Boba Fett's Dad & Eagle vs Shark Director Join Green Lantern

I was fully expecting to never write another casting post for Green Lantern, which starts shooting this week in New Orleans, but I'm making an exception for these guys. Heat Vision reports that Kiwi actors Temuera Morrison (L), who played Jango Fett and Commander Cody in the Star Wars prequels, and Taika Waititi (R), who also directed (and starred in) Eagle vs. Shark and Boy from this year's Sundance, have joined the cast of Martin Campbell's Green Lantern. Waititi plays the best friend of Hal Jordan, the test pilot who comes to wear the super-powered ring of the interplanetary police force known as the Green Lantern Corps.
Morrison plays Abin Sur, a member of the Corps who is instrumental in Jordan becoming the superhero. The two will join a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds, Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Tim Robbins. As was discovered a few weeks ago, Warner Bros is releasing Green Lantern in 3D, but we're not sure if they're shooting in 2D and converting or actually shooting in 3D (I believe it's the former). For those who don't know Taika Waititi, he's actually a very talented actor as well as director, and I suggest checking out Eagle vs. Shark and Boy when you get the chance. Green Lantern is set to arrive on June 17th, 2011.
