Julia Roberts & Meryl Streep Team for 'August: Osage County'
Two of the most popular and successful actresses are teaming up for what promises to draw a huge female audience into theaters. Deadline reports Academy Award nominated actresses Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are coming together to star in an adaptation of Tracy Letts' August: Osage County, the Pulitzer Prize winning book and Tony award-winning play. Letts also wrote the screenplay for John Wells (The Company Men) to direct. The story takes off when the father of the Weston clan disappears one hot summer night, and the family reunites at the Oklahoma homestead, where long-held secrets are unflinchingly and uproariously revealed.

Del Toro, Franco & Shannon Join Competing 'Iceman' Project
We've known since September of last year that Mickey Rourke would produce and star in The Ice Man, an adaptation of Phil Carlo's book of the same name which chronicles the life of Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski, a mafia hit man who murdered more than 200 people. But now there's word of a new biopic on the gangster with the remarkably unique title The Iceman (see what they did there?). Production Weekly reported via Twitter that Ariel Vroman (Rx) is directing and he's rounded up James Franco, Benicio Del Toro and Michael Shannon to star in the film. TheĀ question is, which of these fine actors will play The Iceman? Find out below!

George Clooney Chooses Ryan Gosling to Lead 'Farragut North'
Last month we heard about the cast coming together for a feature adaptation of Beau Willimon's critically acclaimed play, set during the Iowa primary presidential race. George Clooney is set to direct, and while he had offered the lead role to Chris Pine (who played the part in a production of the play in Los Angeles), it looks like Pine has turned him down. Deadline is reporting Ryan Gosling is negotiating to take that same role as a young communications director who works for a fast rising presidential candidate. During the course of the campaign, the idealistic man falls prey to backstabbing and other trickery from his rivals.

Emma Thompson in Talks to Join the Ranks of Men in Black 3D
We already have a bona fide promise from Will Smith that he's "about to make 3D look good" in the new sequel Men in Black 3D, but now someone else is about to make it a bit more interesting, too. Heat Vision reports British actress Emma Thompson is negotiating to join the sequel as Agent Oh, who is monitoring a, presumably alien, prison breakout. She joins returning cast member Tommy Lee Jones and new additions like Jemaine Clement (as the villain Yaz) and Josh Brolin as a younger version of Jones' character, Agent Kay, during a part of the story that involves Jay traveling back in time to 1969 for some unknown reason.

Must Watch: Sngmoo Lee's The Warrior's Way Official Trailer
Hell yes! Relativity has finally debuted an official trailer for Sngmoo Lee's The Warrior's Way, another one of those awesome hyper-stylized kung fu westerns that we actually featured an early promo trailer for last year. The Warrior's Way stars Kate Bosworth, Danny Huston, Geoffrey Rush and Dong-Kun Jang as Yang. It mixes westerns, martial arts, and fantasy in a hyper-stylistic way, and looks pretty badass. It gets pretty wacky when Bosworth and Rush show up, but I still think it looks good. Some friends got to see this already and said it was a "solid movie" but not perfect. It seems cheesy, but I bet it has some great fights.

Katherine Heigl Considering Starring in Gabaldon's 'Outlander'
One news story from 2008 that still gets new comments today was about an adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's popular "Outlander" series of fantasy novels. Fans have been discussing casting and movie possibilities for years, but this one of the first times we've actually heard it mentioned since then. In a recent interview with the NY Times (via The Playlist) actress Katherine Heigl drops a little hint that she might be starring in the Outlander movie. "Scotland? 2012? What do you think?" she inquired after the Times said that "Heigl will then turn toward sharply dramatic work, starring as a Scottish heroine in an adaptation of Outlander."

Disney Developing Family Adventure Around Magic Kingdom
The studio has already raked in billions from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and a new iteration of The Haunted Mansion is on the way with Guillermo del Toro shepherding it through development, so what's Disney's next theme park attraction to hit the big screen? Variety says Disney is thinking about using The Magic Kingdom as the setting of a family adventure in the same vein as the Night at the Museum franchise. Apparently Ronald Moore (the man behind the new "Battlestar Galactica") has already written a script from his own pitch. However, the search is on for a new writer to develop it further.

Watch: Second Trailer for 'Burlesque' with Christina Aguilera
Are you ready for this?! A brand new trailer for Steven Antin's new musical Burlesque starring Christina Aguilera and Cher (as well as Stanley Tucci) has debuted and can be seen below thanks to YouTube (via Vlicious). This energetic trailer hops into things right away and gets groovin' to some music, so be prepared to turn up (or maybe down if you're at work) the volume. If you like big, sultry Pussycat Dolls-like musicals, you're going to love this, but if not you're going to hate it, so don't get too upset. One thing I'll say about this is that Cher still look pretty awful... but can I add that I totally love seeing Stanley Tucci in almost anything?

Ben Affleck May Be Directing 'Tales from the Gangster Squad'
Taking a leap from his struggling acting career to a seat in the director's chair was probably the best move Ben Affleck has made. His work on the crime thriller The Town may have even gotten him back in the acting game with reasonable praise. Now it looks like Affleck could make the move from robbers to cops as Vulture reports Warner Bros. (still quite pleased with the success of The Town) has offered him the chance to direct the recently revived Tales from the Gangster Squad. The story follows an LAPD off-the-books squad of mercenary cops who tried to chase infamous gangster Micky Cohen out of town back in the 1940's.

Check This Out: New International Poster for Disney's Tangled
Our friends at SlashFilm have debuted a brand new international poster for Disney's upcoming animated movie Tangled, which is perfect timing because I happened to see the movie last night. Disney hosted a fun fall showcase event on their lot last night and we got to see Tangled (plus 25 minutes of Tron Legacy, which was awesome). As for the movie, I agree with Kris Tapley of In Contention (who also attended) in saying that Tangled is a wonderfully entertaining animated flick that reminds me of many great Disney classics. We saw a rough cut, but I loved it quite a bit, and I'm excited to see the finished version. Check out the poster below!

Legendary Actor Tony Curtis Peacefully Passes Away at Age 85
Too many people have been dying lately. Sally Menke unexpectedly passed earlier this week, Gloria Stuart died after a century of life, filmmaker Arthur Penn left us and comedian Greg Giraldo also died just yesterday. More sad news came today as ABC News reported legendary Academy Award nominated actor Tony Curtis peacefully passed away next to his wife in their bed around midnight last night. The actor is probably best known for playing Antonius in the 1960 epic Spartacus and also starring opposite Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe in Some Like it Hot, the 1959 comedy which has truly stood the test of time.

It's Finally Happening - Myst The Movie is Now in the Works!
I will never forget the months of my youth that I spent, often frustrated, scouring the mysterious island from Myst. I knew, even back then, that they would one day turn it into a movie, I just didn't think it would take 17+ years. Deadline reports that producers Hunt Lowry (A Time to Kill, Cypher) and Mark Johnson (Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Chronicles of Narnia) have partnered with Adrian Vanderbosch and Isaac Testerman of Mysteria Film to acquire the rights to the Myst series from Cyan Worlds to develop into a live-action feature. After hitting shelves in 1993, Myst has gone on to become the biggest selling adventure game ever.
