Sly Stallone is Already Thinking About An 'Expendables' Sequel?
Though the testosterone fueled action romp The Expendables isn't hitting theaters for a few more days, 24 Frames says the film's writer/director/star Sylvester Stallone has already been contemplating an idea for a sequel (but that's it). However, the legendary action star is not arrogantly assuming his movie will perform well enough at the box office to warrant a sequel, but he's just thinking ahead. Stallone said, "If this does perform, I think it will open a little more liquidity in funding the sequel." Maybe if it does well enough, Stallone could bring Danny Trejo into the mix after pulling the rug from under his feet the first time around.

Baseball Movie 'Slide' Retooled with Soccer and Gerard Butler
Whether you call it soccer or football, I think everyone can agree that there haven't been that many movies that would spawn praise equal to that of an inspiring a "Gooooal!" The Big Green and Kicking & Screaming satisfied different generations of kids, Bend It Like Beckham struck a few chords and Shaolin Soccer was fun as hell, but there's no Field of Dreams for soccer fans. It looks like an attempt at such a film might be on the way as 24 Frames reports a Little League-based movie called Slide will be reconfigured to take place in the world of soccer with Gerard Butler playing a dad with a dubious past brought in to coach his son's team.

Watch: KNB's Behind-the-Scenes Video for 'The Walking Dead'
One thing I love about my job is that I often get an intimate look at the behind-the-scenes and technical side of filmmaking. Over the years I've come to love and appreciation the work that KNB, a legendary special FX company, does on all kinds of movies. If there's any blood or zombies or vampires or any creatures involved, KNB probably did the make-up for it. They're the best of the best and I don't often have a good opportunity to highlight them, which is why I'm breaking our own rules to feature this fantastic behind-the-scenes video created for AMC's adaptation of the zombie comic series "The Walking Dead" (from Bloody-Disgusting).

First Juicy Poster Debut for Epic 'Freakonomics' Documentary
The world of documentary filmmaking has been treated to some truly talented directors including Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing (Jesus Camp), Eugene Jarecki (Why We Fight), Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) and Seth Gordon (The King of Kong). In case you didn't know, all those different filmmakers are combining into a Captain-Planet-worthy assembly of documentarians. Each director has helmed different segments for Freakonomics, and the first poster for the doc (via Cinematical), which isn't much of a departure from the book cover, has just debuted online.

Must Watch: First Trailer for Universal's Sci-Fi Movie Skyline
Holy crap. Universal has debuted the official trailer for Colin and Greg Strause's Skyline on in high def on Apple today. This sci-fi contained invasion thriller stars Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Brittany Daniel, David Zayas and a few more indie actors. You may have heard the buzz from Comic-Con but now you get to see for yourself how frickin' awesome this new alien invasion movie looks. It has such a perfect setup, too (although it borrows a bit from the way Monsters also begins) and I love how beautiful some of the big special effects shots look at the end. I wonder if we'll get more or if this is just all they're planning to show us? Check it out!

Watch This: Vintage Trailer for The Avengers Movie from 1952
Wait - there was an Avengers movie made back in 1952?! No, no that's all just made up, but some guys on YouTube (found via AICN) did decide to whip up a short three-minute black and white trailer based on the question: "What if... The Avengers movie was created years before the actual comic book?" That concept in general is brilliant, but the entire trailer is very impressive. We would definitely be living in a different world (cinematically, too) if this Avengers movie really existed. This is must watch for any true comic book geek, so without further ado: "An astonishing tale, filled with suspense, and terrors from strange worlds..."

Another 'Heart-Pounding' Motion Poster for Saw 3D Unveiled
Remember that crazy exploding-head motion poster for Lionsgate's Saw 3D a few weeks ago that used the ever-so-cheesy tagline and design inspiration of "mind-blowing 3D"? Well, they're back again with another motion poster, this time it's all about the "heart-pounding 3D" and, you guessed it, we got another crazy design with a heart being pounded. I've got to admit that these are very unique designs that think they did a good job putting together (where else do we get to see imagery like this?), it's just that those taglines are so cheesy! And I really didn't like the trailer anyway. Check out the full-on motion poster (from MTV) below.

Review: Ferrell/Wahlberg's The Other Guys is Furiously Funny
The Other Guys starts with an explosive car chase. Two New York hero cops are chasing bad guys. What did they do? It doesn't matter. Just know the cops involved are the cream of the crop. Dwayne Johnson is on the roof of the car being driven by the bad guys. Samuel Jackson is driving a Chevelle closely behind. Bullets are flying. The banter is quick. When the explosions occur, they are wild and slick and right out of the best scenes Michael Bay has to offer. This is where the action peaks in The Other Guys, but, just as the film isn't about Johnson and Jackson's characters, it's also not about the explosions and gun fights. The Other Guys is

Check This Out: First Fun Poster for Todd Phillips' 'Due Date'
Are you ready for the comedy event of the... fall! From the director of The Hangover (and Old School, Road Trip, Starsky & Hutch and School for Scoundrels) comes Due Date, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in what is basically Planes, Trains & Automobiles of 2010. The first teaser trailer debuted back in July and was hilarious and now we've got this great poster to go along with it. I'm sure WB is going to be selling Due Date as the comedy event of the year, I just hope it lives up to those expectations! Check out the poster below and let us know if you're excited to see this. That dog is going to steal the show, I just know it!

Channing Tatum Starring/Producing Contortionist's Handbook
All the ladies love him, so he's in the news a lot. Deadline reports that Channing Tatum will co-produce (along with many others) and star in an adaptation of Craig Clevenger's 2002 novel The Contortionist's Handbook. Tatum will play a forger who moves smoothly from one identity to the next because of a strict code of conduct that keeps him from getting caught or having to deal with his own troubled past. That gets upended when he falls for a beautiful woman with her own dark secret. Of course, a woman messing up his flow, like we haven't seen that before. Robin Shushan wrote the script, but oddly no director is attached yet.

Fox Acquires Max Landis' Superpower Spec Script 'Chronicle'
This could either be good, or really cheesy. Heat Vision reports that 20th Century Fox is "in negotiations" to acquire a spec script by Max Landis, son of John Landis, titled Chronicle that's a super-powered thriller of sorts. The plot focuses on the lives of three Portland teens that become exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods, and, as a result, begin to develop incredible powers. They work together to hone their skills for fun, until personal problems begin to turn them against one another. It'll be shot documentary-style like Paranormal Activity or The Last Exorcism and first-time feature director Josh Trank will helm the project.

Gorgeous New Official Poster for Gareth Edwards' Monsters!
By now you should know that I'm a huge supporter of the fantastic indie sci-fi film Monsters, written and directed by Gareth Edwards, starring the beautiful Whitney Able and talented Scoot McNairy. We already debuted a teaser trailer a few weeks ago, but to continue building some strong buzz, Magnet Releasing has unveiled this incredibly gorgeous official US poster for the film over on IMDB today. I love the imagery and the composition, nothing too crazy, just a sleek, very nicely put together poster. Plus I love the photograph theme (look on the left side) and the tagline. Great job on the design! Now I want one of these for my wall.
