Zhang Yimou's A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop US Trailer
Not another remake! But wait - this is a Chinese remake of the Coen Brothers' first film, Blood Simple. Yep, the filmmaker behind Jet Li's Hero and House of Flying Daggers (and the 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremony) decided to remake a Coen Brothers film as an ancient Chinese epic, of sorts, I guess I could say. Yahoo (via SlashFilm) has debuted this new official trailer for the US release of Zhang Yimou's A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop this fall. Some places call it A Simple Noodle Story or Amazing Tales: Three Guns (which we ran a trailer for before), but I prefer the more recent, longer title. It's wacky, but looks fun!

Ben Affleck & Rachel Weisz Starring in Terrence Malick's Next?
What the heck is Terrence Malick up to? Although we haven't even seen his latest film, The Tree of Life, which no one knows when we even will see it or even what the heck it's even about, that's not stopping the filmmaker from starting work on his next film. The Wrap reports that Malick has already begun casting and location scouting for his latest currently untitled project. Oscar winners Ben Affleck and Rachel Weisz have reportedly joined the cast and interesting reports from various remote shooting locations are starting to trickle in, too. This is that same "romance" project announced in February at the Berlin Film Festival.

Check This Out: Official US Poster for Ben Affleck's The Town
I've been waiting to see the poster for Ben Affleck's The Town because I'm very excited for the movie and I want a great poster to go along with it. Unfortunately this official US poster isn't that good, at all. Debuted on Apple (via In Contention) is the official poster for The Town that is a little too focused on the creepy nun mask-wearing criminals than the actual cast of the movie. I'm glad there aren't big floating heads, but this is just odd. Who wants nuns with guns on their wall? Don't answer, but seriously, couldn't they have designed something a bit more Oscar caliber? Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really digging this poster. Check it out!

Casting: Brolin Joins 'Young Adult', Morgan Joins 'The Courier'
A couple of new casting updates to point out today. First, Showbiz411 reports that Josh Brolin is currently eying the lead role opposite Charlize Theron in Jason Reitman's new movie Young Adult, about a divorced ghostwriter of young adult novels (Theron) who returns to her midwest hometown and reconnects with her old flame who's now married with kids. Reitman recently tweeted: "See you guys. Off to make a movie." So it looks like production is starting very soon on that project. However, Brolin ins't actually signed, so we're not really sure if he's fully on-board yet. A bit more casting news involving Jeffrey Dean Morgan found ahead!

Great Cinema Experiences - There Will Be 'Rolling Roadshow'
Last weekend, Sunday night, I drove up to Bakersfield (about two hours outside of Los Angeles) with Peter from SlashFilm for the Rolling Roadshow screening of There Will Be Blood. If you're not familiar with the Alamo Drafthouse's Rolling Roadshow (official website), basically they host special screenings of cinema classics in locations where they actually take place or are otherwise connected. Years ago they showed Close Encounters of the Third Kind at Devil's Tower. This time they showed Paul Thomas Anderson's incredible film There Will Be Blood outside of the Kern County Museum right in the middle of their own oil exhibit.

Todd Phillips Producing Biopic of Late Comedian John Belushi
With all the personalities that walk through the revolving doors of the entertainment industry, few have had the talent, charisma and charm that the late John Belushi had. In case you're unaware, the comedian was much more than the literal poster child for college with his Animal House portraits adorning pretty much every college residence somewhere on campus. THR reports that the tragically short life of Belushi is headed towards the big screen courtesy of director Todd Phillips who will be producing a biopic of the comedian written by Steven Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness). That sounds like a mission from God. Read on!

Paramount Snags Rights to Graphic Novel 'Last Man Standing'
Since returning from my first Comic-Con, there have been a couple of instances in my scouring the web for recaps of the happenings at the convention that I've kicked myself for missing out on picking up something kick-ass that a fellow colleague stumbled upon. Yet another item has manifested itself in the form of a sci-fi graphic novel called Last Man Standing which Deadline reports has just been purchased by Paramount with the intention of turning this into a franchise. The story, which takes place 600 years in the future of an alternate universe, follows an invincible soldier named Gabriel created to help win Earth's war against Mars.

Watch: Trailer for Doc 'Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics'
While we usually don't take the time to highlight straight-to-DVD movies, lately the quality of releases has increased as certain productions which seem too difficult to market for a theatrical run find new life on the DVD shelf. So we're bring you this new trailer for one of those promising projects that won't be in theaters, but we reported on it in February anyway. Narrated by Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern himself) Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics is a documentary taking an in-depth look at DC Comics and cinematic partner Warner Bros and the creative challenge behind heroes like Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman.

New Back to the Future Poster for UK's Theatrical Re-Release
From time to time I wonder what it would have been like to be caught up in the world of movie news during the times of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Unless (heaven forbid) a remake of those films comes along, my writing on those topics is usually limited to pop culture references and random regurgitation of videos and infographics. However, today I'm lucky enough to direct your attention to a brand new (yet familiar) poster via Empire for Back to the Future, a favorite of mine which is getting a theatrical re-release this October in the United Kingdom only to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Marty McFly's adventures through time.

Watch: New Featurette for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows
"What do you know about the Deathly Hallows?" A new behind-the-scenes featurette looking at the story elements of Warner Bros' upcoming two-part adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has debuted on SpoilerTV (via Collider). This video really makes the movie look as amazing and as epic as I am hoping, especially because the story is such a vital part of everything that happens in this finale, and it looks like they're putting as much care and concern into it as they possibly can. Plus, it's always exhilarating getting a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes world, especially for a film like Harry Potter. Watch & enjoy!

Official Poster Unveiled for Julie Taymor's Wild 'The Tempest'
There are some very wild big screen adaptations/interpretations of William Shakespeare in the works right now. We've got Ralph Fiennes' modern-day version of Coriolanus complete with modern military. And we've also got Julie Taymor's The Tempest, which kind of looks like Tarsem decided to go Shakespeare, too, but with Taymor's touch. Taymor adapted Shakespeare once before, with Titus, but she is back again with The Tempest, starring Helen Mirren (seen above), Alfred Molina, Russell Brand (yes, that guy), Alan Cumming, Djimon Hounsou, Chris Cooper, David Strathairn and Ben Whishaw. So check out the official poster below!
