridley Scott in-between. I took the opportunity to ask Ridley a question I've been waiting to ask for years: Way back in late 2007 he said "sci-fi films are as dead as westerns," but now has the Alien prequel and a Forever War adaptation in the works, so what made him change his mind? Well, instead of actually answering, Ridley started to ramble on about westerns and then revealed he was "working on one" that Larry McMurtry (Brokeback Mountain) is currently writing.
