Watch: An Inside Look at The Green Hornet's Black Beauty Car
"Explore one of the sweetest rides in comic book history in this exclusive video tour of The Green Hornet's Black Beauty." Metacafe (via Collider) debuted a new behind-the-scenes featurette presenting an inside look at the mechanics, operation and secret weapons hidden inside the sleek Black Beauty car used in Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry's The Green Hornet (watch the trailer). We've seen this green car on display at Comic-Con for years, so it's not a first look or anything but it is an extensive video and fun to watch if you're an automobile enthusiast or a fan of The Green Hornet. Not sure it'll help win anyone over, though. Enjoy!

New Writers for Twisted's Revamp of 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre'
Didn't know there was another Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the works? There is! Over a year ago, Saw production company Twisted Pictures took over the rights to the classic horror franchise started in 1974 by director Tobe Hooper, and has a "contemporary" version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in development. Well, Bloody-Disgusting and ShockTillYouDrop are both reporting that Twisted has just hired a new set of writers, Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan (both of Conspiracy), to take a stab at the script. Originally, they had The Grudge writer Stephen Susco on this, but now they've got new blood in to rework the script.

Empire Slowly Revealing Our First Look at the New CGI Tintin
We're now about 14 months away from the release of Peter Jackson & Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin. Although we're still a long ways away, I've been surprised that we haven't seen a photo from the animated movie, especially because they finished shooting back in March of last year. That said, Tintin isn't a popular character here in the US, but is throughout the rest of the world, so it only makes sense that Sony and Paramount (co-distributing) chose Empire to debut the very first look at the CGI character. However, we're not fully there yet, as they just kicked off a nifty little visual countdown for the reveal on their website.

Roland Emmerich About to Start Shooting a Secret Sci-Fi Project
I guess alien invasion sci-fi movies really are all the rage right now. Though he's been working on his period drama Anonymous, explosive German filmmaker Roland Emmerich has apparently been secretly working on another small project. Heat Vision reports that Emmerich is already preparing to shoot a film called The Zone, another "found footage" sci-fi film, like Cloverfield, that revolves around an alien invasion. No other plot details are known, but Emmerich will cast improv-based unknown actors and work with a $5 million budget. Whoa! Give or take Anonymous, he hasn't worked with a budget less than $100 million since 1994!

Watch: Badass New Trailer for Jason Statham Action Flick 'Blitz'
This is the kind of movie that Jason Statham was born to star in. Just let him be a British badass "tough guy" who kicks peoples' asses all day long and alter his character slightly each time and I'll watch a hundred of these movies. Yahoo UK (via SlashFilm) debuted a trailer for an action-thriller called Blitz starring Jason Statham that looks totally badass, plain and simple. Statham plays a tough guy, of course, who gets hired by the cops to track down a serial killer who's killing off the cops. It kind of reminds me of Snatch with its style and the energy it has, I'm really digging it. You've probably never heard of this, but now it's on your radar.

Review: Kevin Greutert's Saw 3D Blows Up the Idea of Simplicity
The word "simplicity" has been cut up, torn apart, bled out, and, with the latest entry into the ever-going Saw franchise, blown up. The idea of two people trapped in a room, one having to find a way, any way, to kill the other in order to save his family has long gone. At this point, though, anyone who ventures into a theater to see a Saw film knows precisely what they're getting, and, unfortunately, the people behind Saw 3D don't bother to shake things up too much. At least, not until the nearly redeeming final 10 minutes.

Fox Sets 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' to Hit June 2012
I'm not sure why, but all the news coming from the movie studios today involves announcing major release dates. Universal secured a big batch of 2012+ dates for their projects, including The Bourne Legacy, Snow White and the Huntsman, 47 Ronin, Ouija and The Dark Tower, but that's not the only news. 20th Century Fox set a June 22nd, 2012 release for the upcoming Timur Bekmambetov directed adaptation Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Yes this is that awesome revised classic written by Seth Grahame-Smith (also of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies) that the guy of Wanted and Night Watch is directing. Sounds great to me!

Anderson & Baumbach Producing Peter Bogdanovich's Next Film
The truly original and eccentric filmmakers Noah Baumbach (right) and Wes Anderson (middle) have previously collaborated with stupendous results. Baumbach scripted Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Fantastic Mr. Fox and their styles couldn't have meshed any better. Now the two are teaming up again, but this time as producers. In a new interview with the National Post (via The Playlist) director Peter Bogdonavich (The Last Picture Show) revealed a few new projects he's working on including a screwball comedy called Squirrel to the Nuts which will be produced by both Baumbach and Anderson. Read on!

'Snow White and the Hunstman' Lead Offered to Johnny Depp
In a press release today, Universal announced release dates for many of their forthcoming tentpole films including a December 21st, 2012 release for the fairytale adaptation Snow White and the Huntsman. While we've heard names like Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie and Tom Hardy tossed around for possible roles in the film, it's a slow news day today, which means an unlikely casting scoop has made its way online. The Wrap is now reporting Alice in Wonderland producer Joe Roth is looking to work with his Mad Hatter, actor Johnny Depp, yet again. An offer is apparently out to the actor for the lead role of the huntsman.

Watch: First Trailer for William Monahan's 'London Boulevard'
More British gangster flicks, hell yes, there can never be enough! Ready to see the In Bruges prequel? Not really, but close enough. A new trailer has debuted on YouTube (via SlashFilm) for screenwriter William Monahan's directorial debut, London Boulevard, a gritty British crime drama/thriller about a man just released with prison who falls in love with a movie star and finds himself in a fight with a vicious gangster. The film stars Colin Farrell, Keira Knightley, Ray Winstone, Stephen Graham, David Thewlis, Eddie Marsan, Anna Friel. This actually looks pretty damn good, I'm very much looking forward to seeing it now.

Must Watch: A Spectacular '15 Years of Fox Searchlight' Video
I have said time and time again that Fox Searchlight is one of my favorite studios in Hollywood. From the way they market and release their films, to the indies they acquire at festivals, there's just something about everything they do that I love. Searchlight was founded in 1995, making this year their 15th Anniversary. Our friends at SlashFilm recently found this spectacular 15 Years of Fox Searchlight montage video and it's a big must watch. "15 Years of Drama, Compassion, Icons, Romance and Challenges. Some of the best indie flicks came were brought to us by Fox Searchlight... Here's a quick recap of what they've brought us."

Director Brian Taylor Talks Better Special FX for 'Ghost Rider 2'
I'm amazed to see that Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are actually still directing Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance for Sony, but apparently they have been given the greenlight and shooting is underway in Eastern Europe. If you've been following Neveldine/Taylor on Twitter, you may have noticed a tweet they wrote recently saying that "the dual role of blaze/zarathos will be a nic cage [sic] classic." That tweet caused a bit of confusion amongst fans, so Collider got in touch with Brian Taylor and got clarification by way of an answer that actually explains how they're using even better special effects than the first movie.
