Check Out Jerod Gibson's Movie Quotes '37 Posters' Art Prints
More sleek art prints to check out. This time they're from designer Jerod Gibson who designed a series of posters for various movies that feature quotes typographically fitted into various minimalistic objects from each film. For example, the Millennium Falcon has quotes from Star Wars stuffed in it; a bowling ball has quotes from The Big Lebowski; the briefcase from Pulp Fiction, obviously, contains quotes (but no one still knows what's inside of it). The series is called 37 Posters though, oddly, there are only 12 posters currently available, but they're pretty damn cool and I'm thinking of buying a couple of the nice Giclée prints myself.

Derick Martini Directing Summer Camp Movie 'Cabin Pressure'
Last November we heard that Lymelife director Derick Martini had setup a comedy, I Am My Family's Secret, to direct at Paramount. In addition, we found out this past June that he was also rewriting/directing an adaptation of Andrea Portes' novel Hick with Chloe Moretz attached. Though we haven't heard anything about the production or eventual release of these films, Variety throws yet another onto his growing resume. Martini has now signed on to direct the summer camp comedy Cabin Pressure, based on Josh Wolk's 2007 book Cabin Pressure: One Man's Desperate Attempt to Recapture His Youth as a Camp Counselor.

Casting Tidbits: Alexis Bledel, Guy Pearce and Carla Gugino
One more gun goes off and I'll give the Casting Tidbits myself. Understand? Don't think you've bought anything by asking me to come here. Because you need to remember I am a stranger to you. You have no idea what I'm capable of. First up, Variety confirms what's we'd heard just last week as Alexis Bledel (Sin City, "Gilmore Girls") will join Saoirse Ronan as the teenage assassins Violet & Daisy. The story sees the pair lured into what is supposed to be just another quick and easy job, only to find complications as the man they're supposed to kill is not what they expected. Precious screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher is directing.

David O. Russell May Direct 'Under Cover' Starring Jim Carrey
Hot on the heels of the first trailer for David O. Russell's long awaited boxing drama The Fighter (finally getting released in December), it looks like the director may be lining up a wholly surprising and completely unexpected new project. 24 Frames reports Russell is being considered to direct Under Cover, a comedy we heard about back in August with Jim Carrey attached. The story follows a recently divorced dad of two who joins a youthful cover band to raise money to win the custody battle against his ex-wife. This would be comedy territory that hasn't been explored by Russell since 1996's Flirting with Disaster.

Eastwood Wants Joaquin Phoenix as J. Edgar Hoover's Lover
With the upcoming big screen adaptation of the life of J. Edgar Hoover, founder of the FBI, already having Clint Eastwood behind the camera and Leonardo DiCaprio in front of it, Hoover was already quite the high profile project. Well there's a chance it could get even more attention as Vulture has revealed Joaquin Phoenix, fresh off his crazy, documented, public facade in I'm Still Here, is the top choice to play Hoover's protégé suspected lover Clyde Tolson. Frequently referred to in contemporary settings as an ambiguously gay crime-fighting duo, the two were in close contact at both the FBI and also in their social lives. Read on!

John Goodman Taking Residence in Kevin Smith's 'Red State'
In August we found out that the long talked about horror project Red State from fan fave filmmaker Kevin Smith would finally be shooting this month. Though most of the cast had already been revealed, one name hadn't yet made headlines until now. Hollywood Babble-On, an offshoot of Smith's Smodcast, has revealed (via ShockTillYouDrop) that John Goodman has joined the cast in an unknown role. The film (which is doing pre-shoots now) focuses on a group of kids who encounter a crazed preacher (based on Fred Phelps, founder of the Westboro Baptist Church) who gives a new meaning to the term "extreme fundamentalism."

Catherine Hardwicke's 'Haml3t' with Emile Hirsch is Not to Be
It's been over a year since we'd heard any news regarding production on the contemporary half-musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Haml3t from director Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Lords of Dogtown) and starring Emile Hirsch. Last we heard, shooting was going to commence in October of 2009, but since almost an entire year has passed and production definitely hasn't started up, something must be wrong. The Playlist confirms these fears as a source close to production has revealed that the intriguing project, has fallen apart and won't be getting off the ground anytime soon without taking arms against a sea of troubles.

Toronto Video Interview: Producer/Mentor Guillermo del Toro
One of my favorite filmmakers is Guillermo del Toro, I've loved him for years, and I've been waiting talk with him for years as well. I'm sure I don't need to explain why he's so great, as most of you guys love him, too. I was offered an interview with del Toro at the Toronto Film Festival last week as he was in town in support of the Spanish horror/thriller Julia's Eyes (check out a trailer), which he produced. I decided to interview him, but wanted to focus more on his mentoring of younger filmmakers, like Guillem Morales of Julia's Eyes and Juan Antonio Bayona of The Orphanage, so my focus is that topic, but we still cover a lot.

Natalie Portman and Jeunet Interested in Edgy Snow White?
Back in June we heard about and edgy reimagining of Snow White from writer Melisa Wallack, Relativity Media and producer Brett Ratner. Now the project has the attention of some interesting talent in front of and behind the camera, though at this point nothing is a done deal and should be regarded only as rumor. Pajiba says Natalie Portman, who is receiving enormous buzz for her performance in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, has expressed interest in playing Snow White while Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie) has an eye towards directing. And in case you forgot, Ratner said, "This is not your grandfather's Snow White."

MakingOf Chats with 'The Social Network' Writer Aaron Sorkin
There is less than two weeks left until David Fincher's The Social Network arrives in theaters everywhere and the buzz is really starting to get very crazy. I'm not the only one who believes that screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (of A Few Good Men & Charlie Wilson's War previously) will be getting the Oscar next year for his script and I definitely think he deserves it. We haven't had the chance to speak with Sorkin, but our friends at the great site MakingOf did get to sit down with Aaron Sorkin for a few minutes to chat about the movie, including its factual accuracy, insanely smart and fast dialogue, and much more. Check out the video below!

Don't Watch: Starz Animation's New 'Gnomeo & Juliet' Trailer
I know this is supposed to be for kids and not me (so they say), but I'd take DreamWorks' movies any day over this crap. Touchstone, which is essentially Disney, has debuted a trailer for an animated movie called Gnomeo & Juliet coming out next February. Made by Starz Animation (Space Chimps, 9), the concept is essentially like Night at the Museum but with garden gnomes, or maybe I should say this is more of a Toy Story ripoff, as that's what I thought after watching this trailer. None of the jokes really connected, I never laughed, and it's a brutalized take on the classic Shakespeare play. Or at least that's what I think. Enjoy?
