It's Kind of a Funny Story Trailer

Focus Features has debuted the official trailer (on Yahoo) for It's Kind of a Funny Story, starring Keir Gilchrist and Zach Galifianakis, directed by Half Nelson's Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Although I was at first thrown off from the first look photos by the fact that this is not actually a comedy, as expected, it still looks pretty damn good. Boden and Fleck are great filmmakers and I love seeing them approach a story like this that looks like it ends up having quite a bit of heart and charm to it in the end. This also features great appearances by Emma Roberts, Aasif Mandvi, Viola Davis and even Jeremy Davies. Watch below and enjoy!

A clinically depressed teen (Keir Gilchrist) gets a new start after he checks into an adult psychiatric ward. Based on the young-adult novel by Ned Vizzini. Also starring Lauren Graham, Zoë Kravitz and Jim Gaffigan.

It's Kind of a Funny Story is both written and directed by husband & wife filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, of the little lovable indies Half Nelson and Sugar previously. This was based on Ned Vizzini's novel of the same name first published in 2006. Focus Features will be bringing It's Kind of a Funny Story to limited theaters starting on September 24th this fall. It may also play a few film festivals, so stay tuned for more.

This is one of those little gems you savor that you stumble across looking for anything but the same old crap. Great thing here you can catch it at the theater. This will only boost Zach Galifianakis' already accelerating career. There were hints, here and there. Glad to see he had it in him.

this is definitely worth a watch. but, seemed kind of formulaic for the boy to meet a girl in an ADULT psych ward? that being said, i want to see it for all the interesting characters in the movie.

This looks like an interesting coming of age film, the kid actor seems pretty good. A nice break from Jesse Eisenberg and Michael Cera anyways. Galifinakis is perfect for this role. The guy who said that he's been with a lot of women is an EXCELLENT actor from the film Mail Order Bride although his name escapes me. I will definitely be checking this out. Cool song at the end too.

@beavis What i was going to say is if you actually paid attention to the trailer, you would see the teen ward was undergoing renovations so they were all moved to the adult section. Pay attention before you post or else you might have to change you name to butthead.
