Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Disney's CG Animated 'Tangled'

Tangled Teaser

We've been hearing bits and pieces about Disney's latest animated CGI film for years, but now first official teaser trailer is finally here. Tangled is Disney's fresh new take on the story of Rapunzel, voiced by Mandy Moore. When she falls in love with a bandit who was passing by she must venture into the outside world for the first time to find him. This is obviously targeted towards boys, with the focus entirely on the bandit guy, but that said, it looks fun, almost like one of those classic 2D animated Disney adventures, but in CG (and 3D). Just because I love Disney, I'll be seeing this, but otherwise it's not the greatest trailer. Watch & enjoy!

Eddie Redmayne 'Locked' for Lead in Spielberg's War Horse?

Eddie Redmayne / War Horse

Just last month, we found out Steven Spielberg had finally chosen War Horse, the adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's 1982 novel, as his next project. Moving swiftly towards production, The Playlist reports that Spielberg has already "pretty much locked" young British actor Eddie Redmayne for the lead role in the epic tale of a friendship between a boy and his horse, who become separated but continue to be intertwined as they try to survive the horrors of WWI. This is the first of any casting news for the project we've heard, but The Playlist has proven itself to be accurate time and time again, so this should be all confirmed soon.

Excl: 'Apprentice' Poster from Disney's Sorcerer's Apprentice!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice - Poster

Throughout this week, Disney has been slowly unveiling a series of character posters for The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which we featured a new trailer for yesterday. Disney has exclusively given us the new poster for "The Apprentice," played by Jay Baruchel, to unveil. "Dave is his own worst enemy, the architect of his own misery," says Baruchel. "He spends his life trying to live down that moment in the Arcana Cabana when he first encountered Balthazar and Horvath." Of course, "it was no coincidence that he drifted towards physics because although illusion and magic are different, magic and science are the same." So check it out!

Watch This: First Japanese Trailer for Ghibli's The Borrowers

The Borrowers Trailer

Tune in all Hayao Miyazaki fans! Fellow blog Bleeding Cool has uncovered the first Japanese teaser trailer for the newest Studio Ghibli film The Borrowers. We just wrote about it last December, explaining that it's an adaptation of a series of children's fantasy novels, written by Mary Norton, about a family of really little people who live by "borrowing" from normal-sized humans. As you can pick-up from the trailer (since it's not in English), they've changed the story to be mainly focused on a 14 year-old boy named Arrietty. I'll take this any day over that Gulliver's Travels crap that Hollywood churns out. Hurry up & watch it below!

Writers Already Working on Green Lantern Sequel & The Flash

Green Lantern

Despite the fact that we haven't seen a trailer, let alone a single official photo yet for DC Entertainment's Green Lantern movie, Heat Vision reports that the film's writers Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim are already at work on a treatment for a sequel. This news comes shortly after hearing some bits from actor Temuera Morrison (who plays Abin Sur, a Green Lantern Corps member) mentioning that his backstory would be revealed in a planned sequel. In addition, the same trade story has more good news with the same aforementioned trio of writers also working on a treatment for an adaptation of The Flash.

Monsterpocalypse Gets Writer John August, Burton May Direct

Monsterpocalypse

Back in May we learned that DreamWorks Animation had snagged the big screen rights to the the collectible miniatures board game Monsterpocalypse and were trying to swoon Cannes jury head Tim Burton to be the creative catalyst for the project. At the time it didn't sound like he would end up directing the flick, but a new development just might make it more of a possibility as Heat Vision reports that writer John August, who has worked with Burton on Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride before, is in negotiations to pen the script. However, their reunion would require a lot of major planning to all work out.

F. Gary Gray Might End Up Directing the Kane & Lynch Movie

Kane & Lynch

We've know for awhile now that both Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx would play the title characters Kane & Lynch, respectively, in the adaptation of the video game of the same name. Initially, stunt coordinator and second unit director Simon Crane was going to make this his directorial debut, but apparently he dropped off the project back in May. Now we have a pretty decent idea who will replace him as Heat Vision reports that director F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen) seems to be the top choice to direct this action bonanza following Kane and Lynch being forced together on a violent and chaotic path of redemption and revenge.

Tom Cruise & Ben Stiller Collaborating on Les Grossman Flick

Tom Cruise as Les Grossman

Though hearing word from Tom Cruise himself about development of a feature film focusing on fictional super producer Les Grossman can be considered pretty official, Paramount took it a step further today via an official press release announcing that Cruise and Ben Stiller (who starred in/directed Tropic Thunder, which was Grossman's debut) will collaborate on the film. We don't usually find it necessary to re-announce news like this, but Paramount's press release treats Grossman like he's a real producer and includes some hilarious quotes from both Stiller and Grossman, who you can just hear yelling these words at your face.

Die Hard 24/7 Originally Involved John McClane & Jack Bauer?

John McClane & Jack Bauer

So hearing about the potential titles for Fox's next franchise installments for Die Hard and Fantastic Four wasn't exactly Earth-shattering news. However, AICN is bringing down the house on Die Hard 24/7 with some apparently legitimate craziness as an "established creative talent within [this] industry" whose name would probably ring a bell revealed that the title was given to a project being developed that would team up John McClane (Bruce Willis) with Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) from Fox's TV series 24. That sounds like a YouTube video in the making, but apparently it was seriously in the works.

Bourne is Back? Universal Hires Tony Gilroy for Another One!

Jason Bourne

Most likely to capitalize on a franchise that they know will be successful (since not many other films they've released in the last two years have been), Universal has officially re-hired the "key screenwriter" behind the Jason Bourne franchise to write another new script for the fourth sequel (via Deadline) - Tony Gilroy. Although we heard in February from both Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass that they were "done" with the Bourne franchise, it seems like Universal is desperate to keep this going. The working title is The Bourne Legacy and it will hit in 2012, but that's all we know (no word on whether Damon will be back). Read on!

Fantastic Featurette for Zack Snyder's Legend of the Guardians

Legend of the Guardians Featurette

Warner Bros has debuted a fascinating little behind-the-scenes featurette (via Moviefone) for Zack Snyder's upcoming animated movie Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (as it's officially known). We debuted the first full trailer for this back in March and I've got to say it looks quite spectacular, like it's a truly entertaining action/adventure epic about owls. This video features Zack Snyder and his wife/producer Debbie Snyder talking about the project, the different kinds of owls we'll see in it, the story and its origins, and so much more. I'm already sold on this movie, but this has now solidified my interest even more. Enjoy!
