Must Watch: Depp & Jolie Star in 'The Tourist' Official Trailer

The Tourist Trailer

Sony has finally debuted the official trailer (on Yahoo) for their highly anticipated winter film The Tourist starring both Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp as two "mysterious" individuals, as well as Paul Bettany, Rufus Sewell and Timothy Dalton. This is Sony's sneaky sleeper hit release that they recently scheduled for December, but it looks like it might be quite good, even though it does look like a Hollywood blockbuster. I like the look of the whole film, Depp looks like he might be better than ever before, and I know there's going to be some interesting twists and turns. Should be a great film to watch, can't wait to see it! Check this out!

Ron Perlman Also Taking a 'Drive' with Nicolas Winding Refn

Carey Mulligan

For his first big action feature, director Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson) sure is lining up a great cast to keep it running on all cylinders. The forthcoming Hossein Amini (Four Feathers) written adaptation of James Sallis' novel Drive will see Ryan Gosling as a nameless Hollywood stuntman (Gosling) who moonlights as a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a freelance getaway driver during robberies. In the passenger seat is Carey Mulligan while Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks and even Albert Brooks are in the mix. Now Screen Daily says Ron Perlman (Hellboy) has joined the impressive cast as well.

Toronto Review: James Wan's Creepy New Horror 'Insidious'

James Wan's Insidious

Holy sh*t that was scary! I'm admittedly very easily freaked out and I tend to stay away from ghost thrillers because they scare the crap out of me. But I am very glad I decided to see James Wan's Insidious tonight. I'm a fan of Wan's work (the original Saw, Dead Silence, Death Sentence) and I love watching his fresh new takes on the horror genre, and this time he has definitely created something very unique, something we've never seen before, and it's awesome. It reminded me of a modern mash-up of Poltergeist, The Exorcist, and old school Sam Raimi with some kooky (and enjoyable) laughs, but boy is it just a damn good horror movie!

Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Roland Joffé's There Be Dragons

There Be Dragons Trailer

Note: There are no dragons in this movie. I don't know why it's called There Be Dragons (someone care to explain?) but a new teaser trailer arrived online months ago but is just now circulating so I thought we'd feature it now. There Be Dragons is an epic action-adventure-drama set against the Spanish Civil War based on the true story of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, the founder of Opus Dei. His own epic story is paired against the lives of fictional characters and the action background of the armed conflict. This has a big cast including: Charlie Cox, Wes Bentley, Olga Kurylenko, Rodrigo Santoro, Lily Cole and Dougray Scott. Enjoy!

Andy Fickman Overseeing the Fight of 'Boy Scouts vs. Zombies'

Carey Mulligan

Earlier this year we were given the treat of seeing the amazing fight fest that was Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,  but another battle of epic proportions is on the way. Production Weekly announced (via Twitter) that Andy Fickman (Race to Witch Mountain) will direct the horror comedy Boy Scouts vs Zombies. The film comes from a spec script by writers Carrie Evans & Emi Mochizuki (the duo behind College Road Trip). Honestly, when this title first came up the concept sounded so outrageous and off-the-wall that I couldn't help but be intrigued. However, with these family fare filmmakers behind it, I'm not too thrilled.

Check These Out: Four Wild 'n Wacky Posters for 'Jackass 3D'

Jackass 3D Posters

I'm not a fan of Jackass, but I am looking forward to checking out Jackass 3D (watch the teaser), mainly due to /Film Peter Sciretta's endless enthusiasm (he is very excited to see it). I've heard the 3D will be crazy because they put the camera is some of the wildest (and most disgusting) places you can imagine. A series of four official posters for the movie recently debuted via Cinema Blend, each with a different wacky antic from the movie, and you can check them out below. I'm not fond of the design, but I'll admit I definitely do want to see what the crazy bull headbuttin' Knoxville while on rollerskates gag is all about. Check 'em out below!

Toronto Review: Richard Ayoade's Indie Comedy 'Submarine'

Richard Ayoade's Submarine

This is it. This is the wonderful, amusing, brilliant little indie gem I've been waiting to stumble across here at the Toronto Film Festival. The film is called Submarine and its the directorial debut of The IT Crowd actor and former The Mighty Boosh member Richard Ayoade. It was produced by Ben Stiller's Red Hour Films and stars young newcomer Craig Roberts as a quirky 15-year-old British kid named Oliver Tate (seen above). Its been described by others (so I can't take credit for this) as Rushmore meets The Squid and the Whale and that's dead on accurate. And damn is it good, I mean really good, one of the best films of TIFF.

Terry Jones & John Oliver Will Be Doing 'Absolutely Anything'

Carey Mulligan

Though Phoenix Pictures is currently enjoying a lot of buzz for Darren Aronofsky's highly anticipated Black Swan, the company is making the hump from the darkly serious to the raucously hilarious. Deadline reports the company has lined up Absolutely Anything, a new comedy project featuring the talents of Monty Python troupe member Terry Jones and "Daily Show" correspondent and stand-up comedian John Oliver. Written by Jones and Gavin Scott (Small Soldiers). Though details are sparse on the story, it apparently involves "aliens, a goofy Brit, a talking dog and buckets of silliness." Brilliant!

Warner Bros Heading to 'Cicero' for Al Capone's Origin Story

Carey Mulligan

Plenty of films have explored the life and exploits of Al Capone as the height of his crime wave, but now Variety reports Warner Bros will journey into the past for a story looking at the origins of the notorious gangster. The studio has picked up the screenplay Cicero from Walon Green, writer of the 1969 western The Wild Bunch. The film chronicles Capone's rise from the slums of Brooklyn to the head of the criminal underworld in Chicago during Prohibition, when his gang operated casinos and speakeasies throughout the city. However, don't be expecting another mob movie in the same vein as Public Enemies from 2009. Read on!

Kid Twist Will Con No More as Actor Harold Gould Dies at 86

Carey Mulligan

The cunning, mustached Kid Twist took part in one of the greatest cons to grace the silver screen in The Sting. But Paul Newman and Robert Redford wouldn't have had a partner in crime if it wasn't for character actor Harold Gould who sadly passed away over the weekend at 86 years-old. The actor died on September 11th after a struggle with prostate cancer. Before The Sting, Gould previously found success alongside Newman in Harper and with Redford in Inside Daisy Clover. The actor gained even more fame by appearing in over 100 TV series incuding "Golden Girls," "Hogan's Heroes," "Hawaii Five-0," and, perhaps most notably, "Rhoda."

My Fair Lady Remake with Carey Mulligan Not Coming Soon

Carey Mulligan

When we heard that the proposed remake of My Fair Lady finally had a director in John Madden (Shakespeare in Love), I still wasn't excited to see the classic 1964 movie musical (based on the 1956 Broadway play) recycled on the big screen. But when the film's screenwriter, actress Emma Thompson, revealed that Carey Mulligan was lined up to play Eliza Doolittle, I was immediately sold on the prospect. However, Mulligan seemed completely out of the loop on the project shortly thereafter. Fortunately, the young actress cleared things up by finally saying she has read the script, would love to do the film, but it's not happening anytime soon.
