'Bad Science in Movies' Checklist Chart - From 2001 to Apollo 13
We all know that most sci-fi movies don't actually use real physics or science rules and often exaggerate for entertainment purposes. Just think of Armageddon and you will understand. There's always a debate about which movies do use proper science and which don't, so Charlie Jane Anders from io9 (originally via I Love Charts) decided to create their own "chart" of Bad Science in Movies. It's basically a big checklist/graph with 18 movies cross-listed with 11 different rules that were broken, such as "sound in space" and "moving in slow-motion in zero gravity", which is supposedly one rule that 2001: A Space Odyssey broke. See it below!

Must Watch: First Trailer for Fantastic Fest Fave 'Golden Slumber'
"Once there was a way, to get back home..." One of my favorite films from Fantastic Fest earlier this year was a Japanese flick called Golden Slumber (read my review). It uses the classic Beatles song "Golden Slumbers" as a motif that is not only sung, but used often as music, and even ties into the story in a unique way. It's a brilliant film, one of my all-time favorite Japanese flicks, but obvious rights issues with the song are probably going to prevent this from ever being released. To tease you anyway, I found an official trailer that includes English subtitles and it's a must watch, if only to help build more buzz for this fantastic film.

Natalie Portman in Watercolor Pink on 'The Other Woman' Poster
I'm not sure if it was mere coincidence or coordinated publicity (I'm thinking the latter) that this new poster with Natalie Portman on it was released the same day as the surprising news that Portman (in real life) is pregnant and engaged to her choreographer from Black Swan. But that's gossip and we don't care too much, so onto the real story. Vulture has debuted an official poster for The Other Woman, that some of you will probably recognize from it's previous title, Love and Other Impossible Pursuits. Not only does Portman star in the film, it's one of the first produced by her at her company Handsomecharlie Films. Check it out below!

Gemma Arterton & Andrew Garfield Join Michael Mann's 'Capa'
Over a year ago we heard that director Michael Mann (Public Enemies, Collateral) was developing a biopic of renowned war photographer Robert Capa, focusing on his two year romance with fellow photographer Gerda Taro during the Spanish Civil War. Simply called Capa the story begins in Paris in 1935 where Capa, a refugee from Hungary, met Taro, a Jewish refugee from Nazi Germany. It sounds like Mann has found his leads in some promising young talent as TotalFilm caught up with Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia) who revealed that she and Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) are set to star in this.

Check These Out: Redesigns of Darth Vader Inspired by the Script
Many fans have seen Ralph McQuarrie's original concept art for Star Wars featuring the first iteration of Darth Vader. However, some illustrators thought it might be fun to create their versions of Darth Vader. While it may seem difficult to create an all-new vision of such an iconic villain, these co-workers have done some impressive work in redesigning the Dark Lord of the Sith using only the first passage in the film's script as the basis for their creations. While a couple of the designs certainly share elements with the Darth Vader we're all familiar with, some of these designs are pretty damn dark and twisted. Check em out below!

Sound Off: The Coen Brothers' 'True Grit' - What Do You Think?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Retribution. The Coen Brothers are back once again with their 15th feature film - True Grit - a re-adaptation of the original Charles Portis novel that was adapted in 1969 into the John Wayne western. It's the first time the brothers have worked with Jeff Bridges since The Big Lebowski in '98 and they almost gave up until they found 14-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld to star as Mattie Ross. So how is it? Is it one of the Coens' best films or one of their worst? What was your favorite part (acting, visuals, story)? If you've seen it, leave a comment and let us know your thoughts on True Grit!

Indie Trailer Sunday: Sean Bean in Red Band 'Black Death' Trailer
Repent. I'm not exactly sure why I chose to feature a bloody, red band trailer for a film called Black Death on the day after Christmas (aka Boxing Day in the UK, Canada, Australia), but it may have something to do with the lack of new worthwhile indie trailers out there. Anyway, below you'll find the red band for Triangle director Christopher Smith's medieval action-adventure horror film Black Death, starring Sean Bean as Ulric and Eddie Redmayne as Osmund, as well as Carice van Houten and David Warner. So if you want a brief escape from all the holiday cheer, then look no further, as this trailer is definitely not family friendly.

James Franco's Grandma's Funny '127 Hours' Christmas Greeting
Merry Christmas from the Francos! Fox Searchlight has been running a viral campaign for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours that involves sending out shirts that say "I Kept My Eyes Open for 127 Hours" and a website at ikeptmyeyesopenfor127hours.com, where you can request a shirt. They're playing off of all the occurrences of fainting, which happened separately at both showings I attended. The star of the film, James Franco, is home for the holidays and recorded a video on Funny or Die (via Deadline) with his grandma with a special message to everyone who hasn't seen 127 Hours yet. It's a fun video definitely worth watching today. Enjoy!

First Look: Our Four Musketeers from 'The Three Musketeers 3D'
All for one, one for all! Merry Christmas d'Artagnan? I know this isn't our very first look as we did feature a photo of Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort in August, but let's get right into it. The first official photo from Paul W.S. Anderson's The Three Musketeers 3D has been unveiled (via SlashFilm). Seen below are the actual three musketeers, Matthew Macfadyen (Athos), Ray Stevenson (Porthos) and Luke Evans (Aramis), plus D'Artagnan, the youngest one seen wearing the white tunic, as played by Logan Lerman. It's a good photo featuring all of the musketeers and a fun first look to see this holiday weekend, so check it out below.
