Jeremy Garelick to Direct Both 'An Ex to Grind' & 'Hassle Man'
Hearing the success stories of those who make a name for themselves in Hollywood has proven one thing: there's not just one or even a few ways to go about "making it" in this industry. While success can very much be about who you know, sometimes it's more what you do. Jeremy Garelick (right, above) started as Joel Schumacher's assistant and worked second unit on Veronica Guerin before co-writing The Break-Up and uncredited re-writes on The Hangover. Now Deadline reports he's got a deal to direct An Ex to Grind (the romantic comedy with Cameron Diaz/Benicio Del Toro) and a new project called Hassle Man. But how?

Let Me In's Viral Website Updated with Riddles and Surprises
I've already expressed my love for the somewhat minimal yet brilliant viral marketing Overture Films has been doing for Matt Reeves' Let Me In, the Let the Right One In remake / re-adaptation, but things keep getting better and better. There is a viral site for the movie located at helpme.net that up until today has only had morse code on it. That site was originally used to unlock an invite to the secret Let Me In party at Comic-Con and to build viral buzz. But the site has changed today (via B-D) to feature four riddles related to the movie that you must solve to unlock a trove of creepy new photos. It's a fun mini-game, so check it out!

Watch: Naomi Watts in Doug Liman's Fair Game Official Trailer
Summit has debuted the official trailer for Doug Liman's new political film Fair Game, starring Naomi Watts as ousted CIA agent Valerie Plame (a real-life individual) and Sean Penn as her husband Joseph Wilson. The film is one of Liman's most well-made yet, telling a heated story about Plame, who was ousted in a NY Times article when her investigation into the Iraq war started to venture into areas the government didn't want. I actually saw this film at the Cannes Film Festival and it's good, but not great. It just felt a little empty, like one of those one-off political films you see once. That said, this is a good trailer, so check it out!

Alexandre Aja Taking on Epic 'Cobra: The Space Pirate' Movie
Although I haven't ever seen any of director Alexandre Aja's films (High Tension, Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, Piranha 3D - I know, I need to!) he's got one project I'm now quite excited about. He's been doing horror for a while and has had some success, but I've been hoping we would see him branch out into even more genres. So it's no surprise to hear via Deadline that Alex Aja has just been granted the rights to adapt the Japanese manga Cobra the Space Pirate into a "tent pole-sized live action franchise." Aja will be writing the script with Grégory Levasseur (High Tension, Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, P2) and also producing with Levasseur.

Hayden Christensen Says 'Jumper' Sequel is Being Discussed
Though he tried his hardest, Hayden Christensen didn't fully ruin the sci-fi action movie Jumper. Sure, Mannequin Skywalker didn't make it better, but despite its many shortcomings, I found a certain amount of enjoyment in the concept, plot and Jamie Bell's infinitely higher quality performance. However, that doesn't mean I'm entirely excited about recent talk with Christensen at MTV, who revealed there have been recent talks about a sequel to Jumper. Of course, since Christensen is out promoting the mess that is Takers, he's going to reference higher profile projects to gain more attention no matter how likely or unlikely it may be.

First Look: Hartnett, Perlman, Moore in Guy Moshe's Bunraku
Whoa, you guys have to see these photos! I don't even really know what it is, but there's a movie premiering at the Toronto Film Fest next month called Bunraku, featuring an eclectic cast including Josh Hartnett, Demi Moore, Ron Perlman, Woody Harrelson, Kevin McKidd and plenty others. We don't have any actual footage, but it looks like one of those hyper-stylized Asian-influenced martial arts movies that seem to creep out every so often. I don't even know what the heck is happening in any of these photos anyway (found via Collider) but I do know I really want to see more from this movie. Check out the batch of photos below!

Ryan Reynolds Hides with Denzel Washington in 'Safe House'
After quite an impressive and intimidating list of actors were named as candidates for a highly coveted role opposite Denzel Washington in the previously unveiled action thriller Safe House, we now have a winner. Deadline reports Ryan Reynolds is in talks to fit the project into his busy schedule after finishing work on the comedy The Change-Up early next year. Reynolds was the frontrunner amongst names like Chris Pine, Shia LaBeouf, James McAvoy and Tom Hardy, but this is confirmation that he'll play the young CIA agent who must transport a dangerous criminal (Washington) to safety after both are attacked at the safe house.

Leaked Paramount Email Exposes Full Slate of Future Projects
Yesterday we reported on a new Bad Robot project from the mind of J.J. Abrams with "Lost" series director Jack Bender on board to helm the project which takes the make-out game 7 Minutes in Heaven and gives it a deadly twist. Well, that project turned out to be one of dozens of projects in a leaked email from inside the offices of Paramount Pictures which was uncovered by The Wrap. The email itself is just a list of projects the studio is working on with brief updates, and while many just confirm previous news, there's interesting developments involving Will Smith, World War Z, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and much more.

Yet Another Bob Marley Project is Trying to Get Off the Ground
Although a documentary and a biopic focusing on reggae singer Bob Marley have both risen and fallen a couple times in Hollywood, yet another attempt to tell he singer's life story is on the way. Deadline reports Jenny Ash, who recently found success with the doc series "America: The Story of Us," is developing a Bob Marley biopic focusing on the year that the singer spent living in London in 1977. This time in his life isn't just a random choice, but is regarded as one of the most crucial in his life following fleeing Jamaica after someone tried to kill him. Towards the end of his year in London came the revelation that he had cancer.

Watch: Full Trailer for Brad Anderson's Vanishing on 7th Street
Don't trust the light. STYD has premiered the first trailer for Vanishing on 7th Street, the new film from The Machinist director Brad Anderson about a group of people who wake up to find everyone dead. Well, there's eventually a small group that bands together in a dimly-lit tavern on 7th Street, struggling to survive. While I don't really care for Hayden Christensen, there are some awesome shots in this, like when that plane crashes at the beginning. Plus, I'm intrigued by the "stay in the light" concept. So this is a re-imagining of I Am Legend? Vanishing will premiere at the Toronto Film Fest next month, but check out this trailer first!

First Look: Will Ferrell in Indie Dramedy 'Everything Must Go'
Oh yes, this looks so good! Our friends at IONCinema.com found the first few photos from an indie comedy coming up soon called Everything Must Go starring the one-and-only Will Ferrell. In brief, the plot is about a guy who loses his job and gets locked out of his house by his wife. She puts all of his belongings on the front lawn, so he spends the next four days trying to sell off his possessions in an impromptu yard sale, hence "Everything Must Go." Ferrell doesn't often do indies like this, and its been ScriptShadow's favorite script for a long time, which makes me even more interested knowing that it could be a fantastic indie gem.
