Mel Gibson's Cameo in 'The Hangover 2' Has Been Thrown Out
You may be surprised to learn that the rumor we'd heard earlier this week concerning a cameo from Mel Gibson in the eagerly anticipated sequel to The Hangover was actually true. Multiple sources confirmed that the struggling actor was indeed making a small appearance in the comedy. However, reports from TMZ indicated that some members of the cast weren't as pleased with the hilarious potential and Gibson's cameo had been cut. Now Deadline and The Wrap confirm the gossip site's report complete with a short statement from director Todd Phillips explaining that it's a tough decision to make, but ultimately a necessary one.

Watch: Saucy New Red Band 'I Love You Phillip Morris' Trailer
Roadside Attractions has debuted a saucy new red band trailer for Glenn Ficarra & John Requa's I Love You Phillip Morris, the independent comedy starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor as gay lovers who meet in prison. Obviously this trailer ain't red band because of any violence, so be prepared with that in mind going in, as there's one scene that will definitely catch you off guard at the start. Other than that, this is actually a great film, I say it's worth seeing if you found this trailer the least bit enjoyable, as this gives us a more accurate taste of what the film is like. I Love You Phillip Morris finally hits theaters thid December.

Colin Farrell, Michael Fassbender or Tom Hardy for 'Total Recall'
Back at the end of July we heard that director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld) would direct the remake of Total Recall, the adaptation of Philip K. Dick's short story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. Now Heat Vision has news on who might step into the shoes for the lead role once filled by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Paul Verhoeven's 1990 adaptation. Apparently a shortlist of contenders has been crafted by Columbia Pictures with Colin Farrell at the top of the list. In addition, Tom Hardy (Inception) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) are also listed as potential candidates to head to Mars.

Another Epic New 'Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows' TV Spot
I'm trying not to sound overly hyperbolic, but I really mean it when I say the footage for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows keeps getting more epic the closer we get. Arriving in theaters in a month is Part I of the epic Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows finale. We've seen endless amounts of posters, a few trailers that were already pretty frickin' epic (this is the conclusion to a seven-part series of book), and now these TV spots. This one was sent to us by Warner Bros and is worth watching if you just can't handle the excitement anymore. Check it out below, but try not to watch too much for this before it hits theaters!

'The Shield' Creator Adpating Tom Clancy's 'Without Remorse'
Although his gritty police drama "The Shield" has been over for a couple years, executive producer Shawn Ryan has been standing strong with successful series like "Lie to Me" on Fox and now "Terriers" on FX. But now it looks like the TV creator and producer is making the jump to the big screen. Vulture reports Ryan has been hired to write an adaptation of Tom Clancy's 1993 novel Without Remorse, which follows recurring character John Kelly as opposed to the cinematically familiar Jack Ryan. In addition, it looks like writers and producers Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) will be producing this.

Watch: Greg Nicotero's Short Film United Monster Talent Agency
"What if the movie monsters of yesteryear weren't make-ups, but real semi-trained creatures brought in to be filmed?" That's the concept of Greg Nicotero's new short film United Monster Talent Agency, which debuted at Fantastic Fest and is now online. Quint from AICN first found the video, which was debuted on the AMC TV blog. Given that it's a few weeks away from Halloween, this is the perfect time to watch this fun horror-themed short, which features guest appearances by Eli Roth, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Darabont. Now I want to see Nicotero direct a full-length feature! Get it while its hot - check out his short film below.

Will Smith Attached to Remake of 'Colossus: The Forbin Project'
It's been over three years since we last heard about Ron Howard's remake of the 1970 film Colossus: The Forbin Project, an adaptation of the 1966 sci-fi novel by Dennis Feltham Jones. But in the recent news about writer Jason Rothenberg scripting the adaptation of The Twilight Zone, Deadline included a second story unto itself. The writer is also adapting Colossus for Universal and Imagine Entertainment, but the real gem in the news is that Will Smith is attached to star in the story of the world's first-ever sentient computer and the misunderstood genius who gains power over the world due to its unprecedented abilities.

Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer Directing 'Hellraiser' Remake
Previously, we hadn't heard any news regarding Dimension Films remake of the horror favorite Hellraiser since director Pascal Laugier was taken off the project. But recently, rumors coming from Bloody-Disgusting surfaced that Christian E. Christiansen was going to direct a PG-13 friendly remake with everyone's favorite Pinhead potentially terrorizing the super hot rising star Amber Heard. Well, hardcore fans needn't worry about those silly rumors since ShockTillYouDrop and Collider both independently confirmed that Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer (of My Bloody Valentine 3D, Drive Angry 3D) are now behind this remake.

Jason Rothenberg Writing the Adaptation of 'The Twilight Zone'
We haven't heard anything about the new big screen adaptation of the classic anthology TV series The Twilight Zone since Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way hired screenwriter Rand Ravich (The Astronaut's Wife) to script the project over a year ago. But now Deadline reports Jason Rothenberg is taking over writing duties for the big screen take on classic tales from Rod Serling. Details on the segments that might make up the feature are practically non-existent, but there's an entire library from which Rothenberg can choose. However, it's not clear whether this is just a simple rewrite or a total overhaul on the entire script.

Oh hell yes! We've been waiting for weeks to catch the reveal of the official Daft Punk poster for the Tron Legacy soundtrack and it's finally been derezzed. Over on the official website you'll see the poster that Daft Punk made for the release of the soundtrack. I'm sure there will be more exciting events relating Daft Punk yet to come. And yes, as you'll see in the animated gif below, certain "white" portions of the poster glow-in-the-dark, which totally makes this 100x geekier. Check out this poster below!

Heitor Dhalia to Direct Dakota Fanning in Adaptation 'If I Stay'
Most know who Dakota Fanning is, but I'm not sure too many know who Heitor Dhalia is, even though you should. Dhalia is a talented Brazilian filmmaker who directed one of my favorite movies of the last few years, Adrift with Vincent Cassel (watch a trailer), that never got released, not even on DVD. A shame, but apparently someone in Hollywood saw it, because Dhalia has been hired for another new mainstream movie. Summit has set Dhalia to direct (via Variety) and is in talks with Dakota Fanning for an adaptation of Gayle Forman's young adult novel If I Stay, that sounds kind of like The Lovely Bones meets Charlie St. Cloud.

Sam Raimi Developing a New Version of 'The Day of the Triffids'
The triffids are coming! The triffids are growing! The triffids are killing! Sam Raimi has another project on his plate, too. Deadline reports that Mandate Pictures (The Strangers, Drag Me to Hell) won a bidding war recently for a new version of The Day of the Triffids that includes rights to the original novel, which was adapted into the 1962 sci-fi horror Invasion of the Triffids. At the helm is Sam Raimi, whose company Ghost House Pictures will produce this new version, but that's not all. "Raimi wants to direct it; the original was one of his favorite films as a boy." He's got a lot on his plate, but he may make room for this in the end.
