Glee's Chris Colfer Developing 'Struck by Lightning' Indie Project
Earlier today, we saw Glee star Dianna Agron making a giant leap to the big screen in the latest trailer for I Am Number Four. Fellow Glee star Lea Michele has yet to land a major role besides in New Year's Eve, but their openly gay co-star Chris Colfer has setup an interesting project. Variety reports that Colfer wrote the script for and is set to star in a new project called Struck by Lightning, which producer David Permut is developing; he's currently looking for a director and a cast before getting financing. Struck by Lightning is a coming-of-age comedy that Permut says, "captures the spirit of movies penned by the late John Hughes."

Rodrigo Garcia Adapting Short Doc 'La Corona' as Feature Film
Though the documentary short La Corona (or The Crown) received plenty of praise as an Oscar nominated film in the Short Subject Documentary category, the 2008 Spanish film will now serve as the inspiration for a narrative feature-length film. Deadline says Fox Searchlight is taking that praised short and having writer Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries) script an adaptation for Rodrigo Garcia (Passengers, Mother and Child) to direct. The documentary focuses on a prison pageant with contestants who are hardened criminals, guerrillas and drug dealers vying for the distinction of being called "queen of a prison." More details below!

Crowe Wants Fans' Support for a 'Master and Commander' Sequel
Though its been a while since we've heard anything about a sequel to Peter Weir's 2003 adventure-drama Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, that's not stopping Russell Crowe from crying out for support. The actor recently tweeted: "If you want a Master and Commander sequel I suggest you e-mail Tom Rothman at Fox and let him know your thoughts." This is the same Rothman that supposedly had a hand in ruining Wolverine and is now holding back on Master and Commander. Some may remember that Crowe did say a script had been written based off of another novel, but it was still in the very early stages.

If having them pretend to be gay firefighters in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry wasn't enough funny for you, then you may be happy to know Adam Sandler and Kevin James are reuniting for another buddy comedy. Must Watch: Epic New Full-Length Trailer for 'I Am Number Four'
Whoa. I'm not sure if most of you skipped right passed the very first teaser trailer for D.J. Caruso's I Am Number Four or just forgot about it soon after watching it, but this is the trailer that finally makes this movie look awesome. Yahoo has debuted a brand new, full-length theatrical trailer for I Am Number Four, the DreamWorks sci-fi adaptation of a very new novel starring Alex Pettyfer, Dianna Agron, Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer and Kevin Durand. We finally get a real taste of the action and style beyond the high school-set storyline, and I'm very impressed. This new trailer is definitely worth watching - enjoy!

First Promo Poster for 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Surfaces
The first trailer for next summer's blockbuster sequel Transformers: Dark of the Moon is supposed to hit sometime tomorrow, but a new promo poster, maybe even an official teaser poster, has surfaced already. JoBlo got ahold of the image, and it's actually just a better quality version of a poster at the 2010 Licensing International Expo earlier this year. It's a simple, and not entirely unexpected image of Optimus Prime standing triumphantly with lots of orange embers flying about, likely from one of Michael Bay's trademark explosions. It's not too amazing, but this will surely have people getting excited and complaining all at once.

Why on Earth is Lee Daniels Remaking Fellini's 'Nights of Cabiria'?
While a recent article at Deadline has confirmed that The Butler, starring Denzel Washington as real-life White House butler Eugene Allen, will be the next film from Precious director Lee Daniels, some much more disturbing news of his future slate is mentioned ever so briefly. Daniels just recently switched his talent agency from Creative Artists Agency to William Morris Endeavor, but before he left, the lovely folks at WME had closed a deal for the filmmaker to remake Federico Fellini's Nights of Cabiria, the 1957 film which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. Do you hear that? That's the sound of Lee Daniels losing every ounce of my respect.

They've moved from the adaptation of the favorite children's book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs to big screen adaptation of the TV series 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Casting Tidbits: Chris Tucker, Aaron Johnson and Ryan Phillippe
We are Sex Bob-Omb and we are here to make you think about Casting Tidbits and get sad and stuff. In a short and sweet story, Deadline has heard that Warner Bros. has purchased a spec script called The Rabbit with Chris Tucker (Rush Hour, The Fifth Element) attached to star. No details on the story have been given, but the source of the story compares it to the action comedy Midnight Run starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. If Tucker actually stays attached to this project through development this will be his first feature film since Rush Hour 3 in 2007. Obviously no one wants that to be their last film, but I can't imagine him getting much better.

Watch: Brad Anderson's 'Vanishing on 7th Street' Official Trailer
Stay in the light. When we noticed there was a nifty new poster for Brad Anderson's creepy post-apocalyptic thriller Vanishing on 7th Street, I knew there would more to come, and here it is. Yahoo has debuted the first trailer for the film, starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo and Jacob Latimore as a group of survivors of a mysterious mass disappearance. There's some creepy weird darkness that has spread across the city and after a power outage, causes most of the population to disappear. I first saw this in Toronto (review here) and enjoyed it but didn't totally love it. Check out the official trailer below.

Iron Man 3 is a Sequel to The Avengers, Thor & Captain America?
While Marvel's ambitious cinematic universe will get a huge growth spurt next summer with the release of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, it will be the ensemble superhero film The Avengers that will determine the future of several comic book franchises. As a matter of fact, director Jon Favreau seems to already be looking into the future beyond ensemble tentpole and has some thoughts on Iron Man 3. Without mentioning any details, Favreau told MTV, "In theory, Iron Man 3 is going to be a sequel or continuation of Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Avengers." That would explain why so much of Iron Man 2 was used to set-up The Avengers.
