Matt Damon Joining Sharlto Copley in Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium'
We've recently heard that the recovering health of Michael Douglas meant the gestating Steven Soderbergh Liberace biopic would get off the ground next summer, but co-star Matt Damon is already looking to the future in more ways than one. Deadline reports that Damon, who can next be seen in the Coens' remake of True Grit later this month, is in early talks to star alongside recently cast Sharlto Copley in Elysium. We've only heard vague details about this sci-fi follow-up to director Neill Blomkamp's successful District 9, but we know it's not a sequel to the Best Picture nominee and the story is set in the far future on another planet.

Lily Collins Will Lead Scott Stewart's 'Mortal Instruments' Movie
The Oscar nomination for her performance in The Blind Side likely did wonders for Sandra Bullock's career, but it looks like one of the lesser known supporting actresses will soon step into the spotlight. She should get some more attention with a role in Scott Stewart's upcoming adaptation of the comic book Priest, but now Lily Collins (who played Bullock's daughter) is lined up to lead an adaptation of her own. Collider learned Collins will play Clary Fray in adaptation of The City of Bones, the first book in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. Interestingly enough, Scott Stewart will also be directing this adaptation. Read on!

Casting Tidbits: Jesse Eisenberg, Taylor Lautner & Bryan Callen
If you guys were the inventors of Casting Tidbits, you'd have invented Casting Tidbits. First up, The Wrap reports Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) will co-star with Jess Weixler (Teeth) in the indie Free Samples from director Jay Gammill. The story follows a law school drop-out (Weixler) who fills in as a server on a friend's food truck, where she doles out free samples of ice cream. As she's stuck there figuring out what to do with her life, she finds herself being courted by a young man (Eisenberg) whom she barely remembers from the night before. Jason Ritter ("The Event") and Keir O'Donnell (Wedding Crashers) also star in the film.

Editorial: Was 'I Love You Phillip Morris' Too Gay for Hollywood?
Did you know there was a new Jim Carrey movie that finally hit theaters last weekend? If you're a regular reader of this site you probably have somewhat of an idea of what I Love You Phillip Morris is (you can watch the latest red band trailer here). But most people outside of film geek circles, or those who don't read movie blogs like this, have no clue what this film is about or even that it's coming out at all (it barely made over $110,000 at the box office last weekend). How does a Jim Carrey movie get buried after being finished for over two years? The answer isn't as complicated as you might think, but it's still very bizarre.

Sound Off: Henckel von Donnersmarck's The Tourist - Thoughts?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Arriving in theaters this weekend is yet another remake of a recent Foreign film, but this one has a very impressive cast, lead by world famous superstars Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Directing this remake of Anthony Zimmer, retitled to The Tourist, is German filmmaker Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck - delivering his first Hollywood feature since winning Oscar for The Lives of Others in 2007. So how is it? Is it entertaining or just a dull action flick? How are Depp and Jolie together? If you've seen it, leave a comment below and let us know what you thought of The Tourist!

DreamWorks Creating CG/Hand-Drawn Film 'Me and My Shadow'
Very intriguing announcement today. It definitely looks like Jeffrey Katzenberg is trying to get his company DreamWorks Animation on top of the animation world and will stop at nothing to achieve that elusive distinction. Variety reports the animation studio has slated a new project for March 2013 called Me and My Shadow. In a first for DreamWorks, they'll be seamlessly combining hand-drawn animation and CGI, reminiscent of 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but as they explain: "this does the same, but with CG and hand-drawn." Don't forget, they've made hand-drawn movies before like Prince of Egypt, Spirit and Sinbad.

Anne Hathaway Now Attached to Gestating 'Barbarella' Remake?
After going around with Rose McGowan and director Robert Rodrigeuz, it looks like Universal is looking for another beautiful actress to step into the titular role of Barbarella in their remake of the 1968 sci-fi classic starring Jane Fonda. McGowan never really had my full support (though I'd still love to see Red Sonja come together at some point), but I like the news from Pajiba that says Anne Hathaway is currently "attached" to the project now. However, this good news comes with the disheartening news that the film doesn't have a director at the moment. I guess that means Robert Luketic has fallen out since getting attached last year.

First Dark, Shadowy Teaser Poster for Marvel's Thor is Revealed
He is the immortal God of Thunder - The Mighty Thor! Marvel.com has revealed the first official teaser poster for Thor, their next epic adaptation of the mythical superhero from Asgard. The first trailer (not a bootleg) for Thor will be online tomorrow evening at around 4PM PST, so this is our first tease to hold us over until then. It looks like they might be downplaying the costume and hiding it a bit in the shadows, or just hinting that this is an epic comic book adaptation that will be dark and should be taken seriously. I'm leaning towards the latter. This is a pretty badass first poster, so check it out in all of its full glory below!

Another New Trailer for Anthony Hopkins Exorcist Flick 'The Rite'
"Choosing not to believe in the devil won't protect you from him." Another intense new trailer for Mikael Hafstrom's chilling exorcism thriller The Rite starring Anthony Hopkins and Colin O'Donoghue has debuted on Empire. The first trailer for this was actually quite impressive, and this second one isn't too bad either. They don't have to hold back on the creepy imagery this time. It starts from the ground up explaining the plot (showing us way too much of the story than necessary) and we get a good look at Toby Jones, CiarĂ¡n Hinds, Rutger Hauer and Alice Braga as well. One thing's for sure - this is going to be frightening to watch.

Bradley Cooper Promotes a Miracle Drug in 'Limitless' Viral Video
If you're thinking that you have no idea where the film Limitless came from, don't worry. It's simply a new title for the film formerly known as The Dark Fields, an adaptation of Alan Glynn's novel which tells the story of a down and out New York writer who finds a pill that gives him the ability to access the full capacity of his brain. This viral video for the movie acts as a faux advertisement for the wonder drug in question with Bradley Cooper (in character of course) having nothing but good things to say about NZT, or rather, the "clear pill." But along with a glowing testimonial comes some risky side effects including "sudden death."

Are you ready to rumbleee? Disney & DreamWorks have unveiled the first official teaser trailer for Shawn Levy's Real Steel, the upcoming family action sci-fi movie starring Hugh Jackman and a bunch of giant robots. This is that awesome slightly futuristic movie we've been hearing about and damn does it look good. This trailer hasn't hit online in high def yet, but did show up watchable on YouTube for now. There's some early glimpses of some of the badass robot fighting we'll see, some of the story and so on. If you don't watch closely, this just seems like a bunch of shots of Jackman yelling at no one, but it's still good. Watch & enjoy!
