First Official Photo of Chris Evans Suited Up as Captain America

Captain America

We've featured some official concept art and various photos of a stuntman in full costume have shown up online thanks to the London shoot of Captain America: The First Avenger. However, today we finally have our first official look at Chris Evans dressed in the red, white and blue. Though he's not wearing the mask, the full cover (below) gets me pumped to see this next summer. Evans recalls how he almost didn't take the role: "I was just scared. I realized my whole decision making process was fear based, and you never want to make a decision out of fear. I can't believe was almost too chicken to play Captain America."

Casting Tidbits: Eugene Levy, Jeremy Piven and Casey Affleck

Levy / Piven / Affleck

We're now a quarter of an inch tall, and sixty four feet from the Casting Tidbits. That's an equivalent of three-point-two miles. That's a long way. Even for a man of science. First up, Variety reports the hilarious Eugene Levy has snagged a role in the hockey centric comedy Goon, an adaptation of Doug Smith and Adam Frattasio's book Goon: The True Story of an Unlikely Journey Into Minor League Hockey. The film follows a bouncer (Seann William Scott) who joins a rag-tag hockey team and inspires them to greatness and Jay Baruchel is already signed on to play his best friend. No word on what character Levy will play, but a good bet might be the coach.

Matt Damon Talks About Bourne & Soderbergh's Liberace Biopic

Matt Damon

Lately there's been a lot of chatter surrounding the new offshoot of the Bourne franchise that Matt Damon helped build with directors Tony Gilroy and Paul Greengrass. Though Damon and the latter director stepped away from another sequel, recently it was revealed Gilroy would both direct and write the next installment, The Bourne Legacy, but without the focus on amnesiac operative Jason Bourne. In an interview with EW, Damon cleared the air about recent comments that made him seem a bit out of the loop and bitter about the Bourne-less feature and even has news on the gestating Liberace biopic from director Steven Soderbergh.

Watch: Official US Trailer for 'Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale'

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale Trailer

I know it's barely Halloween, and we're still a ways from Christmas, but it's still the perfect time to debut a new trailer for Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale, a crazy Finnish "Santa Claus" horror film which can't be described. Oscilliscope, who is releasing the US, debut the new high def trailer on Apple. Rare Exports is set in Finland and is about some locals who find a crazy Santa Claus-lookin' dirty guy, dug up from the ice of a huge mountain, running around. I had the chance to see this in Toronto, and it's a beautifully shot movie, but I had some problems with the story that I can't explain for spoiler reasons, but many others still loved it.

Official Poster for John Cameron Mitchell's 'Rabbit Hole' Debuts

Rabbit Hole

Love will get you through. The official poster for Lionsgate's upcoming release of John Cameron Mitchell's Rabbit Hole has just debuted online over on HitFix. This follows the wonderful trailer that debuted last week for the indie drama starring Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman as grieving parents. Oddly enough, it's only Kidman who ended up on this poster (visually at least), even though I thought they'd want to focus their awards campaign on both Kidman and Eckhart. That said, it's still a great poster, I like the design, it's very eye catching. I'm already looking forward to seeing this, so they don't really need to sell me any more.

Tom Cruise Offered a Supporting Role in Musical 'Rock of Ages'

Tom Cruise as Les Grossman

After bringing a lot of laughs to Tropic Thunder as fictional super-producer Les Grossman (who might still get his own film sometime down the road), it looks like Tom Cruise could go from yelling at the top of his lungs, to singing his heart out. At least that might happen as Deadline reports an offer is out to Cruise for a supporting role in Adam Shankman's film adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages. Apparently his role would be that of a bartender who gets to rock out to a slew of classic 80's songs from all the best hair bands of the time. Though he has to say yes first, there may be even more skepticism in his casting. Read on!

J.J. Abrams' 'Super 8' is Officially Set to Hit Theaters Next June

Super 8

Briefly: Paramount Pictures has officially set a release date for J.J. Abrams' upcoming sci-fi film Super 8, being produced by Steven Spielberg, on June 10th, 2011 next summer. That is the same day Universal's Fast Five and the romantic comedy Something Borrowed will hit theaters, but I guarantee you that Super 8 will win the crowd. Abrams' is currently shooting the top secret alien sci-fi flick in West Virginia and already released an early teaser trailer back in May to setup/tease the concept. There is also an on-going viral for the film that involves a fictional ice cream treat called Rocket Poppeteers. But that's about all we know so far...!

Wesley Snipes Set to Star in Martial Arts Comedy 'Master Daddy'

Wesley Snipes

Don't let the title fool you, this doesn't really sound that bad. Although he's been talking about the return of the Blade series and another J. Edgar Hoover film with other members of the press, Wesley Snipes is also lining up some other projects. Variety reports that Snipes will both star in & produce a martial arts comedy called Master Daddy. "This multi-racial action comedy is a mix of Kung Fu Hustle and Meet the Parents," Snipes said. That doesn't sound too good. Tayrona Entertainment is cofinancing with Snipes' Maandi Media Entertainment, with production beginning this fall for release sometime in 2011. But there's more - read on!

Adam Berg to Make Feature Directorial Debut with Deadpool?

Deadpool

Apparently scheduling conflicts might prevent Robert Rodriguez from directing the big screen adaptation of Marvel comics' anti-hero Deadpool. While you might expect another big name director to fill the void left by Rodriguez, apparently an unlikely name has surfaced as a potential candidate. Though he's never directed a feature length film, 24 Frames says Swedish commercials and video director Adam Berg is their current top choice. Apparently the producers and Ryan Reynolds were impressed enough by Berg's style and resume to make him a top contender. Though you may not know Berg by name yet, you should recognize his work.
