Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo in Talks to Join 'Violet & Daisy'
Back in April we heard about an interesting project called Violet & Daisy from Precious writer Geoffrey Fletcher, who was also looking to make his feature directorial debut by helming his own script. At the time Carey Mulligan (An Education) and Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones) were attached as the lead characters (apparently that's still the case) but now 24 Frames reports Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo are in talks to join the project which combines the dark comedic elements of Pulp Fiction, the nature of a raunchy comedic duo from Superbad, and the female friendship/feminist empowerment of Thelma & Louise into one story.

Carla Gugino is a Total 'MILF', But Not Exactly How You Think
There's plenty of people, male and female alike, who'd agree that Carla Gugino is quite a beauty. Though she played mother to Malin Akerman (another hot lady) in Watchmen, Gugino is actually only seven years older than Akerman. Now 24 Frames is reporting she'll take on another motherly role in MILF, but the role probably isn't in line with the dirty thoughts that are filling many fanboys' heads right now. In this case the acronym actually refers to "Mothers I'd Like to Fight" with a revenge story that follows a woman recently released from prison who returns to the street to take care of unfinished business. That's one bad mother!

'Iron Man' Writers to Pen New 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'
Since Iron Man kicked off the eagerly anticipated superhero ensemble The Avengers, some serious credit is due to screenwriters Art Marcum & Matt Holloway for giving Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau a hell of a script to work with. Though their talents might have been desperately missed in the less polished Iron Man 2, it looks like the writing team will get their chance to tackle yet another franchise. Deadline reports Marcum and Holloway have been hired (with a paycheck of around $1 million) to write the new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the same project which apparently has a crappy script by John Fusco.

Burton Taps Ed Wood Writers for 'Addams Family' & 'Big Eyes'
Back before Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland, Tim Burton used to make better films with Johnny Depp before Pirates of the Caribbean came along and turned Depp into a superstar. One of their better and often unrecognized gems is the hilarious biopic Ed Wood, so I'm pleased with Deadline's report that the writers of that movie, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, will be writing both Burton's stop-motion version of The Addams Family and Big Eyes, a fact-based drama about Margaret Keane's struggle to get credit for the line of paintings of big-eyed children that became wildly popular in the 60's.

New Poster for Ryan Reynolds' Buried Debuts with FS Quote!
This is awesome! Our friends at Ain't It Cool News just unveiled a new poster for Ryan Reynolds' upcoming buried alive thriller Buried, directed by Spanish filmmaker Rodrigo Cortés (who I'm planning to interview in Toronto). This poster takes that stunning, twisty Saul Bass-like design that we originally saw made out of white lines and inputs some quotes (including one from yours truly at FirstShowing.net via this review) for the movie. I hope this helps build even more buzz because I loved Buried, it's still one of my favorites of this year, and I hope a lot of people go see it. Anyway, without further ado, check out the new poster for Buried!

A 'Google Movie' About its Founders is Now in the Works, Too
One might say the world changed forever in 1999 when Standford graduates Larry Page and Sergey Brin first launched a search engine on the internet called Google. While the Facebook success story is a big one, Google's is even bigger, as its become a part of our lives in more ways than one. With all the buzz that David Fincher's The Social Network is building, it was inevitable that we'd hear about other web start-up stories getting the big screen treatment, and Deadline reports that Google is next. Groundswell Prods and producer John Morris have acquired film rights to Ken Auletta's book Googled: The End of the World As We Know It.

New Trailer for Christian Alvart's Supernatural Movie 'Case 39'
Wow, talk about a huge delay. This was filmed back in 2006. And in the meantime, its director - Christian Alvart - has gone on to direct and release another film, Pandorum, and is already working on his next sci-fi project - Captain Future. Apple has just debuted another brand new trailer for Christian Alvart's Case 39, a supernatural thriller starring Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper and, oh yea, Ian frickin' McShane, plus the little girl from Silent Hill, Jodelle Ferland. We ran a trailer for it once before back in early '09, but that got pulled by the studio, so this is the new official trailer that you can watch if you're interested in it.

Worthington to Shoot Alex Proyas' Dracula Year Zero in 2011?
One of the most famous vampires is returning to the big screen. We first caught mention in a since-removed post on Oz website Encore that Alex Proyas' Dracula Year Zero would be shooting next year in Australia, but there wasn't any official confirmation. However, Collider checked in with their own industry sources and confirmed that Universal is aiming to start shooting in June 2011 and that Sam Worthington is indeed attached to play real-life historical figure Prince Vlad of Transylvania, known as the inspiration for Dracula and the main character in Proyas' movie. Make what you will of this new, as Dracula Year Zero is coming.

Alamo Drafthouse Named 'Best Overall Theatrical Experience'
If you've ever spoken with anyone who has been to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX, you'll know they love that theater chain and nothing comes close to matching it. I've been there many times and I completely agree, nothing comes close, it truly is one of the best theaters in the world. Now its been officially labeled as such as Fandango's Chuck Walton finished his epic 100 day journey around the nation to see 100 movies in theaters in 100 days time, "in search of the perfect summer moviegoing experience." As you might have guessed, the Alamo Drafthouse was rated the "Best Overall Theatrical Experience" and it deserves it!

Epic New Official Teaser Poster for the Strause Brothers' Skyline
Awesome, just awesome. Although I know there are some interesting rumors regarding stolen visual effects floating around, I'm still pretty damn excited to see Colin & Greg Strause's upcoming sci-fi thriller Skyline. We debuted an impressive teaser trailer for the movie last week, and now we have an awesome poster to go along with it, courtesy of STYD. I know I've called this "awesome" about four times, but it's a great poster, I love the way they're marketing this. Maybe it's just because I'm a sci-fi nut and this is right down my alley, but I love the look of it, the ships and invasion and everything. Check it out and let us know what you think?

Darren Bousman Taking on Creepy Thriller '11 11 11' to Hit in '11
Horror director Darren Bousman must love numbers. He directed Saw II, III and IV, is currently working on Mother's Day (which occurs every 2nd Sunday of the 5th month), has another movie called Ninety in the works, and is now going to direct a project called 11 11 11, as announced on Heat Vision. In the same vein as The Number 23 meets Knowing meets Signs meets 2012, 11 11 11 (sorry for all the confusion!) is a "horror-tinged thriller" about the 11:11 movement that's centered on the emergence of that number in people's lives which supposedly alerts them that angels or spirit guardians have been trying to communicate with them.

DreamWorks is Sending Seth Rogen Back to School in 'Boo U'
No, this isn't some kind of strange return to Judd Apatow's "Freaks & Geeks," but rather an all-new project from DreamWorks Animation. Heat Vision reports Boo U, the story of a ghost who must return to "ghost school" to learn how to be a better spook, will be led by none other than Seth Rogen. The comedian is no stranger to DreamWorks Animation since he also voiced B.O.B. in Monsters vs. Aliens and the tiny warrior Mantis in Kung Fu Panda. With the hit and miss track record of DWA, it's hard to get excited for a project without a trailer, but Rogen has such a jolly voice and infectious laugh he'll certainly bring some charm to it.
