Spielberg's 'War Horse' Pushed to December 2011, After 'Tintin'

Steven Spielberg / War Horse

We just updated our 2011 Release Schedule, so I thought it would be appropriate to mention that the release date of Steven Spielberg's War Horse, the first movie he's directed since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, has changed. It was originally set to hit theaters in early August next year, at the end of the summer, but Disney (who's releasing all DreamWorks movies) has pushed it to December 28th, 2011. The interesting thing about that date is that it's only five days after The Adventures of Tintin, co-directed by Spielberg and Peter Jackson, arrives in theaters (on December 23rd), but maybe that's not that big of a deal.

Watch: Badass Theatrical Trailer for Nic Cage's 'Drive Angry 3D!'

Drive Angry 3D

He broke out of hell... to make things right. C'mon, really, that's the voiceover they're using in this? Summit has debuted the theatrical trailer on Yahoo for Patrick Lussier's Drive Angry 3D starring a nasty Nicolas Cage and sexy Amber Heard and it's pretty much a must watch, for better or worse. This actually doesn't look that bad, pretty much just a crazy, explosive revenge flick with a lot of guns, fast cars, sexy babes, huge explosions, supernatural fight scenes, and apparently the devil, too. It really does get better when William Fichtner shows up. I really want to hear everyone's opinion on this, it's totally frickin' crazy, so fire it up!

Paul Verhoeven Directing Spicy, Supernatural Thriller 'Eternal'

Paul Verhoeven

We've previously heard about a few different projects with this filmmaker involved, and now we can add yet another one into the mix. Having previously directed films like Showgirls and Basic Instinct, director Paul Verhoeven is no stranger to the erotic, and it looks like he is headed back to the same territory. Deadline says Verhoeven has made a deal to direct Eternal, a supernatural thriller described as Fatal Attraction, but with a "succubus temptress." The idea and script comes from David Loughery, behind the sensual thriller Obsessed. Production is slated for next summer, but it's not clear if this will be Verhoeven's next project.

Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones Playing with 'Muppets'

Adams / Cooper / Jones

A little over a week ago we heard Amy Adams was in the process of considering a trio of different roles. Now we have word on her officially joining at least one of the previously reported projects as EW reports she has chosen to star in The Muppets (apparently this is the working title for the time being), the newest film to feature Jim Henson's trademark puppet characters. In addition, Heat Vision also discovered Chris Cooper (The Town) and Rashida Jones (I Love You, Man) will also star alongside star Jason Segel in the film. Below you'll find information on all the characters these new cast members will play in the new film.

Robert De Niro & Sigourney Weaver Join Rodrigo Cortes' Next!

Weaver / De Niro

We haven't heard much about what Spanish filmmaker Rodrigo Cortes will follow-up his film Buried with, but Variety has details on his next project, titled Red Lights, that he wrote and will direct. Actors Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver are both attached to star in this new psychological thriller that focuses on a psychologist (Weaver), and her assistant whose study of paranormal activity leads them to investigate a world-renowned psychic (De Niro). The independent production will start shooting in February in Spain and Canada, as it's set in an "unidentified big US city." I'm really liking the sound of this project so far. Read on!

James Cameron Considering Directing Angelina Jolie's Cleopatra

Cleopatra / Angelina Jolie

In the summer we wrote about a project in the works called Cleopatra, based on Stacy Schiff's biography Cleopatra: A Life about the famous queen of Egypt. The adaptation was being developed by producer Scott Rudin (The Social Network, True Grit) "for and with Angelina Jolie," but was in the early development stages. Well, Deadline is now saying that Sony Pictures really wants James Cameron to direct the movie and they're "exploring this seriously, but it is not a certainty that it will happen." Never in a million years would I thought we'd hear Cameron's name being thrown around for a historic, biographical epic like this.

Sultry Story Details Arrive for RDJ's 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

Wizard of Oz / Robert Downey Jr.

It was officially confirmed last week that Sam Raimi's next directing gig will indeed by Oz the Great and Powerful, a sort of faux-prequel to The Wizard of Oz about how the wizard arrived in Oz and became the deceptively powerful ruler. I'm excited to see this, just because I love Raimi's style and I know he'll do great things with a fun story like this. And speaking of the story, Pajiba has uncovered details about the plot of Oz the Great and Powerful and it involves a lot of sexual tension, but that makes this quite enticing, especially knowing that Robert Downey Jr. is still supposedly attached to star in the film as the Wizard. Read on!

J.J. Abrams to Produce Maya Forbes' Film 'Infinitely Polar Bear'

J.J. Abrams

Recalling the happenings on ABC's "Lost" from creator J.J. Abrams, it's not entirely surprising that a film titled Infinitely Polar Bear has fallen in his lap. However, it's a bit surprising that the story of this new producing gig for Abrams doesn't have some mystery behind it. Instead, Pajiba reports the film is a drama about a bipolar man who attempts to hold onto his stability in order to take care of his two daughters while their mother does her best to start a career. The title seems a little silly knowing the plot, but I'm impressed with Abrams' projects that we wouldn't usually expect to see, like Morning Glory with Rachel McAdams.

Ryan Gosling Gets Mischievous in the 'All Good Things' Trailer

All Good Things Trailer

"Don't let them get away with it." I've been intrigued to see an actual trailer for Andrew Jarecki's All Good Things ever since we featured the poster last week, just because it has a very interesting story behind it and Ryan Gosling usually always delivers. Magnolia has finally released the official trailer for the film on Apple and it definitely does look interesting. Gosling stars with Kirsten Dunst as a couple who get married, but things aren't what they seem, and it becomes some sort of mysterious thriller of sorts. I still don't know what happens, but that's probably a good thing, because I'd rather find out once I actually get to see this. Enjoy!

Amber Heard and Nicolas Cage on First 'Drive Angry 3D' Poster

Drive Angry 3D

All hell breaks lose. That's the tagline on this flashy, epic poster (via ShockTillYouDrop) for Patrick Lussier's Drive Angry 3D starring Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard, both seen starring off in opposite directions. If you don't remember what this is all about, go back and re-watch the first teaser trailer from Comic-Con. I don't know if they hired the same company or if this is just a straight rip-off, but damn does this look way too similar to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows official poster. Although I will say that the orange flames in the corner have more to do with this movie than they do with Harry Potter. Anyway, check it out!

McQuarrie Writing Top Gun 2 with Smaller Role for Tom Cruise?

Tom Cruise

It may finally be time to kick the tires and light the fires again with some interesting developments that may bring new life to a long rumored Top Gun sequel. Vulture reports Paramount Pictures has offered producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to return for a sequel, and apparently writer Christopher McQuarrie (Valkyrie, Usual Suspects) is in line to update the script. Why the new interest? Apparently this new script update has a smaller role for Tom Cruise to return as Maverick, and the actor has agreed to take it as long as it's not too "obvious," like having him play some grumpy Air Force instructor. Read on!

Must Watch: Adrien Brody in Survival Thriller 'Wrecked' Trailer

Wrecked Trailer

Here's the concept in Wrecked: A man awakens in a car at the bottom of a ravine in the wilderness with a broken leg surrounded by a bunch of dead people; he has no clue how he got there and has no memory, so he doesn't even know who he is. He's delusional, but hears on the radio that his name is Raymond and he's wanted in connection with a bank heist gone wrong. How's that for a starting point? Wrecked stars Adrien Brody and despite not even having a US distributor or release date, MTV has debuted the first full-length trailer for the indie film and it looks awesome. I love the style, I love the entire setup, I'm dying to see this.
