Amazon.com Launches Online Movie Studio/Production Outlet
This is why I love Amazon. The Seattle based website announced earlier today, with reports on The Wrap and THR, that they're getting into the movie business. Amazon has launched Amazon Studios, a user run online development and production organization built around monthly contests and community feedback. The end result, if all goes as planned, "will be feature films derived from the best user submissions that Amazon Studios produces for theatrical release." So, if you're an aspiring filmmaker at all, make it your immediate mission to visit Amazon Studios and get acquainted, as I have a feeling this will be taking off.

Director Park Chan-wook is Helming 'Stoker' with Carey Mulligan
Though we recently heard that a remake of his much loved comic adaptation Oldboy may have been revived (don't worry, apparently the rumors aren't true), director Park Chan-wook may finally be closing in on his English language debut. 24 Frames reports that the South Korean filmmaker is in talks to direct Stoker, a project written by "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller that had previously been linked to Ridley Scott. In addition, it sounds like Carey Mulligan (An Education) and Jodie Foster are still attached to star in the drama about a young woman whose mysterious uncle comes back into her life after the death of her father.

Steven Soderbergh Possibly Directing 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'
For years Warner Bros. has been trying to adapt the 60's TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. for the big screen since the 90's. Most recently David Dobkin was set to direct the film which would focus on the adventures of American and Russian members of a secret agency called the United Network Command for Law & Enforcement (or U.N.C.L.E.). Now a director fresh off another spy venture may be at the helm. Heat Vision reports Steven Soderbergh (who recently finished Haywire with Gina Carano) is in early talks to direct the adaptation, which is expected to be an action comedy that will hopefully be better than Get Smart.

Must Watch: First 'Green Lantern' Teaser Trailer Debuts Online!
And here it is. You ready? Entertainment Tonight debuted the first full teaser trailer for Green Lantern, directed by Martin Campbell, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. This trailer will also be playing in front of Harry Potter this weekend, so everyone will get to see it. Some of the footage leaked out a few days ago, but I wanted you guys to be able to see this in proper high quality before critiquing it. This teaser is considerably long, but a perfect tease for fans of the comics, and newcomers as well who don't know much about what's going on. The comedy is still the roughest part to me, but overall I think this looks awesome.

Must Watch: Epic, Hilarious Red Band Trailer for 'Your Highness'
Ohhhh yes! Now this is one of my most highly anticipated comedies of 2011! Universal has debuted the first hilarious red band trailer for David Gordon Green's Your Highness, the brilliant medieval stoner comedy starring James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman, Zooey Deschanel and Justin Theroux as the evil wizard. There's just something amazingly refreshing about seeing an R-rated totally off-the-walls insane comedy that mixes medieval elements, awesome action, stoner jokes and much more. It reminds me of my youth and the movies I used to love, can't wait to see it. Dive in and watch the 3-minute trailer below!

Robert Zemeckis Remaking 'Wizard of Oz' at WB? Say It Ain't So!
If you named five movies that you believe should never, ever, ever be remade, one of the first that comes to mind (for me at least) is The Wizard of Oz. The brilliantly entertaining 1939 classic starring Judy Garland still holds up today and is one of the greatest films ever made, musical or not. Sadly, its time has now come. Deadline says that Warner Bros is looking to develop a live-action remake of The Wizard of Oz and they're currently in "early talks" with Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis to helm. Despite the level of talent involved, this is still something I am completely against. This really is a day I thought we'd never see!

Ash Bolland Directing Remake of Killer Bees Movie 'The Swarm'
"We have been invaded... by an enemy far more lethal than any human force." Another day, another remake. Apparently inspired by the success of Piranha 3D (which wasn't much of a success), Vertigo Entertainment and Room 101 are developing a remake of the 1978 Irwin Allen killer bees horror classic The Swarm. The Wrap reported on the news, adding that commercials director Ash Bolland is attached to make his feature debut, but a writer still needs to be found. The original is based on Arthur Herzog's novel, but they're unsure if they'll be pulling from that again. In this day and age of remakes, I expect it'll be another cheesy 3D flick.

Watch: Amanda Seyfried's Wild 'Red Riding Hood' Official Trailer
Who's afraid? Warner Bros has debuted the official trailer on Apple for Catherine Hardwicke's new take on Red Riding Hood starring Amanda Seyfried as the dainty young victim, apparently also stuck in a love triangle. This trailer, and one for Green Lantern, are playing in front of the new Harry Potter. The period thriller also includes Gary Oldman, Shiloh Fernandez, Virginia Madsen, Lukas Haas, Julie Christie and Billy Burke. This looks pretty frickin' wild, almost like Julie Taymor made a horror movie, but it doesn't look bad. In fact, thanks to Oldman, Haas, and of course Seyfried, I'm looking forward to seeing it. Take a look below!

Watch: First Compelling Trailer for Géla Babluani's '13' Remake
Lock and load! After making his feature debut with 13 Tzameti, French filmmaker Géla Babluani decided to direct the glitzy Hollywood remake of his own film himself now 10 years later. This time it's called just 13 and Shadow And Act (via The Playlist) has the first trailer. Babluani rounded up an impressive cast: Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Shannon, Ray Winstone, Sam Riley, 50 Cent, David Zayas and Emmanuelle Chriqui. It's a fairly slow paced introductory trailer, but it still looks good, and feels a lot more British than French or anything. But wait it's all a big game? Watch below!

Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Joining the 'Neighborhood Watch'
At the end of last year we found out that the Jared Stern written comedy Neighborhood Watch (which appeared on the 2009 Black List) had found a new director in Peter Segal (50 First Dates, Tommy Boy). David Dobkin had been attached to direct with Will Ferrell, but both of them have left the project. Heat Vision reports that Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (who both wrote Superbad) are stepping up to rewrite the script about group of suburban fathers who start a neighborhood watch group as a front for some male bonding time away from the family. But of course, the group discovers a sinister plot to destroy the world.

Seductive First Look at Zoe Saldana in Action Flick 'Colombiana'
Oh boy do I love me some Zoe Saldana. I'm sure she's already been compared to Thandie Newton, but this time she really looks like her. Latino Review posted three first look photos from Saldana's upcoming movie Colombiana, produced/written by Luc Besson and directed by Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3), in which she stars as a "stone-cold assassin." As much as I'd love a full version of that sexy shot with Saldana carrying a gun through a gaping hole in the wall as my desktop background, all we've got are these low quality shots for now but hopefully we'll see higher res versions soon. Check out the new photos from Colombiana below!

Review: Danny Boyle's '127 Hours' is One of the Best of the Year
Man is inconsequential to nature. It's a lesson the world teaches us from time to time, making it known that we aren't necessarily the ruling class on the planet. It's a lesson a young hiker, Aron Ralston, learned over the course of five days in May of 2003 when his right arm was pinned between a boulder and a rock wall. The struggle, pain, and ultimately, will to survive (which entails so much more pain) Ralston went through is now the basis of Danny Boyle's new film, 127 Hours.
127 Hours is a harrowing testament to Ralston and his overpowering continence that allowed him to
