Watch: Full Trailer for Del Toro Produced Horror 'Julia's Eyes'

Julia's Eyes Trailer

From the man who brought us The Orphanage and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark comes another beautiful, creepy Spanish horror/thriller called Julia's Eyes. An English subtitled trailer for the film was discovered by sites like STYD and Collider, as the trailer has been out before but without any subs (see it on YouTube). Written and directed by Guillem Morales, Julia's Eyes is yet another supernatural ghost thriller about a woman and her husband who return to a town to find that her sister, who was blind due to a degenerative illness, killed herself. Obviously things get spooky from there and I won't spoil anymore, so watch it below.

2010 Honorary Oscars Will Go to Coppola, Wallach and Godard

Francis Ford Coppola, Eli Wallach, Jean-Luc Goddard

Next year's Oscar ceremony is about six months away, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences still determines the recipients of their honorary awards way ahead of the event. Today the New York Times' Arts Beat revealed Francis Ford Coppola will be receiving the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, an award given to "a creative producer whose body of work reflects a consistently high quality of motion picture production." Meanwhile, other honorary Oscars will also be given to French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard (Breathless), actor Eli Wallach (The Good, the Bad, the Ugly) and film preservationist Kevin Brownlow.

Roadside Attractions & Liddell Ent Acquire Iñárritu's Biutiful

Biutiful

Good news for those of you waiting patiently to see Alejandro González Iñárritu's incredible film Biutiful. We'd heard that this deal was coming, but it's now official. Roadside Attractions and Liddell Entertainment have partnered to acquire distribution rights for Biutiful and are planning a release in December of this year. Biutiful will have its official North American premiere at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival next month. I'm not sure who Liddell Entertainment is (I've never heard of them) but I know who Roadside is and they don't really have a great track record. Why didn't Sony Pictures Classics pick this up?

Marvel Moving Forward on 'Iron Fist', Hires 'xXx' Screenwriter

Iron Fist

Aw come on, why this writer? We've heard occasional mention every so often that Fist was one characters Marvel was soon going to be bringing to the big screen, however this is the first actual announcement we've seen. Deadline reports that Marvel Studios has hired screenwriter Rich Wilkes (Airheads, xXx, Punk Like Me) to start writing the first draft of an Iron Fist movie. Iron Fist is a martial arts expert from the Marvel Universe whose battle with a dragon ended when he plunged his hands inside of the beast's molten heart, turning his fists into indestructible weapons and, of course, turning him into a Marvel comic book character.

Kristen Bell & Anna Paquin Join the Body Count of Scream 4

Kristen Bell & Anna Paquin

Though shooting has already started up in Ann Arbor, Michigan last month, USA Today discovered a couple more additions to the cast of Wes Craven's new sequel Scream 4. Apparently young starlets Kristen Bell (Fanboys) and Anna Paquin ("True Blood") will appear, but likely only in the form of expected cameos of characters who will quickly bite the dust. Drew Barrymore was the first cameo who (spoiler alert!) ended up dead meat in the opening sequence of the original Scream. Her execution was an homage to Janet Leigh's surprise death in Psycho, and what better way to raise the stakes than with a couple of lovely young girls?

Sean Connery Turns 80, Reiterates His Permanent Retirement

Sean Connery

In the past seven years there has been a lot of talk about whether or not the legendary Sir Sean Connery could be coaxed out of retirement. His last work on the big screen was the disappointing adaptation of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and while the Scottish actor has lent his voice to other projects like that James Bond video game From Russia with Love and an animated film called Sir Billi, it seems like his acting days really are behind him. As Connery turns 80 years old today, he told The Scotsman (via Screen Crave): "I don't think I'll ever act again. I have so many wonderful memories but these days are over."

Katie Holmes and Al Pacino Going Up the Hill for 'Jack & Jill'

Al Pacino, Adam Sandler, Katie Holmes

We already know that Adam Sandler will be playing both of the siblings in the upcoming romantic comedy Jack and Jill, but THR has some news on a couple new cast members. Katie Holmes and Al Pacino will join Sandler in a story about Jack, a family man who deals with his twin sister Jill visiting for Thanksgiving. But things take a turn for the worse when Jill decides she's not leaving (uh oh). Holmes (who hasn't done a studio film since Batman Begins in '05) will play Sandler's wife, while Pacino will simply be playing himself. Though we don't know specifics, Holmes will likely make that signature smirk and Pacino will hopefully yell.

Beautiful Poster Triptych for Mark Romanek's Never Let Me Go

Never Let Me Go

Damn, these look incredible. Our friends at IMPAwards found an absolutely gorgeous triptych of posters on the official website for Mark Romanek's latest indie drama Never Let Me Go starring Andrew Garfield (soon to be Spider-Man), Carey Mulligan (who deserves many Oscars) and Keira Knightley (who looks surprisingly good in this). I already gushed over the official poster, but this series just knocks me flat out it's so damn beautiful. I love all the light touches and mood that Fox Searchlight has set up, I really can't wait to see this, I've got a feeling it will be one of 2010's gems. Stay tuned for early reviews from upcoming festivals.

Matthew McConaughey Might Hear 'The Headhunter's Calling'

Matthew McConaughey

It's sad to think Matthew McConaughey once gave great performances in films like Dazed and Confused and A Time to Kill but became a hack actor who loves to take his shirt off and flash his pearly whites in films like Fool's Gold and Failure to Launch. But it looks like a role might be coming along that could allow him to redeem himself. Pajiba reports McConaughey is circling indie drama The Headhunter's Calling, a story which follows a workaholic corporate headhunter who has alienated his family for years and let his cutthroat business compromise his ethics in pursuit of financial gain until he finds out that his oldest has Leukemia.

Magnolia Releasing Andrew Jarecki's Drama 'All Good Things'

All Good Things

Magnolia Pictures has announced that they've acquired distribution rights to Oscar nominated filmmaker and documentarian Andrew Jarecki's latest film All Good Things. Inspired by the most notorious missing person's case in New York history, the film is a love story and murder mystery set against the backdrop of a New York real estate dynasty in the 1980s. The drama portrayed in Jarecki's film was inspired by the story of Robert Durst, who was suspected but never tried for killing his wife Kathie who disappeared in 1982 and was never found. Kirsten Dunst co-stars with Ryan Gosling as well as Frank Langella and Kristen Wiig.

Must Watch: First Funky Trailer for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours

127 Hours Trailer

Are you ready? Apple has debuted the first official trailer for Danny Boyle's highly anticipated follow-up to Slumdog Millionaire - 127 Hours starring James Franco as real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston. I love the way this is setup, Boyle's films are always so fresh and unique, but this is also quite trippy. I'm also not sure about all the over-the-top adventuring he does with Kate Mara and Amber Tamblyn, that looks a bit too much like Franco takes some Hollywood hotties on a hiking trip. But I guess it is good characterization, setting him up to change. If you can't figure it out, Franco gets pinned there for 127 hours. I hope it delivers!
