Watch: Brand New TV Spot for Avatar's Extended Re-Release

Avatar TV Spot

Here we go again. Don't get angry, we all knew this was coming, even though not everyone loved the movie. Fox has begun airing this new TV spot (found via ComingSoon) for the Special Edition re-release of James Cameron's Avatar, in theaters in August. It was announced a couple of weeks ago that Avatar would be returning to theaters with around 8 minutes of extra footage. A few bits and pieces of that new footage can be seen in this TV spot, but they're mere glimpses, so it's hard to tell how much more action or drama we'll get. I'm probably going to go check this out, I'd like to see it again, but I know not everyone does. Have fun!

Watch: DJ Osymyso's Scott Pilgrim Trailer Remix on Ramona

Ramona V. Flowers

So we've seen quite a few different trailers for Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World comic book adaptation, but you ain't seen one like this, that's for sure! Edgar asked DJ Osymyso to create some viral trailer remixes using footage and audio from Scott Pilgrim and the result is rather... interesting, to say the least. HitFix has the newest one, titled and about "Ramona", played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the girl that Scott falls in love with. These are fun, but not as energetic as I was hoping they'd be. There's another one called "Hey", one called "Love", and one called "Prepare", which you can watch at those links. Enjoy!

First New Trailer for Julian Schnabel's 'Miral' with Freida Pinto

Miral Trailer

Most of you probably won't recognize filmmaker Julian Schnabel, but you may recognize some of his past films, including Before Night Falls and the Oscar nominated The Diving Bell and the Butterfly with Mathieu Amalric, one of my personal favorites. His latest film is called Miral, after the main character in the film, a young woman, played by Freida Pinto, who lives in an orphanage setup in Jerusalem by Hind Husseini in the wake of the 1948 partition of Palestine. In addition to Pinto, this stars Willem Dafoe, Vanessa Redgrave and Alexander Siddig. This is a French trailer (via The Playlist) but is in English, so it's definitely watchable.

Review: Nolan's Inception IS the Movie Event of the Summer

Inception

When I was younger, in school when I would get bored, I would put pen to paper and create mazes. Turn after turn, I would make them as elaborate as I could, pushing the outside walls as close to the edge of the paper. I don't know how difficult they were or how they would fare on an entertainment level. I never tested them on anyone. It was the act of creating the maze that entertained me. As someone who knows how vast and detailed mazes can get, as well as someone who has written a few scripts, I understand the difficulties and time that can go into each. Having said all that, I cannot even imagine creating something as detailed

Review: Sorcerer's Apprentice Expands in Smart, Exciting Ways

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Taking a small story and building on it for the purposes of feature film making is nothing new for Disney or Jerry Bruckheimer. With ample success in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, you knew there would be more and more re-teaming. Bring in the success the Jon Turteltaub/Nicolas Cage collaboration found with both National Treasure films, and you've got a four-tiered consortium just looking for a property to expand.

Enter The Sorcerer's Apprentice, the animated short from Disney's 1940 classic Fantasia, which, itself being based on the 1797 German poem, Der Zauberlehrling, is no stranger to interpretation. But you can't

Another Fantastic Tron Legacy Banner Featuring Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde

Although we just featured the sixth billboard a few days ago in Disney's series of banners for Tron Legacy, the seventh one has made its way online already as well. Our friends at HeyUGuys debuted yet another new banner/billboard for the new Tron, this time featuring the extremely beautiful Olivia Wilde as Quorra, a "fearless warrior" who joins with Sam Flynn in the Tron world. Her disc-throwing pose looks awfully similar to the one we posted back in June with Garrett Hedlund. Either way, this still looks awesome and I thought it was worth featuring even though we've seen a lot of imagery from Tron recently, but it all still kicks ass!

Will Smith Attached to Biblically-Inspired 'The Legend of Cain'

Will Smith

After reporting that international superstar Will Smith had added yet another project to his production company's future slate, we mentioned there were no less than 30 projects he was somehow involved in as either an actor or a producer. Now Deadline throws another one into they mix as they report that Smith is attached to star and produce The Legend of Cain, a new retelling of the sibling rivalry between Biblical brothers Cain and Abel. However, rather than just picking up the Bible and adapting it, this apparently has some sort of twist involving vampires. Oh no... Could Cain or Abel be from a long line of bloodsuckers?

Roman Polanski Looking to Shoot 'God of Carnage' Next Year

Roman Polanski / God of Carnage

In case you haven't heard, the Swiss Ministry recently released filmmaker and alleged criminal-at-large Roman Polanski rather then extraditing him back to the United States to answer for his past. You may remember back in January we reported that the filmmaker was hard at work developing God of Carnage, the adaptation of the dark comedy stage play of the same name. Now that Polanski is free and likely to stay as far away from the US as possible, Vulture reports he's hard at work preparing to shoot the film next year. The story follows two sets of parents brought together by an altercation between their respective children.

Sound Off: Chris Nolan's Inception - So What Did You Think?

Christopher Nolan's Inception

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Its now been 520 days from when it was first announced last year that Christopher Nolan's next movie would be Inception. Now finally hitting theaters everywhere today is one of this year's most highly anticipated action movies - Inception. So how is this epic, complex, awe-inspiring sci-fi action-thriller? Is it Nolan's new masterpiece or just another great movie, but not better than his others? How was the cast, lead by Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Was it too complex? If you've seen it, then leave us a comment below and let us know what you thought of Inception!

Not Too Bad: New Photos of Paul Bettany in the 'Priest' Movie

Priest

Another post-apocalyptic Paul Bettany action movie? Yes indeed. But this doesn't look too bad. SlashFilm recently debuted a great batch of new photos from Scott Stewart's Priest, based on the TokyoPop manga, starring Paul Bettany as the titular "warrior" Priest. ScreenGems is obviously going to do a big push for this at Comic-Con next week, and this is a primer for that. But I like the photos, they're kinda cool, they remind me of Road Warrior a bit, so I thought I'd post them. I'm not sure if this will turn out any good because it's from the guy who just made Legion, also with Bettany. I guess he could surprise us the second time around?

Infected Zone: Awesome Quad UK Teaser Poster for Monsters

Gareth Edwards' Monsters

I'm still not too fond of that title, but I am very fond this kick ass poster. Empire debuted the first UK quad teaser poster for Gareth Edwards' sci-fi film Monsters, which we've been raving about since first seeing it in Cannes. It was just given an October 29th release in the US a few weeks ago, and is due out in the UK in November, but they beat Magnolia to the punch with this first poster. I personally love these gritty, sign-like posters (especially for this film) and this one reminds me of a mix between 28 Weeks Later and District 9. I hope this gets a few of you more interested in this amazing sci-fi indie. And yes, that is a still from the film.

Crank Directors Neveldine/Taylor Confirmed for Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider

In June one big story that caused quite a ruckus was about Crank 1 & 2, Gamer directors Mark Neveldine and Brain Taylor, collectively known as Neveldine/Taylor, directing the Ghost Rider sequel titled Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance at Sony. Obviously they're putting this one together more as a reboot than a direct sequel, and hiring Neveldine/Taylor for hopefully an R-rated Ghost Rider is a major step in the right direction. Apparently Nicolas Cage appeared on Craig Ferguson's Late, Late Show last night (watch video here, via ComingSoon) and talked briefly about the sequel, confirming that Neveldine/Taylor are directing.
