Tron Viral Update: Flynn's Arcade is Back + New Flash Game

Encom Postcard

Comic-Con is coming soon and you know what that means... the Tron Legacy viral is back in action! We've heard about Disney's official plans, but I thought they'd secretly be bringing back Flynn's Arcade! I just received another postcard from Flynn Lives today for Encom's Space Paranoids game (photo here) with two big clues on the back. First, it had a little sticker in the return address area (seen above) stating: "Don't Miss Flynn's Arcade 7/22-24" meaning that glorious classic arcade will be back in San Diego. Secondly, the black bar along the bottom contains the final pieces of a clue that leads us to a new viral website and mini-game.

Another Final Theatrical Trailer for Neil Marshall's Centurion

Centurion Trailer

I hate to say it, but haven't we seen enough of this movie already? I just want to see the damn thing already, I'm tired of red band trailers and even green bands that just show the same stuff. I really, really hoping this is good. They're boasting Scott Weinberg's name (@scottEweinberg) on the Apple page quite a bit with some glowing quotes, so I hope that's a good sign. I've heard some mixed things, and I'm quite skeptical with Neil Marshall, but Michael Fassbender looks so badass and so does Dominic West. I believe this is the very last trailer Magnolia is going to debut, as this finally hits theaters in August as well as VOD this month. Enjoy!

Amanda Seyfried Joins Andrew Niccol's New Sci-Fi I'm.mortal

Amanda Seyfried

I'm not entirely sure why, but Andrew Niccol (of Gattaca, Lord of War and S1m0ne) has been laying low for the last few years. He tried to get a sci-fi project called The Cross into production with Orlando Bloom, but it fell apart. Thankfully he's set to direct a "high priority" film for 20th Century Fox called I'm.mortal. The sci-fi thriller is set in the "not-too-distant" future where the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities, and aging stops at the age of 25. Variety says that 24-year-old actress Amanda Seyfried has been cast in the lead.

Watch This: The Expendables Call To Arms Trailer Demands It

The Expendables Call to Arms Trailer

Wow, this is a very bold trailer. Lionsgate, you're definitely telling us something - The Expendables better be a big hit or you're joining MGM. It sucks because they're up against Scott Pilgrim, which I hope becomes a breakout hit this year, but I want to see this, too. Just don't go see Eat Pray Love, on August 13th see this! Eff all those chick flicks, watch a bunch of dudes killing other dudes! This trailer is a combination of cheesy, epic, crazy and just plain insane all in one, if that's even possible. I'm pretty sure this is a FAN made trailer, but it's still fun. Do you want to see The Expendables more or less? August 13th... Get to dah theatah!

Eight Mega-Cute 'Legend of the Guardians' Character Posters

Legend of the Guardians Character Posters

You've all got to agree that one of the key selling points of Zack Snyder's epic Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is the super cute owls, especially the fluffy baby owl named Eglantine. IMPAwards has posted a set of eight, count 'em eight, new character posters for Legend of the Guardians with various epic-owls on them. I know this is getting a bit too cheesy, but I just think this movie looks like so much fun, such good entertainment, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it, no thanks to Zack Snyder whipping up some awesome visuals. There's a big press event later this week for Legend, so stay tuned for updates soon!

Edward Norton's Official Statement on Not Returning as Hulk

Edward Norton as Hulk

Who would've thought that the big news of July, pre-Comic-Con, would be all about how Edward Norton was no longer going to Comic-Con, replaced by an "unknown" in the role of the Hulk. We've covered most of the basic story already, but the man himself, Edward Norton, released an official statement today. It was forwarded to me by his rep so I can confirm that it's actually written by him and is his official word on the situation. It's a bit sad to read, but is a classy what to put an end to this crazy debacle. Sadly, it seems a few of you in the comments didn't exactly praise him, but I definitely enjoyed Norton's Hulk more than Bana's.

Check This Out: Bruce Willis on the First RED Official Poster

Bruce Willis in RED

He's got time to kill. A couple sites have been posting set visits for Robert Schwentke's RED, based on the Warren Ellis comics, starring Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Richard Dreyfuss. One good report can be found on Film School Rejects, where they've also debuted this first official poster for RED, being released by Summit in theaters this October. I love that they're using the exact same design from the comic book cover, it's a sleek design and I love seeing it re-done with Bruce Willis for this poster. The first trailer for RED debuted last month and I'm looking forward to seeing more at Comic-Con.

Video Interview: Toby Kebbell from The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Toby Kebbell in The Sorcerer's Apprentice

There are two fantastic summer movies hitting theaters later this week, the first of which is Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, mainly starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel. However, another outstanding actor who stars in the movie is Toby Kebbell, who you may recognize from Alexander or RocknRolla (as Johnny Quid) or also in Prince of Persia (as Garsiv). Like Mark Strong, Kebbell is a British "secret weapon" who's on the rise, an incredibly talented character actor that I love seeing in anything, especially great roles like this one. I've talked to him before but this time decided to make it official and get it on camera. Enjoy!

Watch: Official Trailer for Australian Horror 'The Loved Ones'

The Loved Ones Trailer

Lola wants to go to the dance! Over the weekend an official trailer debuted (via SlashFilm) for Sean Byrne's The Loved Ones, the cult horror audience award winner from last year's Toronto Film Fest. The film has been heralded as somewhat of a crazy new Australian cult classic in the works. FSR's Brian Salisbury said in his review: "I loved this film... The genius of The Loved Ones is that it knows how to use over-the-top horror elements to provide the necessary safety net for the tightrope walk between shock and entertainment." This trailer goes from bright and cheering to sick and sadistic in no time, but damn it looks crazy good. Check it!

First Look: Galifianakis & Others in It's Kind of a Funny Story

It's Kind of a Funny Story

A few of you savvy cinephiles may be wondering what's been happening with Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, the husband-wife filmmakers who received Indie Spirit Award noms for Half Nelson. Well, they did direct a little baseball indie called Sugar (that I suggest seeing), but they also have another drama coming out this fall. It's Kind of a Funny Story, based on Ned Vizzini's novel, stars Keir Gilchrist as Craig, a clinically depressed teenager who checks himself into an adult psychiatric ward, meeting all kinds of crazy folks like Zach Galifianakis and Aasif Mandvi. We don't have a trailer yet, but MTV debuted a new photo gallery.

Paramount Picks Up New Hunchback of Notre Dame Concept

Hunchback of Notre Dame

Maybe Alice in Wonderland was too much of a success, as this is what we get in return, more of these classic Disney fairtales "reimagined" as dark, epic thrillers. Yes, I know it's based on a Victor Hugo's original novel, but I have yet to be impressed with one of these pitches. RiskyBiz reports that Paramount picked up a pitch from rookie screenwriters Willie Block and Jake Emanuel that is a high concept action-adventure pitch which mixes original ideas with the framework of the traditional The Hunchback of Notre Dame story. Obviously Pirates of the Caribbean comparisons are being made, but the actual plot is being kept a secret.

Review: Despicable Me's Charm Can Melt a Supervillain's Heart

Despicable Me Review

The second string animation business is a-booming. Studios are turning competition with Pixar, and the attention of kiddies all over the world, into buckets of cash, and thanks to those buckets and that cash, the onslaught doesn't seem like it is going to subside any time soon. Sometimes, maybe most of the time, you get stale jokes, jerky animation, and a cavalcade of recognizable names and voices. Then, other times, you get something like Illumination Entertainment's Despicable Me, a film that may play to the younger crowd a bit much but finds its way in delivering the charm and the jokes with equal measure.
