Teaser Trailer for Aardman's New Animated 'Arthur Christmas'
Meet Santa's son Arthur. British animation company Aardman (behind Wallace & Gromit, Flushed Away) is back at it again with another new animated flick, this time called Arthur Christmas, telling the story of Santa's son Arthur. Yahoo has debuted the first teaser trailer for the 3D animated movie, which isn't due out until Thanksgiving next year, but that's why this might be the perfect time to introduce us to these uniquely Aardman characters. The voice cast includes James McAvoy as Arthur, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Hugh Laurie and Imelda Staunton. It's another goofy teaser without any actual footage, so watch below and enjoy.

Neill Blomkamp Reuniting with Sharlto Copley for Sci-Fi 'Elysium'
Back when they still needed a director for The Hobbit, there was a short-lived rumor that Peter Jackson collaborator and District 9 director Neill Blomkamp was in the running. However, when that rumor was debunked, we discovered that he was actually working on another original sci-fi flick called Elysium. Now that Jackson is going back to his past in Middle Earth with The Hobbit, it seems only fitting that Blomkamp is returning to his first success as Deadline reports he will reunite with District 9 star Sharlto Copley for the secretive sci-fi project that's currently being shopped around to studios and "there is a lot of interest."

George Lucas NOT Resurrecting Dead Movie Stars for New Film
If you're one of those Star Wars fans who thinks George Lucas's retroactive creativity has ruined the classic Star Wars trilogy, then you probably don't want to know what he might be planning to do with some of Hollywood's late, great actors and actresses of decades passed. The Daily Mail (via AICN) recently spoke with actor/director Mel Smith who made a surprising revelation about a potential project from George Lucas. If Smith is to be believed, Lucas has been gathering the film rights to some of cinema's most famous deceased movie stars of Hollywood's golden years and plans to use digital effects to feature them in a film with actors and actresses of today. What?!

Bloody Before & After Teaser Posters for [REC] Prequel and Sequel
Back in May we heard about a forthcoming prequel and sequel in the [REC] horror franchise getting the greenlight. While the foreign films likely won't find a release here in the states immediately, plenty of genre fans are looking forward to both of the projects. The prequel, [REC] Genesis sees release in the franchise's home country of Spain in the fall of 2011 while the final sequel [REC] Apocalypse will hit the same time in 2012. Though we've yet to see trailers or even stills of the end for this franchise, we now have two bloody, official teaser posters that are simple yet effective in illustrating the bookend nature of the two new films.

Kathryn Bigelow May Direct Another Film Before 'Triple Frontier'
We've recently confirmed that Tom Hanks will indeed star in the next film from Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow, whether it's called Sleeping Dogs, Triple Frontier or something else entirely. However, that project isn't slated to start production until fall of 2011, and Variety says Bigelow and The Hurt Locker writer Mark Boal are looking to get another international thriller off the ground before then. Though details are sparse, it will apparently be timely and revolve around certain black ops. However, Call of Duty fans shouldn't get excited as the film is said to be based on a true story that has "appeared in printed form."

George Clooney Attached to Direct Adaptation of 'Enron' Musical
Though he's in the process of preparing to direct and star in an adaptation of the stage play Farragut North (under the new title The Ides of March), it looks like he's lining up another adaptation of a stage production, but this time with some song and dance. The Guardian reports the film rights to Enron, the UK stage musical which tells the story of the corrupt energy company through the majesty of song. However, the creative team behind Britain's famed play, including the director and entire cast, won't be along for the ride as George Clooney is apparently attached to direct and the production is going for an American telling of the story.

First Look: J.C. Chandor's Ensemble Sundance Film 'Margin Call'
While there are lots of films I'm excited for premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, one in particular that I want to bring to your attention today is called Margin Call, written & directed by first-time feature filmmaker J.C. Chandor. Though from early casting news I knew this would be something to watch out for, these photos make me think this might be one of the big films to come out of Sundance in January. Collider found a batch of photos from the dramatic thriller with an incredible ensemble cast that revolves around key people at an investment bank over a 24-hour period during the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis.

Must Watch: First Official Trailer for 'The Beaver' with Mel Gibson
It is time. This is the trailer I've been waiting to see for a long time. Summit Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for The Beaver, directed by Jodie Foster, and starring Mel Gibson as yes, a severely depressed guy who wears a beaver puppet on his hand. But don't judge a book by its cover - this is a trailer you must see for yourself, thankfully in HD from Apple. In addition to Gibson, this also stars Jodie Foster, Jennifer Lawrence and Anton Yelchin. Not only does this look a lot more emotional and dramatic than I was expecting, but the entire cast looks amazing, like this might be one of next year's highlights. Watch below!

Check These Out: Terrible Films as Criterion Collection Releases
Many film connoisseurs are well aware of the prestigious Criterion Collection, an assortment of cinema's finest and most influential films from prominent filmmakers around the world. While there's always some dissension amongst fans regarding what films deserve the honor being included in the collection (especially Michael Bay's Armageddon, a film that is actually in the collection), there are plenty that will almost never, ever be considered for the prestigious series. Well, a Tumblr called Fake Criterions takes "classic" films like Ghost Dad and Ernest Goes to Jail and imagines what the Criterion DVD cover art might look like.

Second Cheesy Official Trailer for Alex Pettyfer's 'Beastly' Appears
It's what's underneath. CBS Films has debuted a second official trailer for Beastly, the new contemporary teen-focused take on Beauty and the Beast starring Alex Pettyfer. We haven't actually featured any trailers for this before, even though there was one earlier this year, but that is mostly because this honestly doesn't look that good. Anyway, Moviefone has debuted the latest trailer and I suggest most of you stay away, as it's probably just going to make you angry, considering it looks about as cheesy as anything can get. I guess the only good part is that Neil Patrick Harris has a role as his blind mentor of sorts. Watch at your own risk!
