Two recent projects we've been hearing a decent amount about each gained a new cast member as Bloody Disgusting reports (and Variety confirms) Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) will join Sam Worthington in the murder mystery The Fields (formerly the Texas Killing Fields) as the detective who is transplanted from New York to this gruesome on-going Texas series of murders. Meanwhile, Variety also reports that Amanda Bynes will star alongside Owen Wilson, Jenna Fischer, and Jason Sudeikis in the new Farrelly Brothers comedy titled Hall Pass, the story about a wife who gives her husband a "hall pass" for adultery.
In Hall Pass, it's unclear if Bynes will be playing Sudeikis' wife (she seems a bit young) or one of the sexual conquests of either of the two husbands whilst using their hall pass. I'd probably place money on the latter since Bynes has become quite easy on the eyes. But then again, I've had a crush on her since I was a kid watching "All That" on Nickelodeon. Anyway, she's got quite the stellar comedic sensibilities and has since she was a Nickelodeon dream boat. But I digress. The Farrelly Brothers have the potential to really return to their roots from the late 90's and craft a decent, hopefully raunchy comedy for which they're best known.
On the more bloody side of things, it looks like Bradley Cooper won't be solving murder mysteries anytime soon with Morgan now taking over the second half of the detective duo investigating unsolved murders in a stretch of bayous where as many as 70 bodies have turned up over the past 30 years. Hopefully the two have some decent chemistry, and Worthington will step up his game a bit. Written by producer Don Ferrarone (a former DEA operations agent) the script should offer a realistic and creepy look into these real-life murders.
