Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo in Talks to Join 'Violet & Daisy'

Back in April we heard about an interesting project called Violet & Daisy from Precious writer Geoffrey Fletcher, who was also looking to make his feature directorial debut by helming his own script. At the time Carey Mulligan (An Education) and Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones) were attached as the lead characters (apparently that's still the case) but now 24 Frames reports Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo are in talks to join the project which combines the dark comedic elements of Pulp Fiction, the nature of a raunchy comedic duo from Superbad, and the female friendship/feminist empowerment of Thelma & Louise into one story.
This new casting has been made possible by a change of producer on the project. Originally producer Wendy Finerman (Forrest Gump, The Devil Wears Prada) was behind the project but recently she vacated her role and left Bonnie Timmermann (also producing that new John Belushi biopic with Todd Phillips) to produce it. Timmermann and Willis go way back since she got him on an episode of "Miami Vice" in the 1980's when she was a casting director. She even got Willis into Michael Bay's Armageddon which ended up working out well for everybody. It sounds like Violet & Daisy is looking to start shooting this fall which puts it ahead of Willis' other projects like Looper and Kane & Lynch, but of course anything could change in the meantime.
I've got to say, this sounds incredibly unique and also at the complete opposite end of the spectrum from Precious. Should be interesting to see what Fletcher can do with this cast. Count me in. How about you?
