Wally Pfister Says 'Dark Knight Rises' Not Shooting Fully in IMAX
There's a story going around originating on Collider claiming that Chris Nolan is working towards shooting The Dark Knight Rises entirely with IMAX cameras, as we've heard rumors about ever since The Dark Knight came out. I was hesitant to cover it until there was official confirmation, and there still isn't any, but an article did pop up over on The Wrap in the meantime with quotes from Nolan's regular cinematographer, Wally Pfister, who told them at an event last night: "they won't shoot the entire film for IMAX, he said, citing cost and the inability to capture sound as just two of the impediments." But maybe it's still too early?

Rachel Weisz & Ralph Fiennes Reunite for David Hare's 'Page 8'
After working together in Fernando Meirelles' 2005 drama The Constant Gardener, it looks like Rachel Weisz and Ralph Fiennes will be back on screen together again. The Daily Mail reports screenwriter and playwright David Hare (The Hours, The Reader) will direct the duo in Page 8, an espionage thriller which he also wrote himself. Though a logline isn't given, the title refers to the eighth page of a highly classified, secret document, which will likely drive most of the characters' motivations throughout the film. This also stars Michael Gambon (The Book of Eli), Bill Nighy (Pirate Radio) and Judy Davis (Marie Antoinette).

Natalie Portman Takes Raunchy Sex Comedy 'BYO' to the Studios
First she's kissing beautiful ladies like Mila Kunis is Darren Aronofsky's, beautiful, dark and twisted Black Swan, then she's taking a page out of Judd Apatow's comedy book. 24 Frames reports Natalie Portman has been shopping around a raunchy sex comedy call BYO (as in Bring Your Own) which she wrote with college friend Laura Moses. The screenplay follows two very different twenty-something women who, after finding themselves unlucky in love, decide to throw a party to which each female attendee brings an eligible bachelor. It's apparently described as Superbad, but with two leading ladies having sexual misadventures.

Must Watch: Amazing First Trailer for 'Battle: Los Angeles' Hits!
Wow - now this is a frickin' fantastic teaser trailer. Sony has unveiled the first trailer via Apple for Jonathan Liebesman's Battle: Los Angeles, an epic, energetic action movie about an alien invasion in Los Angeles. That may sound a bit familiar, but give it a chance, this trailer seriously kicks ass. Aaron Eckhart leads an ensemble cast of young Marines who are brought in to fight of the enemy aliens. It has a very Black Hawk Down-plus-aliens feel to, but this trailer is beautiful, such a perfect teaser for this. I seriously can't frickin' wait to see it! I definitely know where I'll be on March 11th - at the theater watching Battle: Los Angeles!

Review: Tony Scott's Unstoppable a Charged & Suspenseful Ride
Denzel Washington is back on the Tony Scott-driven train, literally, now for the second time in a row. Only, this time, John Travolta isn't trying to steal it. Instead, Washington and Chris Pine are trying to stop it. "Trying" being the optimal word. Of course, you can't have a title like Unstoppable without the promise of the action and intensity being laid on thicker than back road tar. Scott, nonstop camera shooting flipping cop cars and all, does just that, and Unstoppable, for all of its melodramatic and sometimes bungling sense of narrative drive, becomes quite the little ride of excitement.

'The Muppets' Lands Paul Rudd, Jane Lynch, Lady Gaga & More
We recently gave you a first look at the increasingly appealing return of our favorite puppets The Muppets including our first look at a new, hip, young Muppet named Walter. In the film, writer and star Jason Segel (I Love You, Man) and the young Everypuppet attempt to save a failing theater by showcasing the talents of Kermit the Frog and the rest of the gang. Now we have word from The Wrap that Paul Rudd will provide the voice of Walter. Additional human characters will also pop up courtesy of Jane Lynch ("Glee"), Danny Trejo (Machete) and Donald Glover ("Community"). More wild, but hilariously fun casting news below!

Paramount Seems to Have Finally Greenlit a 'Zoolander' Sequel?
Seemingly stuck in the same boat as the much desired, but dead in the water Anchorman sequel, a follow-up to Ben Stiller's fashion bashing comedy Zoolander was reported to be having problems getting a greenlight from Paramount Pictures. Though Justin Theroux (writer of Iron Man 2 and Tropic Thunder) was set to write and direct the sequel, apparently budget issues were holding it back. However, it seems like those issues may have been resolved for the really, really, ridiculously good-looking male model as Risky Biz reports a Viacom earnings call included Zoolander 2 on their future slate for the Paramount Pictures arm of the corporation.

Phillip Noyce Set to Direct 'Timeless' From Writer of 'Enchanted'
This past summer, the decent, but wholly ridiculous and implausible action thriller Salt starring Angelina Jolie hit theaters with a moderate splash (despite coming out the same week as the San Diego Comic-Con). Now Deadline reports the film's director, Phillip Noyce, is looking at another unbelievably plot for his next film. Apparently Noyce is negotiating to direct Timeless, a film which follows a recently married man who inherits a fortune from his late wife. Plagued by an unresolved issue between he and his wife, he uses the money to build a time travel device to see her one last time, and clear the air between them once and for all.

Pierre Morel Maybe Helming Sam Raimi's 'Earth Defense Force'
In October we heard that Taken director Pierre Morel was a top contender to possibly helm Universal's action adventure movie Ouija, centered around the creepy "game" board used to communicate with spirits. Well, Heat Vision reports the director presented his take on the Hasbro adaptation to the studio yesterday, but apparently Morel is also in talks to direct another recently reported feature. The director may actually find himself working with producer Sam Raimi for EDF (or rather Earth Defense Force) a story which sees Earth devastated by an alien attack only to build-up their forces again to fend off a second alien horde.

Interview: Skyline's Directors - Brothers Colin and Greg Strause
Soon, our first encounter will become our last stand. Arriving in theaters this weekend is an impressive new sci-fi movie called Skyline, that for a budget of only ~$10 million looks like an epic alien invasion movie to compare with Independence Day (watch the trailer). A few weeks back, I talked with directors, producers and the visual effects supervisors of the movie, Colin & Greg Strause, collectively known as The Brothers Strause. The interview was conducted over the phone, so I have a transcript below. Additionally, Universal declined to show us the movie prior to thos interview, but I made sure to ask some great questions anyway.

First Look: Early Sales Art for Steve McQueen's New Film 'Shame'
Although it's not shooting, it is getting some industry promotion already. Collider snapped a shot from AFM of a the first bit of promo art, a sales poster you could say, for Hunger director Steve McQueen's new drama Shame starring, yet again, Michael Fassbender (who also played Bobby Sands in Hunger). In the film, Fassbender will play Brandon, a 30-something guy living in New York who can't manage his sex life. Sounds spicy and the poster definitely hints at that with some steamy Titanic-like hand-on-window action. The film "will examine the nature of need, how people live their lives and react to the experiences that shape them."

Watch: Another New Trailer for Nic Cage's 'Season of the Witch'
"We're going to need more holy water." Wait, this isn't out yet? Nope, not until this January. Relativity has debuted another new trailer on Apple for the Nicolas Cage historical supernatural action flick Season of the Witch. It also stars Ron Perlman and Christopher Lee. We ran multiple trailers for this last year, but it was delayed, so we haven't seen or heard anything from it for a while. Not that I'm that excited to see it, but this trailer switches gears and undersells the supernatural witch stuff, and oversells the epic action. There's even a huge Crusades battle scene they keep flashing back to that I didn't even know was going to be in this.
