Now that the planets have aligned and Peter Jackson is coming back to direct The Hobbit movies, everyone can stop worrying about who will be journeying to Middle Earth and start thinking about what the project's departed director, the brilliant Guillermo del Toro, has coming down the pipeline. Though del Toro has stated he will announce his next project at Comic-Con in July, that hasn't stopped the masses from rampant speculation as to what it might be. There's a whole slew of potential projects for him to pick from and luckily our friends at Collider caught up with him at the Saturn Awards where he talked at length about his future.

Burton's Stop Motion Addams Family Project Moving Forward
Back in March we reported that Tim Burton was developing a new version of an Addams Family movie, and will actually be going back to Charles Addams' original comics and making it animated, not live-action. Illumination Entertainment, who made Universal's Despicable Me, is developing this, but they didn't have a writer in March, so we weren't sure how soon it was going to happen. ComingSoon just talked with producer Chris Meledandri who confirmed that this new Addams Family movie is moving forward with Burton and that it'll be stop-motion, not computer animated. However, it's still in the very early stages of development.

Official Trailer for David Michod's Fantastic Animal Kingdom
Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the official US trailer on Apple for David Michôd's Animal Kingdom, not to be confused with the classic Disney theme park of the same name. Animal Kingdom is actually a truly incredible Australian film about a family (a teenage kid and his uncles and grandmother) of armed robbers from Melbourne's underworld. I watched it again recently as I interviewed director David Michôd and it's an amazing film, especially for a first-time director. There's a good chance lead actress Jacki Weaver may get an Oscar nom. We featured an international trailer in March but this new trailer is definitely worth watching.

Jonah Hill and John C. Reilly's Cyrus 'Interweb Mashup' Video
Hey interwebs (that's you!) listen up. The Duplass Brothers' hilarious comedy Cyrus is currently playing in limited theaters (cities listed here) and it's definitely worth seeing. As an extra bit of promo, Fox Searchlight posted this pretty wacky new viral video of Jonah Hill and John C. Reilly making an "Interweb Mashup" song... or something like that. Basically they've got a synthesizer that contains sound bytes from the movie and some more melodic sound bytes as well. Then put these two guys in the room with the synth and BAM! - magic happens. If you haven't seen the trailer - watch it here. Then go see Cyrus, it's certifiably hilarious!

Ridley Scott's 'Stoker' Starring Jodie Foster & Carey Mulligan?
There are two halves to this news story, and while one is very solidly confirmed, the other should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. Yesterday Pajiba reported that Jodie Foster and Carey Mulligan were attached to star in Stoker, a story scripted by Ted Foulke which tells the story of a moody teenager who, after the death of his father, has to deal with a mysterious uncle who returns to spend time with their family. According to The Playlist, this casting has been confirmed by the recent issue of Production Weekly, but they've also been tipped off that Sir Ridley Scott may be eyeing the project as a potential directing gig.

Sound Off: James Mangold's Knight & Day - Your Thoughts?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? It was big news when it was first announced that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz would be co-starring in this highly anticipated summer action comedy. Formally titled Wichita, the James Mangold directed Knight and Day actually arrived in theaters on Wednesday earlier this week, but since it's now the opening weekend I thought I'd open the floor for discussion. Was it actually an entertaining action comedy? How were Cruise and Diaz? How were all the action scenes and the cinematography? If you've seen it, leave a comment and let us know what you thought of Knight and Day.

Official Teaser Trailer for David Fincher's The Social Network!
Columbia Pictures has debuted the first teaser trailer for David Fincher's The Social Network on social networking blog Mashable, the perfect place to show it. Don't get too excited though, as the trailer features nothing but text and audio, but it does sound very intense. There's a lot of good sound clips here and I think Sony is really trying to play up the epicness and seriousness of the whole movie, but damn do some of those lines sound cheesy. "The question is: who are they going to send it to?" I'm still looking forward to this, I'd rather see Fincher's usual gorgeous cinematography accompanying all this ominous audio. Watch below!

Review: Grown Ups Provides an Abundance of Stale Comedy
The joke goes something like this: A prison warden gets all of the inmates into the commons area. He tells them he has good news and bad news for them. The bad news is that, due to a food shortage in the county, all they would have to eat is cow manure. But, the good news is that there will be plenty of it. It's a little harsh to compare the jokes in Grown Ups to excrement. They may not be on that level of lameness, but any level of lameness in a comedy is bound to be noticed.
The sight gags and verbal sparring being thrown about between the film's five characters, played by

Mike Nichols to Direct Bridges & Streep in Great Hope Springs
Earlier today we were getting ready to put out the word (that we missed a few days back) from The Playlist that Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges were finalizing deals to star in the movie Great Hope Springs, no doubt a future awards contender that follows a couple who spend a weekend attending an intense counseling session in order to decide the fate of their 30-year marriage. At the time, The Playlist said Jesse Nelson (of I Am Sam) had been attached to helm the script from TV writer Vanessa Taylor, but now The Wrap reports that the masterful Mike Nichols (Charlie Wilson's War, The Graduate) is in talks to direct the film now.

Peter Jackson Will Return to Direct Both Parts of The Hobbit!
After the sad news that director Guillermo Del Toro had dropped out of the project, and a short lived rumor that Neill Blomkamp might take his spot, it looks like Lord of the Rings fans can rejoice as both Heat Vision and Deadline report that Peter Jackson is negotiating his deal to direct both installments of The Hobbit. As we write, Jackson is busy taking himself away from his other projects that were originally the reason that Jackson denied that he would end up directing the double feature. In addition, Jackson and his crew are making a big push to the financially plagued MGM to "loosen the purse strings" and get back to The Shire.

Rumor: Sly Stallone Looking to Play Mobster Icon John Gotti?
With the past few years seeing Sylvester Stallone stepping back in the ring to reprise his role as Rocky and heading back to the jungle as Rambo, I've been hoping that the plethora of action stars joining him in the adrenaline-fueled rampage The Expendables would be like one last hoorah before starting to act his age. It looks like there's a chance I'll get my wish to a certain extent as the gossip-mongers TMZ reports Stallone has been having in depth talks with "Junior" John Gotti about a film that would see Stallone playing his late crime boss father "The Dapper Don" John Gotti, one of the most infamous career criminals of all-time.
