Scorsese Confirms Reunion with Robert De Niro in 'The Irishman'

De Niro and Scorsese

We've been hearing about the project for over two years now, but it sounds like director Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro are finally going to make this reunion actually happen sometime soon. Digital Spy (via The Playlist) reports straight from the filmmaker himself during a Q&A for BAFTA's A Life in Pictures where Scorsese said that they're currently figuring out financing for The Irishman (their adaptation of Charles Brandt's book I Heard You Paint Houses) and might end up shooting next year. The book chronicles the life of Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran, a reputed criminal responsible for more than 25 mob murders.

Colin Firth to Star in the Coen Brothers Written 'Gambit' Remake

Colin Firth

Though the project has been gestating for years, earlier this year news finally came that a remake of 1966 British action comedy Gambit, scripted by Joel and Ethan Coen, might finally get off the ground. Then just last month we found out that director Michael Hoffman (The Last Station, One Fine Day) would helm the feature. Now it seems development is moving rather swiftly as Deadline reports Colin Firth, who has been receiving plenty of praise and awards buzz for his work in The King's Speech, is in talks to lead the remake. Right now the plan is to get the film into production in London and Texas sometime before next summer.

First Look: Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson in 'Fast Five' Sequel

Fast and Furious

While I've found the Fast & the Furious franchise losing a lot of speed and fury over the years, apparently fans and Universal still think there's enough gas in the tank for another sequel (maybe even two). That train of thought brings us to Fast Five, another fast-paced sequel from director Justin Lin with franchise stars Paul Walker and Vin Diesel on the run from a legendary law man played by Dwayne Johnson. Now we have our first look at the tough guy face-off with the first image from the sequel where Diesel and Johnson don't seem to be very fond of one another. Also, be sure to check back tomorrow around noon for a trailer.

Hathaway & McAvoy Sought for 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

Hathaway / Zombie / McAvoy

After losing director David O. Russell and leading lady Natalie Portman, the gestating adaptation of the period drama remix Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was pretty much dead in the water. But the project seemed to get new life after writer, director and actor Mike White was brought on to helm the adaptation. Now it looks like the casting machine is up and running again (or at least the rumor mill) as Pajiba has learned that Anne Hathaway is being considered for the lead role of Elizabeth Bennett while James McAvoy might be lined up to play Mr. Darcy. However, keep in mind that these names aren't anywhere near being officially attached yet.

Adam Sandler Attached to 'Narco', Offered Lead in '$40,000 Man'

Adam Sandler

After making a dumbed down version of The Big Chill with all his comedic buddies (but without any genuine heart), Adam Sandler is still going strong post-Grown Ups. His rom-com Just Go with It hits in February just in time for Valentine's Day and he'll be taking dual roles as brother and sister Jack & Jill with Al Pacino and Katie Holmes along for the ride. Now it looks like two more projects could get Sandler's talents in more ways than one. Pajiba reports that Sandler is attached to remake French comedy The Secret Adventures of Gustave Klopp and has also been offered the lead role in $40,000 Man, a gestating action comedy.

Check These Out: Iconic Comic Book City Vintage Travel Posters

Metropolis

Unless you get to visit a film set, you'll likely never get a chance to set foot in the iconic cities of Metropolis or Gotham City, homes to superheroes Superman and Batman respectively. Of course, these two cities are essentially alternate versions of New York, and other heroes have simply been placed at the center of the Big Apple itself for their stories. Well, now you can dream a little dream of how you might be convinced to travel to one of these superhero cities as graphic designer Justin Van Genderen designed (via The Daily What) travel posters for Gotham City, Metropolis and two other NYC variations with several familiar superheroes.

'Limitless' Viral Expands Offline: NZT Drug Sample Mailer Arrives

NZT Drug Sample

What if a pill could make you rich and powerful? I found an interesting package in my mail today, wrongly addressed to "Alexis" (not Alex) Billington, but that didn't matter. Inside was a brochure and sample of NZT pills - short for "thallanylzirconio-methyl-tetrahydro-triazatriphenylene" - also called the "clear pill" that Bradley Cooper talked about in a recent viral video from earlier this week. Wait - they want us to take one of these things? Even the back of the package is creepy, containing warnings saying: "Once you have started taking NZT, it is vitally important that you finish the regimen." I think I need a test subject to try them out!
