Sixth Awesome New Billboard for Tron Legacy Arrives Online!

Tron Legacy

Ah s**t these just keep getting better! I know I keep saying that, but it's true! IGN (via HeyUGuys) debuted the newest billboard/banner photo from Tron Legacy, the sixth in the series they've been unveiling since last December. This has Garrett Hedlund in a surprisingly badass-lookin' pose in a photo have never seen before, pretty damn cool. It looks like Tron Legacy will probably end up being the highlight of Comic-Con 2010 with all the sweet stuff they're planning as part of "ComiTRON." It was also recently confirmed that Flynn's Arcade will be returning! Past billboards: first, second, third, fourth and the fifth. Check this out!

Mark Ruffalo in Discussions to Play the Hulk in The Avengers

Mark Ruffalo / Hulk

After the debacle that took Edward Norton away from his role as Hulk for the superhero ensemble The Avengers, aside from the back and forth between Marvel, Norton's agent, and finally Norton himself, there were rumors swirling about potential replacements. Hero Complex mentions names like Joaquin Phoenix, Adrien Brody, David Tennant and Joss Whedon favorite Nathan Fillion, but Deadline has a report out of left field that pegs Mark Ruffalo as being in "late-stage discussions" between Marvel and his agency to become the new Incredible Hulk. As crappy as Norton's situation was, Ruffalo is one hell of an amazing replacement.

Must Watch: Downey Jr & Galifianakis in First Due Date Trailer

Due Date Trailer

Still haven't had enough of Zach Galifianakis after that It's Kind of a Funny Story trailer? Warner Bros has unleashed the first official trailer (via Yahoo) for their upcoming comedy Due Date, directed by Old School and The Hangover director Todd Phillips, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis as well as Juliette Lewis, Michelle Monaghan, Jamie Foxx, Alan Arkin, RZA and others. This is being billed as the big follow-up to WB's The Hangover and I'm loving what I'm seeing so far. Fun concept, funnier characters, and damn Downey is just hilarious. I'm getting a bit burned out on Galifianakis but maybe that's just me. Enjoy!

Interview: The Sorcerer's Apprentice Director Jon Turteltaub

Jon Turteltaub

Although I've known his work and his name, it wasn't until this year that I finally got to meet director Jon Turteltaub for my first time. He's a very welcoming, funny, and cheerful guy, more than I ever thought he would be, and he does great work (although not everyone likes the National Treasure movies). After seeing him at WonderCon and at the presentation in March, I made it my mission to interview Turteltaub when his new movie, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, hit theaters (which is today). He's now one of my favorite guys to interview and he definitely gives fantastic answers, so please check out my interview with Turteltaub below.

Marvel's Captain America & Thor Go 3D + The Gods First Look

Marvel's Thor

With Comic-Con only one week away from kicking off, things are starting to get pretty exciting around here. In the first of what's sure to be many, many first look reveals, LA Times' Hero Complex blog has unveiled a photo of "the gods" from Marvel's Thor - Chris Hemsworth as Thor (left), Anthony Hopkins as Odin (front 'n center), and Tom Hiddleston as Thor's evil brother Loki (right). In addition to that photo, Hero Complex also reveals that Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger will officially be going 3D, and to prove that it's a good decision, they've got some extravagant new quotes from the directors of both movies.

Pixar Converting Ratatouille & Others into 3D for Re-Release?

Pixar - Little Green Men

This is just a speculative rumor for now, but there is a quote to back it up, and it certainly seems plausible. Our friends at SlashFilm (via Bleeding Cool) noticed in the interview on HeyUGuys with Bob Whitehill, Pixar's "Stereoscopic Supervisor" (note: stereoscopic = 3D), that he talks about working with Brad Bird to re-render scenes of Ratatouille into 3D. I use the term "converting" in the headline, but Pixar can simply re-render the original frames just like they did with Toy Story 1 and 2 to turn their older movies into 3D. I didn't think the re-release of those two movies in 3D was a big success, but maybe Disney thought it was.

Worth Watching: First New Trailer for Jon Knautz's The Shrine

The Shrine Trailer

Creepy or cheesy? I could swear we've written about this movie before, but I couldn't find anything in our archives. The Shrine is the next feature from the folks behind the horror-comedy Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, but this one has no comedy (as far as I can tell). It's about some people who "investigate" a cult that practices human sacrifice, but I remember originally hearing something about the shrine coming to life or something like that. If true, that's a spoiler they don't want out there - woops! Anyway, this trailer debuted on STYD and it doesn't look that bad, but not that great either. There is an older trailer on YouTube, too.

Lauren Shuler Donner Producing a Gargoyles Film for Disney

Gargoyles

If you're getting all nostalgic and excited when you see Disney and gargoyles in a headline you're going to be extremely disappointed because this has absolutely nothing to do with that animated TV series "Gargoyles" which Disney distributed in the mid-90's. Instead, Variety reports on development of an original live-action Gargoyles project from Disney and producer Lauren Shuler Donner (of X-Men) which apparently has a treasure trove of mythology in which the studio has interest. The idea for the movie comes from writer Zoe Green and studio exec LouAnne Brickhouse, but sadly no details on the plot have been divulged at this time.

Doug Liman Leading the Search Party for 'The Last of the Tribe'

Doug Liman / The Last of the Tribe

Last month we found out that Warner Bros was putting Doug Liman's competing adaptation of The Three Musketeers on the backburner because Paul W.S. Anderon's iteration was moving forward much faster. At the time, it was said Liman had become the top contender to direct the adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel All You Need is Kill in addition to an older report that had him eying the Coen Bros-written remake of the classic western Gambit. And now Variety says that Liman is attached to direct an adaptation of Monte Reel's non-fiction book The Last of the Tribe: The Epic Quest to Save a Lone Man in the Amazon.

Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck's 'It's Kind of a Funny Story' Trailer

It's Kind of a Funny Story Trailer

Focus Features has debuted the official trailer (on Yahoo) for It's Kind of a Funny Story, starring Keir Gilchrist and Zach Galifianakis, directed by Half Nelson's Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Although I was at first thrown off from the first look photos by the fact that this is not actually a comedy, as expected, it still looks pretty damn good. Boden and Fleck are great filmmakers and I love seeing them approach a story like this that looks like it ends up having quite a bit of heart and charm to it in the end. This also features great appearances by Emma Roberts, Aasif Mandvi, Viola Davis and even Jeremy Davies. Watch below and enjoy!
