Larry Charles Reunites with Sacha Baron Cohen for 'The Dictator'
They collaborated for the innovative but annoyingly quotable comedy Borat and followed it up with the less impressive Brüno, and now it looks like director Larry Charles and the bold and daring comedic mind of Sacha Baron Cohen are together again. 24 Frames has learned that Charles is now attached to direct The Dictator, a film we'd heard about a couple times before which will have Cohen playing two different roles: a goat herder and a deposed foreign dictator who gets lost in the United States. It's not clear how or even if the stories will be linked, but the movie itself is apparently a mix of Coming to America and Trading Places.

Must Watch: First Full Teaser Trailer for Pixar's 'Cars 2' Debuts!
Start your engines... Disney has debuted the first full teaser trailer (via Disney.com) for Pixar's Cars 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Cars from 2006. The whole gang is back, including Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy as the voice of Mater. Yes, I realize this is one of the least liked Pixar franchises, but I'm hoping some of you will still be able to enjoy this, as I actually think it looks great. It's got a little mix of everything and wait, is that Michael Caine voicing Finn McMissile?! No roles have been announced, but it definitely sounds like him. This is just a lot of Cars fun, so kick back and enjoy!

Must Watch: Jason Statham in Official Trailer for 'The Mechanic'
A good mechanic is hard to find. As expected, after the debut of that gun-filled teaser poster yesterday, CBS Films has premiered the official trailer on MSN for Simon West's The Mechanic starring the always badass Jason Statham as yet another crafty, violent hitman. This is an action-packed modern remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson film and Arthur Bishop (Statham) eventually takes on an apprentice, played by Ben Foster. The plot is a bit more complex than that, but you get the idea. This doesn't look bad at all, but it doesn't look like much more than your standard hitman action flick, but I hope I'm wrong about that. Watch this below!

What's Up? First Official Teaser Poster for Greg Mottola's 'Paul'
Who's up for a close encounter? Yea, that's the tagline they're using for this. Empire debuted the first teaser poster for Greg Mottola's Paul, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as two comic geeks who befriend an alien named Paul voiced by Seth Rogen. We've seen a teaser trailer that I thought was hilarious, but others weren't too impressed. I'm expecting this to get some backlash for looking like everyone on it was made with 3D graphics. Plus, this just looks like Shaun of the Dead with an alien, which may or may not be a good way to sell it. I prefer this other banner much more. And sorry, but that Valentine's Day date is for the UK only!

Watch: Long Promo Trailer for 'Winnie' Starring Jennifer Hudson
Our friend Wilson at Black Voices debuted an early promo trailer (notice: it's very long and unpolished, so watch out) for Darrell Roodt's Winnie, a biopic telling the "whole story, good and bad," of Winnie Mandela, the former wife of South Africa's first black president, Nelson Mandela. Playing Winnie in the film is actress Jennifer Hudson, who hasn't appeared in much since her big debut in Dreamgirls. But best of all, playing Nelson Mandela this time is Terrence Howard, giving what looks like a riveting performance as a young, spirited Mandela compared to Morgan Freeman. It's a very long trailer, but this actually looks pretty good.

Scott Cooper Directing US Remake of Pablo Trapero's 'Carancho'
More foreign remakes on the way. There's a remake of Martyrs in the works as well, that Daniel Stamm just got attached to. Now Deadline reports that Imagine Entertainment is shopping the rights to a remake of the Argentinian thriller Carancho from Cannes this year. Attached to the project as director is Scott Cooper, who directed Crazy Heart, the film that got Jeff Bridges his Oscar. Writing it is Aaron Stockard, who worked with Ben Affleck on The Town and Gone Baby Gone. It seems like a solid indie project coming together, but of course the question is always asked - is this remake necessary? How many have seen Carancho anyway?

Director Antoine Fuqua & Gerard Butler Feeling the 'Afterburn'
Previously, we reported that Training Day director Antoine Fuqua was set to direct an adaptation of the 2005 Vince Flynn novel Consent to Kill. Later, we found out that Matthew Fox, Colin Farrell or Gerard Butler were in the running to lead the spy thriller. Though we haven't heard any recent developments on that project, it looks like Fuqua and Butler may end up working together on another project as Deadline reports the two are in talks to collaborate on an adaptation of Red 5 Comic's sci-fi comic book Afterburn. The story takes place a year after a solar flare burns half the surface of a planet, and treasure hunters return to retrieve what's left of value.

Carey Mulligan Officially Joining Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby'
Last week, before the weekend came along, we found out that the charming Carey Mulligan had become the frontrunner for Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Back when we first heard about Luhrmann's take on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, Amanda Seyfried had been mentioned for the part. Then names like Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson were in the running. However, Deadline has heard from director Baz Luhrmann himself that Mulligan is indeed his Daisy Buchanan. In a rare occasion, the filmmaker even provided a rehearsal picture of Mulligan all made-up in character which you can see below.

Check This Out: Anthony Hopkins Burning Up 'The Rite' Poster
"You can only defeat it when you believe." Warner Bros has debuted a rather impressive poster for Mikael Hafstrom's The Rite starring Anthony Hopkins as an exorcism expert. We've already seen the trailer, so we know what to expect with this intense exorcist thriller. I really admire the design of this poster, it's bold and original, and it really stands out. Plus, the inverse imagery with the cross is just brilliant. The Rite also stars Colin O’Donoghue as skeptical seminary student Michael Kovak as well as Alice Braga, Ciarán Hinds, Rutger Hauer and Toby Jones. Check out the full-size poster below and watch the trailer if you haven't yet.

'The Thing' Prequel's Delay Allowing for 'Additional Photography'
When we reported last week that Universal had pulled The Thing prequel of the release charts, we weren't sure if it was for a delay or otherwise. Well, now we have confirmation, as HitFix got in touch with producer Marc Abraham who explained the entire situation, confirming that it's just "not finished" and they have more work to do. Apparently The Thing, directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., is going in for a few weeks of "upcoming additional photography," which essentially means reshoots, giving them a chance to patch up any problems they've found while editing. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is returning to shoot more scenes.

Mike White is Fully Confirmed for 'Pride & Prejudice & Zombies'
We recently learned that a replacement for departed director David O. Russell, who was once set to helm the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's zombie-filled period romance Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, might lie in Mike White (writer of School of Rock and director of Year of the Dog). Deadline has confirmed that White just finalized a deal with Lionsgate and is officially onboard to direct the anticipated adaptation. The next step will be to find a replacement for departed lead actress Natalie Portman. While a couple names have been mentioned, they're simply the usual suspects considered for most major female Hollywood roles.

Check This Out: Jason Statham's 'The Mechanic' Teaser Poster!
Someone has to fix the problems. CBS Films has unveiled a teaser poster on Moviefone for their upcoming gritty action flick The Mechanic, a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson film, starring badass actor Jason Statham as well as Ben Foster (as his new apprentice), Donald Sutherland and Mini Anden. We featured a promo trailer back in March that has since been pulled, but I expect we'll see a real trailer soon as this is due in theaters in January. This kind of gun-filled poster design isn't really unique to see anymore, but it is better than slapping some floating heads on a boring background. We'll let you know when the trailer drops!
