Tim Burton Calls Upon Twitter Users to Write a 'Stainboy' Story
While the Museum of Modern Art features a retrospective looking back at the work of writer/director Tim Burton, the filmmaker is fiddling with a new piece of work with the help of the online community. Using the character from the flash animated shorts The World of Stainboy (which first appeared in Burton's short story collection The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories), The Wrap reports Burton is calling upon Twitter users to write a new story featuring Stainboy. Using Cadavre Exquis (aka Exquisite Corpse), any Twitter user adds to the story in sequence, building on the last line revealed. Details below!

Indie Trailer Sunday: Nick Stahl & Rose McGowan in 'Dead Awake'
Its been a rather quiet week because of the holiday, but I still found a trailer worth featuring today, although its not the best, so don't expect anything too impressive. I first caught this trailer for a supernatural mystery thriller called Dead Awake over on ShockTillYouDrop. It stars Nick Stahl, who you may remember from Terminator 3, as well as the sassy Rose McGowan (Grindhouse) and the lovely Amy Smart (of the Crank movies). This looks very dark and mysterious, which is kind of why I like it so much. Again, it's not anything too impressive, but it is getting a theatrical release and doesn't look half bad. Watch below if you're curious.

First Look: 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' Will Be Feathery
I know, it's Twilight and we don't normally cover this stuff, but I'll admit that I thought this first look photo was actually interesting. The photo was debuted in a Thanksgiving tweet courtesy of director Bill Condon, who is working on finishing the two halves of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. For those who don't know anything about the Twilight series (like me) this photo actually comes from a controversial sex scene between Edward and Bella that they apparently did shoot (the feathers come from all the slashing, I guess), but will still be toned down, according to early reports. Yea, now I know a few more of you want to see this.

TGB Episode 37: We're All 'Tangled' Up (Guest: Melissa Molina)
On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim & Jeremy are joined by colleague & friend Melissa Molina of Latino Review (also @Meli_Molina) to discuss their latest picks of the week, go over the newest DVD & Blu-Ray releases, talk over the trailers for Duncan Jones' Source Code and Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens, respond to recent emails & voicemails and much more! Our main topic this week was Disney films without Pixar (in honor of Disney's Tangled hitting theaters this past week). They talk about some of the best and worst of Disney without their strong Pixar counterpart and what they hope to see in future movies!

Watch: Amusing 'Transformers Prime' Behind-the-Scenes Promo
There's a great spoof video that's floating around the web called "The Making of Transformers Prime" that, even though it's for a TV show, is still worth mentioning. You see, Transformers Prime is the new Hub TV Transformers (robots in disguise!) animated series that debuts this Monday, November 29th. Two of the creators are writers and producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who you know from Michael Bay's Transformers and Star Trek, and they put together an amusing behind-the-scenes video with exec producer Jeff Kline taking a look making the show. Whether you're a Transformers fan or not, you've got to see this!

'Another Brick In The Wall' Kids' Story Being Made into a Movie
"We don't need no education... We don't need no thought control..." So check this out! Deadline is reporting that British producer Andy Harries (The Queen, The Damned United) is working on a project based on the Pink Floyd song "Another Brick In The Wall." You might think of either the music video or Alan Parker's movie Pink Floyd's The Wall, but this new movie won't be anything like either of those. Harries optioned the life story of music teacher Alan Renshaw in order to tell the true story of the school children who sang the chorus in the 1979 song and their "maverick" teacher. It will be "Dead Poets Society meets School of Rock."

Review: Dwayne Johnson's Faster Hits With a Dull, Metallic Thud
The moment first came in 2003's The Rundown -- a fun, cool, and not wholly unintelligent action movie -- Dwayne Johnson, formerly World Wrestling Entertainment's "The Rock", enters a nightclub on the hunt for someone he means business with. As he walks across the dance floor, he passes a familiar face, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who gives him a casual glance and an even more casual "good luck." That was it. The action star torch had been passed. Seven years later, Johnson's action prowess has been called into question by films like The Game Plan and Tooth Fairy. Now, at least for a little while, he has the chance to make a claim

Now on Netflix Instant: Fellowship of the Ring, 5th Element, More
Since the news has been slow this past week and everyone is still on Thanksgiving vacation, we thought now might be the best time to pick out some new Netflix Instant titles for you to sink your teeth into along with some delicious turkey (leftovers). There haven't been a ton of new updates, but it seems like we have at least one pick for everyone's own tastes. There's a Best Foreign Film nominee, a sci-fi action favorite, a Sundance indie, and a feature length behind-the-scenes doc, plus even a holiday comedy. In addition, I've tossed in a few recent favorites to keep you and yours busy over the holiday weekend. So what's in our queue this week?

Check Out the Quad Poster for Tom Hooper's 'The King's Speech'
If I can have your attention please, for just a moment. I would like to bring to your attention the official UK quad poster for Tom Hooper's The King's Speech, as debuted on LoveFilm (via HeyUGuys). I'm featuring this first and foremost because King's Speech is still my favorite film of the year, hands down, and it arrives in limited theaters today, yet no one knows about it (watch the trailer). Second, the US poster looked awful and we've been waiting for the replacement that they say is coming, so this should hold us over (along with an international poster). I honestly can't stress enough how amazing this film is - please go see it right away!

Wishing Everyone a Happy Thanksgiving From FirstShowing.net!
Happy Thanksgiving! What are we thankful for this year? All of you. If you're reading this, then we owe you thanks. Its been an odd year this year, but without every last reader, we wouldn't still be here. Normally we publish our annual Thanksgiving Movie Guide, but we decided not to write one for 2010. Why? Mostly because the line-up isn't that impressive, but honestly because we're just tired and need a day off, too. But here's a quick rundown of movies arriving in theaters: The King's Speech (limited), Burlesque, Faster, Love & Other Drugs, The Nutcracker in 3D, and last but certainly not the least, Disney's Tangled.

Sound Off: Disney Animation's 'Tangled' - What Did You Think?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Arriving in theaters everywhere (in 3D too!) just in time for Thanksgiving is Disney's 50th animated motion picture titled Tangled, a retelling of the classic story of the Brothers Grimm fairytale Rapunzel. This musical may be animated by computers this time, but it has all the heart and wonderment of one of Disney's beloved hand-drawn classics. Mandy Moore voices Rapunzel and Zachary Levi voices Flynn Ryder. How is it? Does it live up to the Disney name? Better than Princess and the Frog? If you've seen it, leave us a comment and let us know what you thought of Disney's Tangled!

Worth Watching: Impressive First Trailer for Disney's New 'Prom'
We're a little late to the game on this one, but not to worry. Below is the official trailer for Disney's Prom, their new high school teenage romantic drama comedy, surprisingly not a musical, following a bunch of kids leading up to the "big dance." I'm featuring this because our friend Justin Springer, who was also integral in making Tron Legacy everything that it is today, produced this movie; and because this actually looks pretty damn good. Okay, sure I guess I'm speaking from a standpoint of understanding the audience they're aiming at, but it still looks better than most of this kind of teen stuff. Check out the Prom trailer below if you wish.
