Cloudy's Phil Lord & Chris Miller Attached to WB's Lego Movie

Phil Lord & Chris Miller - Lego

They've converted me! Warner Bros just made one of the smartest decisions ever in hiring Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the filmmaker's behind Sony's Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, to write and direct their Lego movie. You may remember when this announced last year we thought it was just going to be another toy adaptation that no one wants to see, but Lord and Miller are two of the best up-and-coming filmmakers around. Now that I know they're working on it, I'm actually kind of curious to see what they'll do. The plot is being kept under wraps, but it is said to be an adventure in the Lego world mixing live action and animation.

Two Rad Trailers for RZA's Wu-Tang vs The Golden Phoenix!

RZA's Wu-Tang vs. The Golden Phoenix

Fans of kung fu - this one's for you! Okay, let me be clear, this is not the full-on $20 million kung fu movie that RZA is planning to shoot called The Man With The Iron Fist. That hasn't shot yet. In fact, I'm not even sure what the story is on this. These trailers are for a film called Wu-Tang vs The Golden Phoenix that Quiet Earth says has been "in the making for the past decade." I assume this was just a kung fu experiment involving Wu-Tang, that RZA shot as a way of getting into the genre and getting used to directing. But who knows what it really is. One thing I can tell you - they're both freakin' awesome. Watch the trailers below!

Must Watch: Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Official Trailer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Official Trailer

"You really don't stand a chance." Warner Bros has unveiled the first official trailer for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part I, the first half of the epic conclusion to the beloved Harry Potter series. Let me be the first to say that this looks absolutely phenomenal, like these might be the best two movies in the series. Although we saw a shorter trailer for this at the MTV Movie Awards, this is the very first full-length Deathly Hallows trailer to hit. It's playing in front of Twilight: Eclipse later this week and will be building some HUGE buzz from that. I really can't wait to see this, luckily only five months to go! Watch it below.

New Sales Poster for Adrien Brody's 'The Experiment' Found

Adrien Brody in The Experiment

Okay, we still don't know when the heck this film is ever going to hit theaters, but a pretty cool new teaser poster for Paul Scheuring's The Experiment was uncovered on Bloody-Disgusting today. Adrien Brody is pretty hot right now (with Splice, Predators, High School, etc) so he's obviously getting the prime spot on here, although this indie thriller also stars Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood, Cam Gigandet, Clifton Collins Jr. and Maggie Grace. We featured some first look photos last year but this is all the media related to this film we've ever seen since then. I think it could actually be pretty cool, we just gotta see a trailer. Check this out!

Introducing: Johnny Depp as a Western Chameleon in Rango!

Johnny Depp as Rango

Remember when we debuted the announcement teaser a few weeks ago for Gore Verbinski's new animated movie called Rango and no one knew what the heck was going on in it? Well, now we know, and here he is. Below is your first look at Johnny Depp as Rango, a chameleon who ends up venturing into a western town called Dirt. Earlier today I visited Verbinski's offices in Burbank for a special introduction to Rango. We got to see a few early scenes from the movie and a teaser trailer (which hits tomorrow) and it looks really, really good. Rango is just one of many funky characters you'll meet in this fun animated western. Check him out!

Alice Eve Officially Cast as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class

Alice Eve / Emma Frost

No more speculation here. Heat Vision and Deadline report that Alice Eve, last seen as the hottie in She's Out of My League, has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's X-Men: First Class, which is being directed by Matthew Vaughn. Eve will play Emma Frost, the "White Queen" who eventually became a member of the X-Men and was seen briefly in some of the earlier X-Men movies (in Wolverine as played by Tahyna Tozzi). Marvel has also confirmed that Michael Fassbender will play Magneto in X-Men: First Class and also that Tommy Lee Jones will play Colonel Phillips in Captain America: The First Avenger, as previously reported

Watch: Awesomely Epic 'Space Battleship Yamato' Full Trailer

Space Battleship Yamato Trailer

On the first day of the year, we featured a TV spot for the live-action version of the Japanese anime Space Battleship Yamato, directed by Takashi Yamazaki, an epic science fiction space story about the crew of the battleship Yamato who set out on a journey to acquire a device that can heal ravaged Earth. The trailer was discovered by Twitch and is one of the Japanese non-subtitled videos with all kinds of images overlayed on top of the trailer. However, there is some awesome footage found in there, so if you are a sci-fi or Space Battleship Yamato fan, definitely check this out. Although we have no clue when it'll be coming to the US.

Spike Lee to Direct Terrorist Thriller 'Nagasaki Deadline' Next

Spike Lee

James Cameron is teaming up with Spike Lee? Deadline reports that Spike Lee is "closing a deal" to direct an action thriller for Alcon Entertainment called Nagasaki Deadline. You may remember hearing about this before, as we reported back in 2008 that Martin Campbell was attached to direct, but now that he's on Green Lantern, time for a new director. James Cameron is a producer on the project along with Jon Landau, Rae Sanchini, and Alcon partners Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson. Things are just coming together now, but this will be Spike Lee's next feature film following his WWII drama Miracle at St. Anna from 2008.

Rumor: Radar Pictures Developing Film Based on Mafia Wars?

Mafia Wars

We all knew it was going to happen. With insane cross-promotions at 7-Eleven (see here) for the Facebook mini-games Mafia Wars and Farmville, we knew that one day someone in Hollywood would try to adapt one of those games into a feature. But will it actually work? We hope not. Pajiba is reporting that they've heard Radar Pictures (All About Steve, The Box, Twelve) is developing a movie based on the popular Facebook game Mafia Wars with the logline: "crime thriller based on the popular video game." Oooh, how original Hollywood! Alas, they don't have any other details, so we're only reporting this news as a rumor for now.

Indie Trailer Sunday: Mélanie Laurent Starring in The Concert

The Concert Trailer

A couple of weeks back, we shared the official UK poster for this film called The Concert, starring Mélanie Laurent (Shosanna in Inglorious Basterds) and Aleksei Guskov. The Weinstein Company recently released the official US trailer for the film on Apple so our worth watching indie trailer today is for The Concert. A lot of you will probably be thrown off by this, as it's a wacky comedy that involves a classical orchestra, which is just a weird concept to begin with, but it doesn't look bad at all. In fact, it actually looks pretty good, like lots of fun scenes with great music, so I suggest checking this out. Plus, Mélanie Laurent is just beautiful. Enjoy!

Tom Hardy Gives Big Updates on George Miller's Mad Max 4

Tom Hardy

Earlier today I joined with a few other movie websites (Collider, Cinematical, ComingSoon) for small group interview with British actor Tom Hardy, probably best known for his performance in Bronson, but we were talking to him about Christopher Nolan's Inception. During the interview, we talked with Hardy about Mad Max 4, or Mad Max: Fury Road as it's called, as he was rumored to be cast as the new Mad Max last year. Unlike actress Teresa Palmer, who confirmed recently that she won't be in this Mad Max, Hardy confirmed that he is involved and also spoke at length with us about his plans for it, but without revealing too much.
