Chris Evans Speaks on Challenges of Becoming Captain America

Chris Evans

Even after what I considered to be a decent first look at Chris Evans wearing the red, white and blue for Captain America: The First Avenger, there are still plenty of people who are none too pleased with his casting as the comic book hero. Hopefully some of those fears and criticisms will be quieted whenever we see the first trailer, but until then, Evans himself has recently spoken about the challenges that face him with this huge undertaking of a role. The Daily Blam (via ComingSoon) checked out Evans recent interview with Wizard magazine where Evans opened up about some fans' insecurity and playing the American hero himself.

'Toy Story' Short Featuring Barbie and Ken is Attached to 'Cars 2'?

Ken and Barbie

Shortly after the charming yet tear-jerking Toy Story 3 hit theaters, director Lee Unkrich revealed that the farewell to Andy's toys didn't mean the characters wouldn't be returning. While Toy Story 4 seemed to be unlikely, the director said the traditional Pixar short playing before Cars 2 would feature some of the Toy Story characters. Well, now Digital Spy has noticed a recent Twitter update from Disney animator Floyd Norman saying, “Saw the Pixar 'Hawaii' short. Cute. Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii. I don’t know what it’s gonna be attached to. Fun stuff, however.” So it sounds like there will be a Hawaiian adventure before Cars 2!

McG and Breck Eisner Circling Universal's 'Ouija' Adventure Film

Ouija

Though we heard that Taken director Pierre Morel might venture into the supernatural with Universal's adaptation of the Ouija "board game," the filmmaker has since moved on to potentially take on the Sam Raimi produced Earth Defense Force. Now we have word that two frontrunners to direct the project with a script from Tron Legacy screenwriters that veers away from the expected horror treatment of the board and moves into action adventure territory akin to National Treasure. Heat Vision says McG (Terminator Salvation) and Breck Eisner (The Crazies) are the two names who are pitching their take on the Hasbro property to the studio.

Alex Pettyfer Lined Up for Biopic on Racecar Driver James Hunt

Hunt / Pettyfer

He's already starring in the DreamWorks adaptation of the young adult sci-fi novel I Am Number Four (which could be the start of a new franchise for the studio), but the film's lead star Alex Pettyfer is just getting started at the studio. Deadline reports Pettyfer has just gotten his license to drive as the studio has set the young actor to star in a biopic of Formula One race car driver James Hunt. Using Tom Rubython's biography Shunt: The Story of James Hunt, the story will follow the life of the driver who climbed the racing ladder from Formula Three racing all the way up to winning the Formula One World Championships in 1976.

Christina Hendricks & Olivia Munn 'Don't Know How She Does It'

Hendricks / Munn

In case you weren't aware (especially since we didn't post this news whenever it was announced), an adaptation of Allison Pearson's hit British book I Don't Know How She Does It is on the way with Sarah Jessica Parker starring. Now it looks like the supporting cast has been rounded out with some real eye candy and a couple great male talents as well. 24 Frames reports Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") and Olivia Munn ("Attack of the Show") have landed major roles in the romantic comedy about a high-powered finance type (Parker) who's also the mother of two young children and trying to balance the many competing elements in her life.

Ron Howard Talks a Bit About That Massive 'Dark Tower' Project

Dark Tower

Back in September we got confirmation that director Ron Howard and writer Akiva Goldsman are tackling an unprecedented adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower series that will alternate between film & TV. For those unfamiliar, series of novels follow Roland Deschain, the last living member of a knightly order of gunslingers, and humanity's last hope to save a civilization that will crumble unless he finds the Dark Tower. Aside from the unheard of collaboration between film and TV for one singular story, this project has plenty of uncharted territory for Ron Howard as he ventures into a couple of genres which he hasn't worked in before.

Sound Off: Joseph Kosinski's Tron Legacy - What Do You Think?

Joseph Kosinski's Tron Legacy

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? It is time. We've been waiting 2 years, 4 months and 23 days for this day; or for some, they've been waiting 28 years. Tron Legacy, the highly anticipated sequel to Steve Lisberger's techno-classic Tron from 1982, directed by first-time filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, finally hits theaters today in Disney Digital and IMAX 3D. How is it? Was it worth the wait and did it live up to all of your expectations? How is Daft Punk's score? How is Jeff Bridges back as Flynn (and CLU!)? How are the visuals and fight scenes? If you've seen it leave a comment and tell us what you thought of Tron Legacy!

Roger Ebert Reveals His List of the 10 Best Feature Films of 2010

The Social Network / Roger Ebert

Who's next to reveal their Top 10 of the year? None other than beloved Chicago critic Roger Ebert, whose complete list was written up in a fantastic post on his blog with explanations and info on all of them. At the top of Ebert's list this year is David Fincher's The Social Network, which has been topping lists left and right, but he's got a couple other solid picks, making this a Top 10 list I can actually get behind, unlike A.O. Scott's. I'm also very happy to see Inception on there, along with Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer, plus Black Swan and The King's Speech are already two of my favorites from this year. Read on for his full list!

Tip: Please Go See 'The King's Speech' During the Holiday Break

Colin Firth in The King's Speech

Yes, this is some very blatant shilling for a studio, but I saw The King's Speech myself at the Toronto Film Festival (read my review) and it's one of my favorite films of the year, so it deserves all the support I can give it. I'm not sure why, but not many know about The King's Speech yet, and whenever I mention it to anyone, I'm still asked, "what is it?" So this is my plea to go see The King's Speech during the holidays, as it will be expanding wide into 600 theaters on Christmas Day, which means a lot of you will finally have the chance to see it - and you should, even if you don't know what it's about (in case you don't, watch the trailer here).

DreamWorks Animation to Adapt Oni Press Comic 'Maintenance'

Maintenance Comic

As we said with the news that DreamWorks Animation is working on a CG/hand-drawn hybrid project, the animation house is looking to step up its game with some very original upcoming projects. Heat Vision reports they've picked up rights to Maintenance, an Oni Press comic book that follows the exploits of two janitors who work for TerroMax Inc, the world's biggest evil science think tank. When they're not dealing with toxic spill monsters and menial time machine repairs, they have to contend with their boss, a multitude of mad scientists, jetpack cavemen, alien repomen, and the cute girl who works at reception. Sounds crazy!

I don't know how nerdy everyone else is, but I've dreamt of one day getting a Bad Robot figure. I honestly thought they were mythically rare, like something only employees had, but not anymore. Disney Making Nixed 'Museum of the Weird' Attraction into Movie

Museum of the Weird

Disney has already taken attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and a new take on The Haunted Mansion with Guillermo del Toro, but now the House of Mouse is looking at taking an attraction that never made it to the park into theaters instead. 24 Frames reports that the canceled 1960's attraction The Museum of the Weird is heading into development as a motion picture. The studio is currently talking with Ahmet Zappa (writer/actor son of musician Frank Zappa) to script the adaptation. The attraction was supposed to feature "a parade of ghostly organists, magic carts, talking chairs and other surreal exhibits." I smell an adventure!
